"I know you think I've embarrassed you by joining the entertainment industry, but why did you have to accuse me of selling myself? I was only 18! I was trying my best to make money to pay for your cancer treatment!"

I closed my eyes to stop the tears from falling.

"You know, Karen. You don't deserve a daughter like me. You'll pay for what you've done to me."

That was the last thing I ever told her, and she left with a shudder.
