Chapter 53 –  I Am Okay

(Finn’s POV)

As the elevator door opened, my heart stopped beating when I saw Lexi at her table, already working at seven in the morning. The ringing phone saved us from talking, letting me walk past her, and going to my office without greeting her.

When I got inside, the folders I had for my approval and signature were already on my table with notes 'For Signing' and 'For Approval'. She had placed a printed copy of my schedule with a message, ‘emailed already.’ I sighed, thinking she did not plan to talk to me today.

Colonel went out, pushing the swing door as if checking on me but went back inside. Jimmy brought him early today because I would be bringing him to the vet later.

I sat on my chair, taking the folder over the others and reading the document before signing it. When the door opened, Lexi came in with papers and went to the center table, preparing for my first meeting today. Glancing at the schedule she printed, my first meeting was a progress report from Romeo.
