I stared at the ceiling blankly and the only thing I could hear was Daciana sleeping soundly in my arms. I couldn’t bring myself to sleep, not after Agatha dropped the bomb on me last night.

Throughout the night, all I could think about was where I had gone wrong. How could I not notice what happened? How did I get to hate him so much that I didn’t bother to request an autopsy report after his death??

Who hated him so much and was bold enough to poison him?!

Deep down, I couldn’t stop thinking Anne had something to do with his death, but I kept shaking off that feeling because I didn’t want to believe she was that cruel.

‘Maybe she loves playing games, maybe she wants everyone to do whatever she wants, but murder? Murder is far-fetched.’

At the moment of his death, he had so many enemies already and anyone could have wanted him dead, but for him to have died of poisoning, that person must have infiltrated the palace to achieve this.
