My stomach lurched when I heard the devastating words that Aiden said about me. His words affected me and it wasn't because he was wrong, it was because he was damn right!

I was using Ethan the same way he did. I guess that made us even.

I bit on the sandwich, almost squirming in the chair as soon as I noticed that Ethan’s gaze lingered on my face. I raised my head, locking eyes with him. “Why are you not eating?”

Ethan’s lips curved into a smile as he leaned forward. “I want to watch you eat”

Okay! Why did my stomach flutter right now?

I cleared my throat. “We came to have lunch together. You didn't come to watch me eat”l took another bite of the sandwich.

Ethan heaved an exasperated sigh and I was about to sip on my drink when he caught my hands midway.

He took the full weight of my gaze and muttered under his breath. “Are you sure that everything is okay?”

I was at a loss for words to say at first before I finally responded to him. “I am fine…..”My words trailed
