Chapter 2
Valerie pov “I’m glad you are back little sis, Dad will be so happy.” Ray said, as he drove away from the windors. Yes, it feels good to be back home after three years in a relationship that I didn’t enjoy. We got home and everyone were happy I was back. Dad broke down in tears immediately he saw me. I know I am now a shadow of myself and that made me regret going against his will to marry Charles. “Welcome back my princess, daddy is happy to have you home.” He said and immediately hugged me and, I suddenly broke down in his embrace. “Calm down. I know you are hurt but don't worry, we are going to make the Windors pay for what they did to you. Every single one of them” He reassured me and pet me gently on the back. I nodded my head and walked hand in hand with my dad and brother to the dinning area where food were dinner was being served. It sure did feel good to be home. “I’ve made arrangements for your clothes to be changed and party to be organized. It’s time to tell the world that the heiress of the Clark family is back.” Dad said and Ray nodded in agreement. “Dad, don’t you think it’s too early for that?” I asked. “Well, let it be hosted next week then.” He said and I smiled. Before getting married to Charles, I once enjoyed my life as the heiress of the Clark family. The richest family in New York City. But since Charles wasn’t stable and I didn’t want him to feel bad that I was rich than him, I decided to hide my identity. I acted as a low worker all thanks to the help of my dad. I helped Charles secretly in building his business and when he rose to the top, he forgot about me. How will you feel when you realize that I was an heiress and you just lost me? Mr Charles Windor. Aside from been an heiress , I am a jewelry designer the best in the country and I’m glad I could finally resume my career once again. “Valerie, you have an invitation to a jewelry auction tomorrow and the host would like you to be there.” Ray said as he hand over an invitation card. So soon? But I realized that Charles would be there too since he was into Jewelries too all thanks to me. Early this morning, I had told my lawyer to arrange the divorce papers, the auction would be a nice place to give the documents to him, I thought. Dad gave me one of his card to take myself shopping in preparation of the event the next day. I didn’t want to go alone so I called my best friend whom I neglected because Charles didn’t want me around any other man. “Hey Leo. I’m very sorry for calling now after these years. I didn’t mean to push you away, I did it because of Charles.” I said as I began to cry. “You’re still a cry baby Val. I’m not mad at you and I clearly understand. I’m glad you are divorcing him.” He said. “How do you know?” “I’ve got an informant. Forgotten?” He asked while laughing. I'm sure it's Ray. Leo and Ray have been close friends and I was sure he couldn’t hold back on telling Leo that I was getting divorced. “Would you like to accompany me for free shopping.” I asked and he immediately accepted and offered to pick me up. We got to the mall and few minutes into shopping, I spotted Fiona and Charles walking to where we were. It seems they were also shopping. “Look who is here Charles.” Fiona's voice traveled to my ears but I ignored them. I clench my fists in anger but continued to maintain my cool. Leo beside me noticed the change in my attitude but have not noticed Fiona and Charles's presence. “So he is the reason you wanted a divorce, huh?” Charles asked suddenly in a loud voice and gestured towards Leo. “That is none of your business and not your right to ask Mr Charles.” I replied with a smile. The smug look on his face disappeared and his lips pressed tightly together. He wasn’t expecting me to say anything in return since he is used to the stupid Valerie. He was about to say something but I didn’t give him the chance. I held Leo’s hand and walked away from them. “How can a low life like her be in this mall where expensive clothes are sold. I’m sure it’s that man that’s paying for it.” I over heard Fiona say. “Enough.” Charles silent her. I continued checking out clothes and trying them on for Leo to see and help me select. Charles stood at a corner watching me but I didn’t care. After my clothes were packaged I felt the need to use the restroom so I told Leo and he agreed to wait for me. After using the toilet, I came out to wash my hands only to see Charles leaning by the door. “I’m sure your not blind to know that this toilet is for women Mr Charles.” The next moment I was pinned on the wall and I tried to struggle away. “Are you trying to make me Jealous Valerie??” “Jealous of what?” “Why is Leo with you? Is he your new man or you have been cheating on me before?.” Looking at the man who cheated on me calling me a cheat, it angered me and I used all my might to push him away. “You have no right to know about my life again Mr Charles.” I said and made my way out only to be met by Fiona. “You bitch, why are you with my man in the toilet?” She said and made to slap me only to be stopped by Charles. I turned around and glared at both of them before answering Fiona. “Teach your man to stay away from his ex.” I said before walking away. “What took you so long?” Leo asked