I pushed the door open slowly, my gaze landing on Ethan whose face was pale and when our gazes clashed, there was this glint of excitement in his eyes.

His mum fed him porridge as I took tiny steps towards him.

“How are you, Ethan?” My voice was low.

He nodded subtly while his mum swung her head in my direction, a bright smile spreading through her face as soon as her eyes met mine.

“My dear, you are here. He woke up as soon as you left. He couldn’t keep your name off his mouth and when he opened his eyes, he looked for you first”

Anxiety crept at the back of my neck while a faint smile formed on my face, sitting on the bed. “You are sure that you are fine?”
