Chapter 5 (a)

From the laptop in front of him, he watched the innocent  face of Amber.  He could clearly see how she forced a smile on her  lips while talking to Warlo and Dindi.  The swelling of her eyes is also noticeable.  Aside from that, he also heard that Amber did  not ate her breakfast.

 And it hurt him so much, the thought that the woman is crying, breaks his heart.  It was difficult as if he feels like he is  dying inside.

 "Amber," he murmurred as he stares at the girl's face on the laptop screen. He carress Amber's cheek on the laptop screen as if that way he can able to show his care and sympathy.

 "My beloved Amber, I'm so sorry."  He uttered wholeheartedly while intently looking on the screen. Remorse is also evident in his eyes.

 "I'm really sorry."

 He felt the heaviness of his chest. He feels like he wanted to cry.

 He didn’t mean do that.  He was just carried away by so much jealousy and so much affection.  He is very sorry that he hurt hurt Amber last night. If only he could turn back time he will do it immediately.

 He stopped stroking the screen when his cellphone rang.  He immediately picked it up when he saw the person he trusted is the one who's calling.

 "What's the news?"

 ["Master, Lady Amber escaped Warlo Guzman."] 

 He couldn't help but grin at what he heard.  For him, it is indeed a good news.

 "Help her to escape."

 ["Master?] His people sounds like he couldn't believed what he heard.

 "You heard me."

 ["Okay, Masyer. Are we going to continue kidnapping her, Master?"]

 "No need. Let her live with freedom but make sure to look after my woman. Make sure she's always safe."

 ["Copy that, master."]

 "One more thing, don't ever let Indigo find her."

 ["Yes, master."]

 When the call ended, his gaze went to the wall where the large portrait of the girl hanging.  The artist was able to draw the detail of Amber's face.  In that picture, Amber smile so sweet and her eyes are shining in glee.

 He told himself, day will come that the woman will smile sweetly on him. He will do everything. No matter what happen, he will pursue her.

 Someday, Amber will be his.  He promised himself, by hook or by crook, he will claim and own Amber Velez. 

 He stared at the portrait again.

 "You're mine, MINE ALONE."

 Meanwhile ...

 Amber's heart pound so fast. She couldn't help but to look at the hospital door again.

 "Please Lord, please don't let Dindi realize that I've been staying in the comfort room for too long." She uttered as she getting away from the hospital. 

 "Miss, is this yours?"  She turned her face to the man who talked behind her. He is holding a pink handkerchief. Amber's eyes immediately examined the stranger infront of her .He is as tall as her. He looks ordinary person passing by from the area. He was wearing a black T-shirt paired with rugged jeans. He have a  Top not the style of haircut with mahogany red highlight. He has an oval shape of face.  But it could easily recognized that his right eyebrow has a small scar. He also have an upturned eye shape which is not blessed with long eyelashes. He have a typical noss of a Filipino. His mouth is quite wide as if it is ready to smile at any time.

 "Ma'am Amber!"  A call from someoneade Amber to remove her gaze to the stranger.  Her eyes widened when she saw that it was Dindi who's calling. Behind her is Warlo Guzman and two body guards.

Out of nervousness, she pulled the man's hand holding the handkerchief. The stranger seemed surprised on she did  but when he saw that there were people running after them, he just go with the run.

 "Are you running away from them, miss?"

 "Just ask later, okay? Can't you see? We're in trouble now!"

 The man didn't talked but he scratch his head.

 "Ma'am Amber! Please stop running!"  She heard Dindi shout. When she looked at her back, she saw that they were still chasing them.

 "Hurry up! We need to run fast!"

 The man just scratched his head.

 "If you want to hide, miss. I can revommend a place." 

 "No need. I will be going to my bestfriend's place. For sure, she will help me hide from them."

 When taxi stopped in from of them. They immediate hop in . Amber heard Dindi calling her multiple times but she didn't hesitate to get into the car.

 "They can easily track you if you go to your friends. If you want to hide, choose a place not related to you."

 Amber thought, he has a point. With Dark Indigo's wealth, for sure, he will investigate about her. Or maybe did. He might already know who are the people close to her. 

 "Just hide in my place, miss. You're safe there. I can recommend a house you can rent."

 "But I don't have any money." She said honestly in worried face.

 "Well, miss, I can also offer a job for you."  He smiled to her. 

 "But for now, just lend a money from me. But there will be a small interest."

 Amber's eyes examined again the stranger sitting beside her. He has a 'bad boy look' but he have a genuine smile on his face. Amber couldn't see see any hint of bad intension.

 "How much  is the interest?"

 "For you Miss, it's only two hundred in every thousand."

 "What? That's so expensive!"

 "But that's already cheap, Miss since you have three months to pay."

 Amber shook her head.

 "No, take it or leave it, fifty pesos to a thousand, six months to pay."

 The man scratched his head.

 "You're unbelievable, Miss!"

 "So what now? Will you still lend me?"

 The stranger just sighed.

 "Okay fine. I'm felt ashamed on your attitude,  Miss." 

 Amber laughed on his joke.

 "Refrain from calling me miss . Just call me Amber."

 "No miss, just let me call you that way, I am am not comfortable calling you with your first name."

 Amber just shrugged her shoulder.

 "By the way, what is your name?"

 "Tadeo Miguero, Miss. You can call me Tado for short."

 "Tado."  She nodded. "Nice name."

"Thank you, Miss."

 "But anyway Tado, you're not fooling me, are you?"

 "Ofcourse no, Miss." 

Amber balled her fist and showed it to him.

 "Make sure of that, Tado. Because I have a background in taekwondo. And for your information, I'm a black belter." She lied him.

 The man grinned, disbelief is evident in his face.

 "I'm serious, Tado.I really know."

 The man's smile did not disappear.

 "Don't worry, Miss. I have intention of breaking the law. I maybe look like a criminal. But count on me! I can be your superhero."

 "Okay, be my knight in shining armor. But hey, if you plan to court me, then you should know this, my beauty has been taken."

 Tado laughed out loud at what she said. Amber got pissed, she pinch Tado's arm.

 "I'm not kidding!"

 Tado stopped laughing.

 "Okay fine! Noted. Your beauty has been taken."

 But after saying that, he burst in laugh again.

 Amber just rolled her eyes. At the back if her mind, she thinks that the man beside her right nose is not boyfriend  material but he can pass as her friend.  He looks like he can be her good friend even he looks older than her.

 But the question is, would it be to trust the stranger in front of her right now?
