Chapter 56 –  I Said Yes

(Lexi’s POV)

Still half-asleep, I rolled to my bed and reached for my phone. My eyes widened in shock, gasping as I got up when I saw it was already ten in the morning.

“Lexa, why didn’t you wake me up?” I cried, dashing to the bathroom, but my sister pulled the hem of my shirt, shaking her head.

“Your jaw-dropping handsome boss, my boyfriend, called me this morning and told me you’re not going anywhere today.” She frowned at me, giving me a sullen look as she placed her hands on her hips. “Why didn’t you tell me you’re sick?” When I didn’t answer, she raised her eyebrows at me and pointed her index finger to the bed. “Go back in there, weakling.”

I sneered at her, hating my twin sister whenever she called me a weakling, but I went back to bed, following her order.

“Lexi,” she called me, but I rolled to my other side, turning my back on her. “I knew this would happen to you,” she sighed, rubbing my back. “Do you want Mom and Dad to get mad at me?”

“No,” I whimpered, puckering my lips.
