Chapter Seventy Travis pov I could not understand what was going on. I saw them running in from the gate and then some people inside the coffee shop stood up with their cameras. It seemed as though I was ambushed. I had already walked far away from my car. It wasn't a safe spot for me to run back into it. I turned around looking for an exit before this roaring chaos got close to me. “Over here! Be fast!” Davis drove to me and yelled. He must have realized something was odd. It was the first time I was so grateful for meeting a new person. I hopped into the car and he zoomed off. As he drove I looked back at the people. Some of them were still running after us. I wondered what could have happened to me if he had not driven to me in time to help me. “Damn man! Who are you? It seems like you have offended the whole earth!” He laughed hysterically. “And you are walking around without a bodyguard. How fast would you like to die?” He was funnier than I thought. He did not act as
Chapter Seventy-one Travis pov “Here it is.” Davis stretched out the file to me. I read through it and I could not believe what I found to be true. “You mean, you want to start this organization with this amount of money and all you want me to do is carry on the project excellently, while you get 40% of the share?” I was in doubt. The money he wanted to use to begin it was in millions of dollars. “Why do you think I can handle this project?” “I know you, Travis. I know you from the news and I've always known you as a good businessman. I am not involved in business but I invest my money into it and take my shares. Also, I have always wanted to work with you. It was a better opportunity meeting you at the coffee shop today.” “But… So you mean you knew who I was all along?” “Yes, I did.” He smiled at me. I didn't even know what to say or how to react. It was going from just random to official. I know that officially I had to behave seriously. “You can use the money to sort
Chapter Seventy-two. Travis pov I had to increase the volume of the vehicle so I could hear Alex properly. “I did not hear what you said earlier, can you speak up?” I asked Alex again. “I'm presently not home but I will meet you there in thirty minutes. “Not bad. I'd wait then.” I drove to Alex's home. I was used to being there, nothing was new about being there. I parked my newly gifted car in front of his house and went in to make myself comfortable. I was very happy. I had the answer to the majority of my problems and I was ready to run again. I did not know when I fell asleep while waiting for Alex to be home. “Travis,” Alex’s gentle call woke me up. “I have been calling your name for a while now.” I opened my eyes without changing my position. “Really? I only heard you once though.” I sat up as he walked closer to me and sat on the sofa opposite where I sat. “I'm sorry about the crowd earlier today. I honestly have no idea how they knew you were there. I think
Chapter Seventy-three Travis pov I contemplated going to my parent's home so I decided to pay a visit to Samantha at the hospital. I knew she must have been offended about how I left without saying anything again. I hope she doesn't remember that part though. I arrived at the hospital and stumbled on her Doctor on my way inside. He was going home for the day. “Mr Smith,” he called out to me with a smile. He looked surprised to see me. “What are you doing here at this time?” I found the question to be strange. “Couldn't I be there to visit my wife whenever it pleases me?” I said, inwardly. “I'm here to see my wife. Is there a time frame for visitation now?” “You're here to see your wife?” I could not understand why the doctor was asking me absurd questions. “I think I shouldn't respond again.” I said to myself. “Okay Doctor, it was nice seeing you.” I stretched my hands out to shake him so I could be going. “You're going inside to see your wife? Your wife has been discha
Chapter Seventy-four Travis_ “You did not find Samantha in the hospital? But where could she have gone?” Moments after I called him and explained what was going on to him. “I do not understand how those hospitals behave. The doctor just said someone had been staying with her and then he thought he was family so when he requested that she's fine to go home, there was little he could do because she was better.” I looked into the mirror to be sure Norah had not woken up. She was still sound in her sleep. “Where are you now?” “I'm on my way home. I felt it was best I take Norah home, rest then think of what's next to do about finding Samantha.” I fixed my eyes on the vehicle in front of mine as I drove, while receiving Alex's call. Alex was speaking when I saw someone who looked like Samantha sitting in an open restaurant a few miles away from my home. I looked at the person more intentionally to be certain she was the one. “I think I just saw Samantha.” “You just saw her?” Wh
Chapter Seventy -Five Annabelle pov “Wakie Wakie!” Brooklyn flung my door open. She was loud, her voice and the way she hit the door. I squinted my eyes to see what she was up to again. “While you were here sleeping, a sweet gentle man was cooking something beautiful for you.” She jumped on my bed in joy, partially pressing me with her weight. “What is it, Brook? I am trying to get some rest. You are not allowing me to rest.” I pushed her aside. “You both will be having dinner in an anonymous place and a beautiful gown was bought for you.” She giggled. “That gown is so beautiful! I wish they were mine.” “Young woman, when did you become like this? And who invited me for dinner?” I could see her gait change as I asked that question. “Who else can invite you for dinner and buy you the dress? Don't try to spoil anything with the wrong way you handle things; I won't take it likely with you!” I laughed, “I was just joking with you. Everyone knows it's Henry, Henry, Henry..” I k
Chapter Seventy -six Annabelle_ I knew no one knew me personally outside because I do not talk to people or stay in public places. “Someone else must be bearing my name here.” Brooklyn looked back to see who was calling me. “Oh My!” Her face glowed as she smiled I turned to look at who could make Brook gleam. It was Prisca. “Wow! Prisca. It's been a long time. I must say, you look very nice.” Everyone knew Prisca. It's funny. She was once forcing herself to be in a relationship with Henry. I genuinely do not know if they had a thing later on when I got married. “I know right…” Prisca smiled. I felt it was weird meeting her at that spot where we were. I began to feel uncomfortable because Prisca and Brook were close when they were little so I understand the joy Brooklyn felt when she saw her. Brook does not know all the other things that had happened while she was away from her. “You look so tall. I can't believe I'm seeing you. How have you been?” Brook's joy was palpable. I j
Chapter Seventy -seven Annabelle_ I was going to make the same excuse I regularly make for him, “he's a changed person” but I knew within me that it was wrong to keep doing that so I just stayed quiet, letting Brooklyn pour her mind to me. “I want what will make you happy. I wish to see you very happy but I don't think being with Travis is what would make you happy.” I began to reconsider my thoughts on Travis and me. The thought of having Travis makes me feel happy but when I'm with him I don't know how to enjoy the happiness I feel. I feel like it's because of the things I have achieved that I'm able to stand in front as an honorable woman. “Thank you, Brook.” I know what to do now. She looked at me like she understood all I was going through and hugged me. Brooklyn just loves hugging. “So don't let's keep him waiting.” She pulled me up and dragged me to the mirror. “Shall we begin the transformation?” I nodded just a little and took a deep breath. Brook weaved my hair