looking worried. “Charles was trying to be funny and I'm not ready for his antics.” “Do you want me to warn him to stay aware from you??” He asked. “Not today Leo, let’s go home.” I answered. He nodded and led me out of the mall. Finally home, I had my lunch together with Leo and talked about my career. He was happy that I have decided to start all over again. I am also happy for myself. Clothes check, shoes and accessories checked. I retired to bed after I had my shower. The thought of Charles betrayal hit me once again but I promised myself not to think about it so I closed my eyes and slept. Tomorrow is going to be a long day for me, the queen of the jewelry industry was going to be seen after 3 years. Yes, I am finally back.Chapter 3 Valerie pov Ray and I got ourselves ready to attend the auction. Leo was already at the venue waiting for us. And I didn’t forget to carry the divorce papers with me too. Just as we got there Charles and Fiona were coming down from their car together with his mother. I knew once she saw me, she was going to cause a scene and I was very much ready for it. “Who invited this low class to such an event? And she wore expensive clothes too.” Ray made to answer her but I patted his arm for him to relax and that I’ll handle everything. “Hello Mrs Windor, it’s nice to see you again, I hope you are getting just fine with your new daughter-in-law?” I said as I watched Fiona grip’s on Charles hand tighten. “Who brought you here?. You don’t deserve to be in this auction.” “Well, I’m not here to argue with you since it’s actually your nature to talk down on people when you are not even anything. Do you remember how you were before you saw the dawn of riches?” I asked and her face
Charles pov I know I don’t love Valerie the way I love Fiona but then, I wasn't expecting Valerie to show up with signed the divorce papers and looking nothing like herself. Is she trying to make me jealous by coming to the event with another man?. And she was even called the Jewelry Queen? My heart had paused for a while when she was called to the stage. For three good years I waited to see the Jewelry queen and get to partner with her just to grow my jewelry business. It's an opportunity I would never want to pass for anything. Only to realize that this great personality was my ex-wife. Even though she was accused of sleeping with top men just to get announced, I knew it wasn’t Valerie. She wasn’t that type of woman. How had she managed to pull this off?. It's incomprehensible that she held such a fame and she didn’t let me know. Now, I want her back. I know it’s selfish of me but I just need her to help my business grow. But I knew I couldn’t get Valerie to partner with me

Charles pov The whole drama of today just felt soo off. Valerie that I have known for years now can’t become soo popular in a matter of days after we have signed the divorce papers. But after Mr Clark told the whole house that she was his daughter and the green heiress of Clark group, I couldn’t hold my anger and surprise. Although, I knew I didn’t like her as much as I loved Fiona, I just couldn’t believe I allowed such a powerful woman out of my life. She was just a waiter and nothing more, that I thought but it seems she was very smart to hide her identity till this very moment. To be honest, I wanted her back and I wanted her influence too. Fuck!, what has become of me?. “Charles are you okay?” Fiona asked and I tried the best I could to pretend to be fine but I knew she could already sense my anger. “I’m fine.” “Oh well, you don’t look good to me. CHAPTER 7 Fiona Pov I was mad at Valerie for the humiliation and also mad at Charles. I didn’t expect him to act the way he did with me but it could be because of Valerie. I needed her out of my way so that I could get Charles all to myself . But everything had spiralled out of control. I needed to talk with my dad. I needed to find out if truly Valerie is who she claims to be. Everything around me moved in a blur until I got to our household. Once I got to the door, the butler was there to receive me. “Welcome home Miss Fiona.” He greeted me with a slight bow. “Good morning Mr Buss, is my father and mother home?” “Yes they are, preparing to have breakfast.” “Oh well, I guess I came at the right time.” I said and immediately walked into the house. The scents of freshly cooked meals wafted through the air. “What a surprise, my little pumpkin is home.” My mother said excitedly as I walked over to hug her. She has always been my biggest support not like dad. “Good morning
CHAPTER 8 Charles pov After making up with Fiona at her house, I came back home to check my mail to see if Valerie have replied to my text but I found nothing. I groan in frustration, this couldn’t be happening. She has really changed, Valerie Wouldn't ignore my text in the past. But now I needed her to partner with me so that my business could balance but I’m sure Valerie just want to punish me for what I did to her. I couldn’t reach her anywhere else so I hoped that she would atleast replied to my mail but that isn't happening anytime soon. I felt bored and got the idea of getting coffee and some cakes from the shop Valerie used to work at. Maybe I can be lucky enough to encounter her.
