Edward tried to stop them, but there was nothing he could do. The bodyguards surrounded him, keeping him in the distance. Edward could not even get close to Mary.

Serenity wanted to do something, but Jackson tightened his grip on her arm so hard she could not move.

"Jack!" Serenity shouted his name in a panic.

"Serenity. Don't ever try to plead for her!" Jackson let off a low growl, almost like a warning. He just stared at her with his moist and pleading eyes.

Serenity caught her breath, staring into his eyes, all her words stuck in her throat.
