Chapter Five The Truth

At the doctor's motion, that nurse took the baby out.

The baby was two months old and already had a rough human shape.

He curled up quietly.

This was the baby I had waited seven years for.

I burst into tears.

The doctor reassured me that he would come back later.

I wanted to keep the baby, but the doctor refused.

When I got out of the operating room, I saw my dad.

I told him about it.

He told the doctor that the baby was evidence, so the doctor gave the baby to us.

I asked, "Where's my mom? How is she?"

"She's fine. She got some superficial injuries and fainted because of high blood pressure." My dad seemed to be exhausted. He smiled at me and comforted me, "When you get better, I'll take you to see your mom."

I asked, "Where's Zackary?"

My dad said, "He has been detained. When you recover, we will deal with it. Don't worry. He'll go to jail."

I nodded.
