I am surprised when Odette comes forward a little and allows me to extend one of her canines just enough to place that small cut on my finger. She then steps back again as I place my finger in his mouth, he latches on and sucks. I look up at Amelia and she smiles as she says,

“He hasn’t latched on and fed like that for over a month.”

“Did you want to get some rest? I can look after this little fella. Or I can give you that tour?”

“The tour would be nice.”
