Kate took him to the Chairman's room. There were vibulizers, bronchodilators and other beeping machines attached to him, as if his life depends on it.
"How did it get to this, mum? Jade asked with the stunned look on his face. He couldn't believe the chairman was in this state. Things probably got worse because of me, right?" Tears formed in his eyes as he muttered the last word.
"No, my son. Don't blame yourself for other people's mistakes. It's the Damien's family that caused this to us, okay?" Kate cleared up the thought.
"I won't agree less but would grandpa ever survive this? You said he's only having less than a month?"
"Yes... That's what the doctor said.
"This can't be happening. Not now... In anyway, it is unfair to be acting like this right now, grandpa. You should properly end this game your started, even though it would be the last." Jade's tears eyes watched the oxygen m
"Y..yes. I am." She answered, with guilt dancing in her eyes."I'm so sorry for what I did. It's all my fault and I accept it. But no one is above mistake after all.""Are you here to beg or you're here to lecture me?" Zoey rolled her eyes at Chloe, vividly and looked away. "Just imagine! Such a spoilt brat! I don't blame you!" She cursed underneath her breath.Lucas wanted to talk but he decided to keep quiet, watching Zoey and her attitude.I want you to understand why I need your forgiveness. It's to meet Sapphire's parents and beg them as well, so that my family name would be off this burden. I'm trying my possible best, Zoey. Only you can help me out."Then I wouldn't help you out, Chloe or whatever you call yourself! Especially going to her family. You'll just leave them heartbroken. I wonder what you've gained so far from doing so much evil. For causing so much pain!" Zoey muttered with a
Walking out, Chloe stopped Lucas and took him to a corner to talk. "I'm truly grateful for your help so far. At least with this, I'm able to feel free again.""I'm glad you realized your mistake, Chloe. Make sure don't repeat this ever again.""Are you going to drop the case?""Yes... But you won't be available to face Jade or have any contact or business related with him anymore. Take this document." He handed her a brown envelope. She opened it and checked through in heartbreak."If you appear before Jade again, nobody would be able to stop him from what he would do next so... I'll advise you don't even visit him. Just leave him for now and forget him.""What's this?" She asked. "Still confused.""This is the duplicate file for your case. The dust isn't still settled... Until Jade and Sapphire regain consciousness. But for now, I'll advise you leave the count
The heart transplant was complex, being that it was the second time Sapphire was having a heart transplant surgery. The open heart surgery took longer with her body, receiving oxygen-rich blood, which is why she was connected to a heart-lung bypass machine. After that, the cardiovascular surgeon made an incision, to operate on her heart. The incision was made such that her chest bone was separated and her rib cage was opened. The surgeon then removed the artificial heart, and replaced it with the donor's heart. The healthy donor heart was then sewn in place, and her blood vessels were attached to it. This process enabled blood to flow, as Sapphire's new heart then starts to beat normally. Although, the surgery lasted for seven long hours, everything went successful. After the heart transplant procedure was completed, Sapphire received pain relief medications. Ventilator was attached to her nostrils for easy breathing. Fluids were drained f
"Mum, dad... Who is this weird looking guy and why am I here? Uhh..... My head really hurts." Sapphire muttered, rubbing her forehead simultaneously.Jade was dumbfounded."I got shot trying to save you... Why can't you remember?! Is it because I came too late? Are you angry at me? Talk to me, Fire!" He turned to the doctor after wiping away his tears and sniffed quietly into his sleeves."Stop calling me that name okay?! I said I don't know you. Are you deaf? Ugh!" She muttered in pain.Sapphire couldn't understand why a random, pathetic looking guy would lie to her and shout at her despite her condition. With this, Sapphire gently turned to the direction of Fiona."Mum, what's happening here? Who's this?""Umm.. don't worry my dear. You're recovering, just relax." Fiona muttered, facing Jade with an annoying look."You heard her, right? So can you leave for now
A piercing headache spread through Jade's head like wildfire. He grabbed his head in the pain, consuming the burning sensation that was pushing him into an invisible hole but he tried not to get do.Jade got back into his ward and all he wanted to do was to break down. The two people he loved so much deserved him on the same day. Although, he doesn't acknowledge that of his grandfather's but the chairman has always been his role-model. Someone he admire. Someone he had worked so hard for throughout the years.Jade chewed on his lower lips as tears washed down his eyes. He couldn't hold it anymore. His breathing tightened. His head hurt even more. Jade held his head with both hands and closed his eyes. I couldn't even say goodbye. I couldn't ask him for forgiveness for being so rude.(A flashback of their last interaction played on his mind.)
Lucas and Jade walked to the beautiful garden, somewhere around his ward. There were other patients with similar cases to Jade's, but everyone concentrated on themselves. Jade sat on a wooden bench. Somewhere alone the walking path. The fresh air sent beautiful fragrance, but that didn't lift the weight off Jade's shoulders. His eyebrows joined together in fury as he sat down. Lucas watched his expression careful. It's clear that he could read his CEO friend, like a book. Lucas sat down, right next to his friend as the watched other patients and visitors move around on concentration.Lucas heaved out to kill the bored silence that reigned with the seconds. "I know you're going through a lot and there's a lot going through your mind right now. There's going to be a new change in.... Everything. Especially in the company, within your family and also... With your relationship with Sapphire but, whatever happens. I want you to remain strong, as you've always been. Take resp
Her voice brightened up the room. The audience roared to her in excitement. The four seated judges loved her performance. Ruby walked out of the audition room with a wide smile across her broad face. She had a black, leathery short skirt and a pink, mini-top, on. Ruby's blond hair swept through her shoulder with her 5 feet black boots that made her little taller. Her lips were bull-red and she had a smokey eye makeup done, which fitted her perfectly. About to leave, she met Gabby. He was holding a bouquet of daisy flowers."Gabriel Anderson!" She called his name. Gabby looked up, his eyes met hers."Nice to meet you again. It's been twice in a week now, like seriously?!" Ruby walked up to him in excitement and wrapped her arms over his shoulder.Gabby felt butterflies piercing in his stomach as he gently pulled himself from her tight hug."Nice to bomb into you like this. Are you sure you aren't stal
Coloured squares of light, checkered the carpet of the aisle. There were tons of guests in black. About thirty or forty. The arriving guests took their rows. It was a tall glorious church with beautiful construction and giant status. There were white daffodils and red roses placed on his coffin placed on a huge, marble table."...not merely because of the desirability of life but because of same exercise at once to live and die well. Much more is he who says that it were good not to be born, but once one is born to pass with all speed through the gates of heaven...." The priest in flowing, white and gold robe muttered.Kate was crying, wiping tears away with a tissue. Jade looked sick but didn't weep. Denver and Stephen Alejandro's daughters came from Paris for their fathers burial. The choir ladies started singing. Ruby and Jade helped kate to her feet, with denver on the other side. Jade didn't give Denver a look, he jus
