Chapter 3 Still Lying

Li Mu fully understood a principle that when suspicious emerged from a couple, this family would tend to fall into decline.

He was unwilling to anticipate the bad, but the facts he's got forced him to have foolish reflections.

After a long hesitation, he finally determined to figure out why his wife had stayed out all night, where she had been and what she had done. And such a case happened only once or much often.

Moreover, his job required frequent business travel. Was it possible that Lin Wan always stayed out all night when he was on business travel?

Where did she sleep yesterday evening? Was she alone? He was desperately eager to get the answers to these questions.

He picked up his phone and clicked on GPS vehicle tracker APP. Both their cars were equipped with GPS. He never thought that one day he would use it to locate his wife's whereabouts.

The system quickly responded that the vehicle-mounted GPS equipped in Lin Wan's car was turned off.

Li Mu smiled wryly and said to himself, " Lin Wan, you acted so cautiously. It seemed that you did such a thing frequently. Otherwise, you wouldn't be so careful."

The joke was that I've always had great faith in you and our love. But now it seemed that I was such a fool.

Time passed by quickly and unconsciously. It was more than six in the morning.

Dingdong, a tone came from his phone. It was a message from Lin Wan.

"Honey, are you up yet?"

Li Mu calmed himself and responded.

"I was up. And you?"

"Me too. I'm ready to set out for work. By the way, do you come home today? If yes, I will make a delicious dinner for you, then wait for you to have supper together."

If it had been before, these words from Lin Wan would have made him feel so happy. But nowadays, they only sounded like a complete mockery for him.

After a moment's hesitation, Li Mu replied, "I'm unable to come home today because I need to entertain the clients and have a drink with them tonight. I guess I can get away tomorrow and I might go home on Sunday. I will tell you in advance if the time is determined."

"Really?", Lin Wan sent over a disappointed emoji, "Then when the time is confirmed, remember to tell me in advance so that I can make some preparation accordingly. By the way, drink less and take care of yourself."

"OK! I got it. By the way, I can't find my watch. Go to the study to check whether it's left on the desk or not?"

Two minutes later, Li Mu got the reply finally.

"I've searched several rooms, but I couldn't find the watch. Did you leave it somewhere else?"

"Oh, I will have a rummage around the luggage again. It may be left in the suitcase."

"My dear, it is the love token I bought for you. If you dare to lose it, I will not definitely spare you!"

A threatening emoji was sent over along with this message.

He was no longer in the mood to continue the chat. He simply replied to her and hastily ended this conversation on the pretext of going out for breakfast.

She was still lying and continued to deceive him after a night of not returning home.

Now he could affirm that Lin Wan must have done something bad. Otherwise, there was no need to deceive him.

Did it mean that she cheated on me?

The sudden emergence of this idea startled him a lot. He shook his head vigorously, trying to banish this thought completely from his mind.

However, the more he tried to expel the thought from his mind, the more he thought of it.

What reason would keep a married wife from coming home a whole night and deliberately conceal it while her husband was away? Did she have an ulterior motive?

Now what he needed to do was to find the evidence. Li Mu was heartily unwilling to believe that his wife betrayed himself, but what Lin Wan did was totally incomprehensible, or had to explain.
