Ansari's pov

I looked up at the figure that hovered over the town In wonder. Was that the child that I had condemned to death out of fear of who she was?

Of who she represented?

"Mom!!" Magnus cried as he sighted his mother.

"Magnus!!" Mira yelled, and I turned just in time to see mother and child run to each other. They locked in a firm embrace as the formally strung and formidable Mira sank to her knees in tears.

"I thought we had lost you." She cried.

"I'm sorry mom."

"Why didn't you call? It's been two weeks. We thought you were dead."

"I can explain everything.” He said with a smile. My daughter's face radiated with joy.

I looked around for Gabriel, but he was nowhere to be seen.

My mind raced to conclusions as I feared the worst. Now was not the time for news like this. If Gabriel were dead, it would shatter Mira and the little strength she had left.

"Where's Gabriel?" I heard her ask. I turned around to see the look on Magnus's face as he delivered the news I expected to hear

Gabriel's povI stared in awe as the army of wolves of every single pack in Western America rushed down the hills of Moonstone in all of their terrifying power. The moon was not out, and all I could witness was them in their normal human states, but even that brought joy to my eyes. The monsters looked at one another in confusion. The army that Saltos had called forth was one terrifying number, but they were scattered across the battlefield without accurate coordination."Form your lines!" Saltos's voice boomed angrily. He had lost all of his former coordination as desperation began." Form your lines, you bloody idiots."But it was already too late for that. Mira got to her feet and slit the throat of the login that was next to her. The other wolves of our pack saw what she did, and one by one, they picked up their swords and began to press the enemy."Fight back, you idiots!" their leader cried. "stand and fight!" a large goblin turned on his heels and began to run."No, no, no, no,"

He explained. He was already in his briefs."Oh," I exclaimed. It made more sense now he explained himself. My hand went to the black shirt, and I was about to take it off when I noticed his eyes on my body. I instantly blushed and turned my face away. His constant staring made me super uncomfortable."Do you mind?" I asked shyly. He looked at me dumbfounded, like he just discovered I existed."What?" He asked, confused."I’m taking the clothes off." I explained."Ohhh." He said and turned away. "I'll be downstairs when you're done.” He said, closing the door behind him as he walked away. The room was suddenly quiet, but I was grateful for it. I took the shirt off gingerly; my ribs hurt me like hell. I walked to the mirror and stood in front of the mirror; I traced my hand through my skin, tr

  • My Lycan Mate Rejection    CHAPTER 1: Chosen mate

Magnus’s POV“Have you considered taking a chosen mate, Magnus?” my mother inquired, making me roll my eyes. Your age is 22. Choose a fierce she-wolf to be Luna.I kept chopping my meat without looking at my mother.Skol roared. He loathed the idea of selected mates. We awaited our match. “Leave him alone, Mira,” Gabriel, my mother's new partner, urged. “He already told you he wants to wait for his fated mate.”Gabriel received a little nod from me.I didn’t like him. I had nothing against the guy, yet something about him never felt right with me. My mother married him two years ago. He wasn’t a Lycan like my mother and myself. I never understood why my mother wanted to marry him, but it wasn’t my concern, so I never got involved. I tolerated Gabriel because I had to. Some of our pack members scowled at the fact that Gabriel was only a werewolf and not a Lycan like my mother and me. Technically, that was true. What my pack members didn’t know was that Gabriel possessed Lycan DNA, b

Selene’s POV“Mom, please, you have to take the pills,” I groaned, attempting to encourage her to open her lips. We’ve been at this for about an hour now. I was trying to convince her that she needed her medicines, and she was pushing them away and yelling at me that she didn’t want them. She pushed my hand away, and a handful of tablets spilled all over the floor.I groaned and got down on my knees to gather them up.“Don’t bother, Selene,” my mom replied. “I’m not taking them.”I looked up at her. I wanted to shout. She didn’t have to be in anguish! She was lying in her bed, gripping her tummy, and weeping silently. She was soaked in perspiration. Her white nightgown was moist, and it was adhering to her body. She was pale and so fucking skinny. I could barely persuade her to eat anything. She lost all of her hair months ago. It was incredibly hard for me to see her without her hair, her eyebrows, and her eyelashes. It was the first time I recognized that my mom was unwell.I knew t

