Trisha watched as the group walked away and shuddered. Kanda and Logan were still watching her closely and she forced a smile at them.

"What am I supposed to do now?" she demanded through grit teeth. All she wanted to do was retreat into a bedroom and play her game and be far away from Ryan's relatives.

"Spend time with me," Logan offered with an easy-going smile. "You have no reason not to."

"She has every reason not to," Kanda countered as he scowled. "She'd be better off with that perverted butler at this rate."

Trisha frowned at the conversation. "Perverted butler? Are you talking about Nakuni?"

Kanda groaned. "You had to say his name." He sighed. "Yes, you need to be careful around him."

Trisha rolled her eyes. "The only person I know I need to be careful around is you," she pointed to Logan, "and you as well." She held up her hand and pointed her ring at them. "I am a married woman, a happily married woman. I don't need either of you sniffing after me like you're some dog."

Kanda chuckled while Logan hung his head. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to not flirt." He put a hand on his neck and under his glorious hair. Seriously, how could a man have hair that shiny and perfect? Trisha had the urge to cut it and make a wig out of it.

"I'll try to stop, I really do want to hang out with you more."

This time Kanda rolled his eyes. "Don't believe a word this guy says. He's always got a new girl on his arm, they never last."

"I don't get why you think that's my fault, and what business is it of yours about my relationship status?" Logan scowled. "You're just jealous."

"Can you two not fight?" Trisha demanded as she rubbed her aching head. "All I want it some peace and quiet while I think. Just a few minutes, please."

"Mistress, whatever is the matter?" Nakuni had popped up by her elbow and handed her a flat ice pack. "Please, put this on the spot that hurts. May I suggest you go outside for some fresh air?"

"No," Trisha answered as she held him off with a hand. She didn't believe he was perverted, but she didn't want to be alone with him to find out. "I'll be fine, I just need a moment."

Kanda looked out over the crowd. "I don't know where they took Ryan. Those relatives of his are beyond creepy."

Logan nodded. "I'm just glad I was able to save her from them. She reminded me of a kitten thrown in a cage full of dogs."

Trisha shuddered. She didn't like the visual, but that was very much how she had felt about the situation in the first place. She didn't want to be anywhere near them again if she could help it.

The farther away they stayed, the better. Let Ryan deal with them, they were his relatives anyway and she had done what he asked.

"Are you cold?" Nakuni questioned.

"You don't need to worry about me constantly," Trisha took a few steps away. "How long do these parties last?" As Logan looked her way she gave a nervous smile, "I mean, I want to spend some alone time with my husband, that's all."

"It is likely this will last until morning," Kanda observed. "Ryan doesn't know how to do things without excess."

"That's for sure," Trisha grumbled. She still felt lost in this giant mansion. If she moved too far away she was going to be lost, so as much as these weird people worried her, she'd rather be with them than Ryan's very creepy relatives.

Until morning.

She was going to be stuck at this party until morning. Her stomach growled at her reminding her that it had already been hours since she ate last. Nakuni jumped to attention as if a gun had

gone off.

"Here, let me get you something to eat, Mistress. I will return as soon as I find something suitable for you." he rushed away and Trisha was once more with Kanda and Logan, great.

"You know we can go elsewhere instead of being stuck in this corner," Logan observed. "There's the banquet table if you're hungry. You're the star of the party, you shouldn't be hidden like this."

"What if I want hidden?" Trisha questioned. "I'm not one for parties, I'm sorry. All of this is so overwhelming." At least that part was true.

Her palms were sweaty from being in this place. She couldn't help but worry she would make a mistake and end up destroying something. The last thing she needed.

"Not used to parties either?" Logan questioned with a tilt of his head. "I guess normal people really have it different. I mean you don't even know who I am, even after telling you, you still don't get it."

"No tail wagging for you," Kanda agreed with a nod. "Trisha, I'm sure that once the toast is made, you can call it a night. You just need to stick around for that."

Toast? Trisha resisted the urge to groan. The fact that her mouse was back in her possession was the only thing that gave her strength to continue on this charade. She hadn't even thought of having a toast. This job was becoming more painful with ever minute that dragged by.

"And the picture for the newspapers." Logan added.

"Newspapers?" Trisha did her best to not squeak.

"And the interview for the reporters as well," Kanda said with a faint smile.

Trisha's heart began to slam against her chest. Her breaths came one after the other shallow and rapid. She was not going to survive this. Just the idea of being anywhere near a camera had her mentally breaking out in hives.

She couldn't do this, Ryan was crazy for asking a nobody like her to do this.

"Hey, don't worry so much," Logan whispered. He grabbed her hand in his, ignoring Kanda's glare. "Listen, Ryan is a big name when it comes to acting, and the fact that you ended up marrying him is huge news. But I'll be here for you when they talk to you. I'm sure Ryan will too, but you don't have to face them alone, okay?"

Trisha nodded. Despite his normal flirty attitude, she appreciated this serious Logan. It would be nice if he was like that more often.

She resisted the urge to shake her head. It didn't matter what he was like. She was only going to be exposed to him this single day and that was it.

"Mrs. Rosewood!"

