Elena’s POV

“Let’s start with small things”, I said, my voice firm but gentle. “No more secrets, no more lies. From now on, we’re honest with each other, no matter what”.

Alex nodded his eyes locked on mine. “I promise Elena. I’ll be transparent about everything. My past, my present, my future. It’s all yours to know “.

I nodded, a small smile on my lips. “Good. Because I want to know everything about you Alex. The good, the bad, the ugly. I want it all”.

Alex’s face lit up with a relieved smile. “I’m ready to share it all with you, Elena. Let’s start with my past, with Rachel…

“No,” I interrupted, my hand up. “Not yet. I’m not ready for that. But I am ready to know more about your life now, your interests, your dreams … the things that make you who you are”.

Alex’s face softened, his eyes warm with understanding. “Okay Elena. I understand. Let’s start with something simple then. What do you want to know?”