Selene’s POV“Fuck,” I whispered as I stooped down to pick up a shattered piece of plate off the floor. That was the second thing I broke today. Mrs. Rose will murder me.“What’s wrong with you, Selene?” my closest friend Alexandra questioned me. “You are so clumsy today.”I ignored her query and proceeded to the storage closet to retrieve a broom and a dustpan.“Selene?” Alexandra called my name.I glanced up at her as I started sweeping.“My mom isn’t feeling well today,” I whispered as I looked back at the mess I had caused.“She is still refusing to take her pills?” Alexandra questioned worriedly.I nodded, stooping down and swiping the broken pieces into a dustpan.“Did she tell you why?” Alexandra questioned.I rose back up and proceeded to the garbage can. I emptied the dustpan and stared at Alexandra.“She said that the pills made her numb,” I said.I grabbed the broom back up and put it back into the storage cupboard along with the dustpan.“Isn’t being numb better than being

  • My Lycan Mate Rejection    CHAPTER FOUR – The funeral

Gabriel’s POVI was clutching Mira’s hand in a firm grasp.I needed her support. I would see my daughter for the first time in 15 years. I would witness my real mate’s body being burnt. I would need to talk to my daughter and ask her to come with me.To say that I was nervous would be an understatement. I was freaking out.“Gabriel?” I heard my name being called.I looked around and spotted my old best friend.“Jasper,” I muttered his name.He groaned and approached me and Mira. He continued strolling toward the funeral place along with us.“It’s Alpha Jasper to you, but I will let it go this time,” he added, peering at me from the corner of his eye.He was still upset with me. He never used to demand I call him Alpha.“This is my mate, Mira,” I remarked, glancing at her and offering her a little grin.“It’s nice to meet you, Alpha Jasper,” Mira responded pleasantly.Jasper looked at her and gave her a slight nod. He stared back at me and narrowed his eyes.“Why are you here?” he inqu

Selene’s POV“What is my father doing here?” I asked Alpha Jasper. There was a stinging aching in my chest that was slowly being replaced by rage. I wanted that man gone. I didn’t want him here. He made his choice when he left my mom and me 15 years ago. I didn’t want him here. I didn’t need him.“You recognized him?” Alpha Jasper inquired, astonished.Of course, I did.“I have his eyes,” I muttered, wiping the tears from my face. “And my mom always showed me pictures of him. She wanted me to remember him.”She loved him so much. She loved him even after everything he did to her. He was her fated partner, who lied to her. He vowed to mark her, but he never did. He harmed her so severely, and I would never forgive him for it.I stared back at the flames.“I will miss you, Mom,” I muttered gently. “I hope that you are not in pain anymore.”My voice cracked and I stopped to take a big breath.“I love you,” I continued gently. “Please watch over me.”I still couldn't realize that my mom w

Selene’s POV“I am not going,” I muttered as I started walking away from my father.I had no reason to be there anymore. My mom’s body was gone. I wasn’t going with my father and I didn’t want to talk to him again. There was no need for me to linger at the burial site any longer. I was going to go home, sleep on my mom’s bed, and scream my eyes out.I wasn’t going with my father anyplace. There was no friggin way that I was abandoning my rucksack. There was no friggin way that I was going anywhere with that dude.“Selene!” he yelled after me.I didn’t react. I didn’t even turn around. The dude left me. He deserted my mom. I didn’t need him or his sympathy money.“Selene!” he called me again, but this time I heard him following behind me.I started walking faster.“Selene, stop!” my father shouted.I ignored him.My heart was thumping a mile a minute. Ansari's povYou alright?" I paid no heed to the man as I ran down the corridor.A hand grabbed mine, and I was flung into someone's chest."Shhhh." The baritone voice said. I knew that voice. I looked up to see Conner looking down at me. "Let me go." I whispered."No." He whispered back. Conner was the only person who knew what I had become, the only one who saw the true me. I loved him so much and still did, but he could never."Please let me go." I cried."I have loved you, and this won't ever change things. Never." He pulled his collar away from his neck and looked down at me, "if you being this way would keep you away from me then… make me one too.""You don't know what you're talking about." I said."I do it because I love you."…. Slashed and hacked and cut through every single one of them as if they were made of paper. Blood flew up in the air along with their marked organs and veins. Gabriel's povMy legs hurt, and the distant feeling of vomit sitting at the back of my throat like some final boss was not helping me on this trek. It has been a good two days since we arrived in Iceland, and the entire company was utterly exhausted. I could not vouch for anyone, but I could bet that I was the most exhausted one out of the three of us. From time to time, I remember when there were four of us. An extra one that had been my responsibility to care for, one I had allowed to be corrupted and destroyed."It's beautiful here," Selene remarked. I looked around at the scenery here. I left Iceland long ago, but even in my memories, it had been a place of extraordinary beauty. It was a good thing that it had not changed. "Yes, it truly is," I replied. It was hard not to fall asleep while driving, but Magnus was terrible. Selene was entirely out of the question. Completely."So this is Akur…""Akureyri." I helped. She rolled her eyes and nodded."Roll off the tip of your tongu