Trisha turned and stared wide-eyed at the crowd of people rushing forward with cameras and mics held out to her. Okay, maybe relying on Logan wouldn't be such a bad idea after all. These people looked like vultures. She held a hand up to shield her eyes from the blinding lights.

"Mrs. Rosewood, please show us your ring!" One of the closest reporters stuck her microphone into Trisha' face.

"Tell us all about your relationship with Mr. Rosewood. How did you two meet? How long did you guys date before he asked the question? How did he ask the question, I'm sure someone as amazing as him must have given you a proposal to knock you off your feet! How did you keep you secret all this time?"

Trisha stared at the microphone. How could she answer any of those questions? She obediently held out her ring and showed it off. The flashes were faster now and her eyes blurred from the non-stop assault. "Mr. Rosewood and I-"

She was cut off as another reporter gasped. "You call him Mr. Rosewood even after all this time?"

Logan stepped forward with his hands held out and an easygoing smile on his face. "Come on guys, she's new to all this. You got your pictures of her, her dress, and her ring, why don't you take some time to focus on me?"

More lights went off and Trisha once more held a hand to her eyes. A hand grabbed hers and she was tugged away and away from the pack. She looked up blinking and Kanda smiled at her. "Are you okay? You looked like you needed a rescue there."

Trisha nodded. "Are they always like that?" she whispered. The last thing she wanted was them to turn around and find her.

"Worse usually. I'm not his biggest fan, but Logan did save you. I guess I'll have to thank him." Kanda sighed. "He'll never stop bragging about it once I do though."

Trisha watched as the reporters swarmed Logan and he smiled and chatted with them. Seeing him in that light was strange. He really was a big name it seemed. She'd have to research him more and see just how popular he was.

At least knowing that seemed a way she could live with the fact he had just taken a bullet for her.

"They won't stay distracted forever though. I hope Ryan shows up soon. He sure is taking his damn time."

"Is there a reason you're hiding in a corner with my wife?" Ryan held out a hand to Trisha and with a deep shuddering sigh she took it.

"Come on, Trisha, it's time we go make our toast. I can't do it without you."

Trisha swallowed her nerves away and nodded. She and Ryan walked back through the crowd of reporters and took the spot that Logan occupied.

Ryan nodded for some drinks and smiled at the reporters. Trisha found herself lost in his dazzling white smile before he handed her a drink and smiled. "We're ready to give our toast, and my beautiful bride would like to say a few words first."

Crap.

I don’t see how Nakuni is perverted, he’s a bit strong opinionated about Kanda. The banter between Nakuni, kanda and Logan are funny but I can see where it’s annoying Trisha when she’s on her last nerve. Brownie points for Logan coming in for the save and I don’t like how Ryan left her hanging on that toast. I would’ve grabbed a bottle of wine, looked for a quite room to drink and read lol.

Trisha cleared her throat. Her mind was blank, her throat dry, she didn't even know if she could form two words by this point. She cast a glance at Ryan but he still held that warmth in his eyes that made her feel like she could do no wrong. She held up her drink and blinked at the reporters who were all waiting for her to speak. "Thank you for all coming to celebrate mine and Ryan's wedding party." she chirped. She hoped they couldn't hear every breath she was taking. What was he thinking making her do this? This should have been him, not her. She scanned the crowd. She spotted Logan beyond the cameras. He gave her a little smile and a thumbs up. Was that his idea of encouragement?"Is that it, honey?" He leaned forward his hand grazing against her cheek."Listen, all I have around me are shallow people that just want my fame. I never get to be a normal person. Trisha tossed and turned. The bed wasn't at fault, far from it, it was the most comfortable thing she'd ever been on. Was this what famous people did? Sleep on clouds? Because that's what it felt like. She turned over again and tried to bury her face against her hands. Maybe it would help if she was able to take this fancy dress off.Trisha shrugged out of the folds and let the material crumple to the floor in a shimmery heap. Just being in her light slip felt better. She pulled the covers back once more and pulled the comforter to her chin as she closed her eyes. She was treated to a mental recollection of Logan's abs and his insistence that she should remember him. Trisha tried to shake the image out of her mind but it stuck. All she could see was her fake boyfriend's abs. "You're not wrong about that, but I need you to calm down, if you don't you're going to alert others. Then everything we've done today is up in smoke. Remember, you promised to help me."Trisha didn't listen to him. She continued to back up until her back hit the balcony. "Stay away from me," she demanded. She looked behind her and winced. That was a long fall. Not something she really wanted to experience, but she didn't want a vampire draining her dry either. "I'll

Trisha looked around the wispy landscape. Had she finally managed to get asleep after so long? She didn't even remember passing out. But why were her dreams so dull and boring? There was nothing here but wisps of clouds. She would have thought she'd at least get a view of Logan's abs again or something. This was downright disappointing.A shimmer in the distance drew her and she walked toward it. The landscape moved with her blurring as she moved faster. The shimmer got stronger and when she got close enough to see what it was, she spotted a dining table set for two. Sitting at one of the seats was that Kanda guy she had met earlier. "Hello?" she called as she got within range.Just what silly adventure was her brain trying to go on here?"Trisha, it's good to see you. I was worried you might be late for our date."Date?
