Twelfth Chapter

Even after telling him I was completely fine, Rain insisted on holding my hands as we headed down the stairs of my apartment building. A gesture that I found very cute, visibly giggling like a schoolgirl. He didn't let go until I was safely behind the passenger door of his black truck. My excited eyes watched him through the windshield making his way to the driver's side. I didn't realize how wide my smile was until he was strapping his seatbelt and looked at me. I quickly looked away but I wasn't fast enough.

I felt his fingers circle under my chin. Steadily, he turned my face to meet his. “I caught you, Raya." he mumbled.

I was unsuccessful at trying to hide away my smile. With a matching smile, he pulled my face closer to his, leaning in as he did so. In a second our lips met. A short, sweet kiss.