  • My Lycan Mate Rejection    Chapter 96:I finally awaken

Selene's pov."What news?" I asked."Saltos opened a portal to our side.""To moonstone?" I asked, fear spear diving through every cell I had in me. Magnus shook his head. "No, but he took the guardians of the most powerful weapon known to our kind. It was one he had used when he was still of this world, before he was banished. It was taken away from moonstone immediately he was released but he found it and massacred and entire pack just to get it. He has it all now, all that remains is to lay waste to everything we hold dear. My mother, my grandmother, my pack and yours."His words were like a knife to my heart, and I was suddenly lightheaded. I collapsed, but he caught me deftly and pulled me back to my feet. "No." I whispered in disbelief."It is the truth child." My father said sadly."You are the only hope we have of beating him," Olivia said. Her words hurt me more than every other person's."Of beating salts?" I asked, "You saw what happened the last time? I couldn't even t

  • My Lycan Mate Rejection    Chapter 95: It was a crazy escape three weeks ago.

Selene's pov.It has not always been easy; I have had many jobs and menial work to get what the other kids could afford. My mother's health did not make things much better, and I had to do the best for both of us, but it never bothered me one bit. But I never complained, I never felt like I was missing out, and all I ever did was love those around me.So why me? Why was the world so ready to destroy me?To hate me.“It's empty." I said. “It's all empty.""This doesn't make sense," Darius muttered.“Where's the prophecy?" I asked Darius. He was busy staring at a blank page of the paper. Panic was beginning to set in my mind, and I could not deal with him panicking.I grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him. “Darius!! Why are they empty?"He turned to me with confused eyes. "I don't- I don't know." He scratched his head and returned to study the blank pages. What the hell did he mean by that? He picked the book; he had to know."Did you maybe pick the wrong book?" I asked desperat

Darius's pov.I turned off my phone and looked up at the road before me. So that was the girl? That was Selene.I had never had a girlfriend before; I was always too shy to approach anyone, but this girl, this chick, was something else. Where do you even get eyes like that from?A sigh left my lips, fucking hell, I was tired. I looked at the town around me. It had not changed that much since I left. The same people's houses and I was sure they all still had the same ideology. They tried to act the same way in situations that needed to be solved with modern ideologies.A group of kids were playing soccer on a field, and one of them looked up and saw me.He smiled and waved at me. I smiled and waved back.At least they were not so shy anymore; that was good."Hey!!" A feminine voice called. I turned around to see a slim figure running towards me. It was Selene. My heart skipped a beat within me. She was a different specimen. My God!"Hey." She panted and rested her palms on her knees

Selene's povGoddess, have mercy!" my father cried in fear as he held on for dear life"Selene, stop this madness!" Magnus said frantically as he held me while staring at the wall of thunder and lightning before us.Now, he chooses to talk. I was in no mood to speak, not anymore."We'll tell you what's in the fucking boot just stop this." My father yelled as the car came a foot closer to the wall of charged electricity. Millions of nerve endings and necrotic cells interconnect the brain. A single thought you make is passed on like bolts of electricity through the brain as it processes it in under a second. That was how long I had to call off the lightning storm before us—less than a freaking second."Fucking hell, your child is crazy," Olivia screamed. Everyone breathed relief, and Olivia stepped out of the vehicle and doubled down on her knees as she took heavy breaths."Are you mad? Do you want to kill us?" My father screamed at me. I wasn't trying to kill them. I knew they would t
