Chapter 3 Night and horror

I stopped when the road parted. It was three ways ahead. I looked at them for a while. I really didn't know where to go. I quietly went to the roadside and sat on a bench.

I began to think about what had just happened. A while ago, I had a home, a family, mom, dad, and a little sister. I had a plan for the future. I graduated from college. Oh, I forgot tomorrow was my test for entrance, and now just a few moments later I am homeless. My family, which I claimed to be mine, was not mine... I found out I was adopted. I have no place to live. I have nothing, just this life... God why did you give me this life? Wait, who gave me this life? Who were my parents? Why did they leave me alone, unconscious? Did they abandon me? Arrhhhhhhh.... I cried out in frustration. Tears were coming out again.. .

I shook my head. Wipe my tears. "No girl. You can't lose like this." I said to myself... "Everything happens for a reason. Maybe this too."

I fished out my phone from my pocket and dialed Cami. Camila Miller. She is my best friend. She is an orphan. We graduated from the same college. We are together from our junior high school. She is one of the very few people who treats me well. She recently got an apartment and a job. So I think I can live with her for a while.

"What the hell ley.. Why are you calling me at midnight? Do you want me to get bags under my eyes?" She yelled, half awake.

"Hey Cami...umm.. Can you take me in for tonight?" I asked her hesitantly.

"What happened?? Is everything alright?" she asked.

"Yeah yeah.. Everything is okay. I'll tell you when I get there. Ok?"

"Where are you now? Do you need me to come over? You sound like you are not okay. Did you just cry?" She asked with concern. I felt somewhat warm inside. After all the things that happened to me today, I need this a lot.

"No... I'm fine... I know your password, so you just sleep. I'll be there in a while."

"Okay, came fast. I'll try not to sleep." she said, a yawn following closely behind.

"Alright," I said, hanging up the phone.

And I moved toward her apartment. It wasn't that far, but I didn't have a car today, and the incident that happened earlier was enough to send chills down my spine.

When I moved a few steps forward, I heard a loud scream. Rather roar... I was so terrified that my steps halted... I slowly turned around, just to see a huge animal running towards me.

It was a wolf... A big black wolf...bigger than any normal wolf... I wanted to run away but somehow I couldn't. I just can't get myself to move a step and run for my life. I stood there frozen. Looking at that big wolf running towards me... It was coming closer and closer... I know it was my last time... It was my death.... After so much pain that I got today, is this how I was going to die?

I closed my eyes and waited for the pain to come, but it didn't. Just a loud thud. When I opened my eyes, that wolf was on the ground. I looked at it. Those beautiful brown eyes... It was so... So mesmerizing.. This wolf has a pleasant scent coming from it. After looking at it for a while, I didn't feel scared; instead, I felt like looking at it.

And then I heard a sound: "mate." I looked around to find the source of the sound. But I don't find anyone. Maybe it was just an illusion. When I looked back at the wolf, I saw that it was covered in blood. Looking at the blood oozing out, somehow my heart ached. I slowly stretched my right hand to touch the wolf. But before I could touch it, the wolf closed his eyes.

"There he is."

I looked at the source of the sound. There were three girls. Three beautiful girls in their late 20s

Who were they? Were they the reason that this wolf was hurt? I thought to myself.

But again, why would they hurt a wolf?

A girl came forward and closed her eyes. Take both of her hands in front of her chest and form a circle in the air. I don't even know what she was doing. Then the other girls also did the same. After a while, something unusual happened. A kind of light was emerging from their hands.

What the hell were they doing?

Were they magicians??

They take the light or whatever they formed and throw it towards the wolf. The others did the same.

The wolf screamed loudly in pain, and so did I in horror. I don't know what I was seeing...

I can't believe my eyes... Maybe I was hallucinating, but the wolf closed its eyes. After the wolf closed his eyes, I saw him slowly turning into a human.

I was scared to death. What the hell on earth was happening? Did I just see that? Am I hallucinating? Am I going insane because of the incident earlier?

I took a step backward. The wolf in front of me had turned into a human. It was naked and facing the ground. What just happened?

I saw three girls doing magic and a wolf. No...no big wolf turning into a human... Now I was certain that I had gone insane.

I turned to look at those girls. They, on the other hand, were also looking at me. I wanted to run away, but where can I run.. I mean, they do magic. So what is the point of running? They'll catch me anyway, right?

A blonde girl was coming forward... She again closed her eyes and put both hands in front of her chest, forming a circle. And I saw the same light forming again. I was so afraid that I blocked my vision with both hands. I knew she was going to kill me the way she did to that wolf.

I was so afraid... This was it... Whatever happened today was out of this world: a man trying to rape me....finding out my mom sold me... To know I was adopted... And then meeting magicians....and a wolf or human.. or whatever...

In a very second, everything was coming and going in front of my eye... I don't know why it happened. But whatever happened today, in spite of the pain, I wanted to live.. But why was I going to die? I thought to myself, and suddenly I felt anger developing inside me for god for giving me this kind of life, for my parents who abandoned me, for my mom who sold me, for my sister for not thinking of me as her sister when I did everything for her...

I felt anger and hatred building inside me, and I felt hot.. I was getting hotter and hotter, then I heard screams...

When I opened my eyes, those girls who were about to hurt me were on fire.... Three of them were surrounded by a huge fire. Slowly, they were burning, and their screams became smaller.

I was so overwhelmed by the scene that finally I saw everything black...
