Chapter 10 Went to sleep

When I woke up, Cami was at my bedside with a bowl of porridge. My forehead was covered with a cold towel. There was a bowl filled with water at the bedside. I tried to wake up, but my body felt like it had gained 1000 pounds at once. It was hard even to move my body from the bed. And it was so hot in the room that I felt like I was burning.

Seeing me struggling to wake up, Cami came forward to help me. She put a pillow on me and adjusted my back.

"What happened?? Why did you suddenly get a fever?" She took my hand in hers.

"Cami, Dad came to my company today." I told her.

"What?? Why?Did he say anything?" She was concerned about me.

I told her everything. It was hard to keep my tears in front of her. I cried as she held me tight in her arms.

"What do you wanna do??Are you going back?" she asked as she was patting my shoulder. It was so soothing that I felt calm inside.

I shook my hand. Now sobbing in a little sound.

"Its okay. You don't have to cry. If you want to go, go after you are recovered. And if you don't go, he'll always love you. Now don't think about it and have some porridge. You have to get better for me. Ok?? "

She calmed me as if I were a little baby. I nodded. And have some porridge she made me. And went to bed.

The next day, my fever was under control. Though my body was ill, my fever decreased a lot. My work starts at 10, and it was already 9:50 when Cami drove me to the company. I walked toward the elevator in a hurry. When I reached there, I pressed the button, but the lift wouldn't open. It had already taken 10 minutes to open the lift. But it was of no use. Then I went towards the stairs. My floor was 4th, and my body was exhausted from the fever. It was so hard going up the stairs. When I reached the 4th floor, another 10 minutes were wasted.

When I reached there, I was panting hard. I looked at my colleagues. Everyone was talking to each other. This made my heart feel a little relieved. I went to my desk and sat down.

"Why is there so much noise?" Why aren't you working?" Mr.Nolan's angry voice came from behind.

Everyone got up from their seats and looked at him.

"I said, why aren't you all working?" He again said it angrily.

"Sir, today's work hasn't been submitted to us till now." Olivia explained and looked at me.

Wait what?? Why did she smile at me? Did I forget anything?

I looked at her. I was not even sure what was going on.

"Who's turn is it today?" Nolan looked coldly at us.

Hell no... Shit... It was my turn. Ahe told me yesterday. Damn it girl... How can you forget? I started cursing myself, but this wasn't helping anyway.

"It's Riley" Ahe came forward and spoke, "I was the last one,and she is a new one. So it's her today."

Nolan looked at me. And I felt chills down my spine. He looked at me for a while and asked, "Did you know it was your turn?"

I nodded. Since I knew it, there was no point in lying.

"Came to my office," he said, going towards the office.

I followed him. I'm scared right now.

"Why didn't you come to take those files?" He spoke as soon as we entered his office.

"I... I forgot," I said softly, looking in his direction.

He looked at me, and he frowned a little. Then he quickly looked away and asked me to leave with those files.

When I picked up the files, they were a little heavy. I picked it up somehow, but it was hard to move with. I went outside the office. Luckily Anyee came and helped me.

When I was giving Olivia her files. She asked if my salary was cut off because I was late.

"No. He said nothing. "I replied genuinely.

"How could it be?" When someone did the same thing before,he would cut off their salary. "

"How would I know?" I said and turned to leave.

She looked at me and spoke in a little high volume, "Could it be you already seduced him?"

I looked at her, shocked. How could she? I wanted to slap her.

"Don't talk nonsense, Olivia," I retorted.

"If not,why did he let you go so easily when he would cut half the salary of others?" She said it with a sarcastic tone.

"How would I know? Why don't you ask yourself?" I said and left the table.

She was unreasonable. For sure, she won't listen to me.

It's better if I won't be bothered by her.

When it was noon. I felt hot all over my body. I knew my fever had returned. I wanted to sleep. Even keeping my eyes open was hard for me. My body felt so heavy.

At break, I didn't go for lunch. Instead, I decided to take a nap.

It was hard to make Anyee go alone. But since I was not fine and wanted to take a nap,she agreed.

After she went, I slept for a while. Then I felt thirsty and went to the pantry area to look for water. It was hard to even take a step forward. Still, I managed to get there.

I drank a mouthful of water. And turned out to exist. When I was about to exist,my leg slipped. I thought I would fall to cold ground. Instead, I fall into a warm embrace.

I looked up and saw Mr. Reid frowning at me. He helped me stand up.

"Thank you," I murmured under my breath.

I wanted to leave. I'm not in a good state now, and I don't want to fall again. I thought about it and tried to leave.

"Did you go to see a doctor?" Mr.Reid asked from behind.

"No sir, I'll go after the working hour."

He didn't say anything, and he let me go.

When I took another step forward, I felt dizzy again. And I felt like I was going to fall again.

But I didn't fall; instead, Mr.Reid took me in his arms and moved toward the elevator.

"I'm fine, sir. I can walk," I tried to say as loudly as I could. But I wasn't loud enough.

He looked at me and frowned again.

"We are going to the hospital," "he said and got into the elevator.

I wanted to say something, but I feel so dizzy. I don't even want to talk.

I just want some sleep. Slowly, I found a comfortable place and went to sleep.
