Seventy-ninth Chapter

Maya had her arm in mine as we walked into Devin's house, the venue for the party. I could tell from the way she walked, clinging onto me with both hands, that she was very nervous. It became worse when we walked into the building, through the glass doors, turning more than a few heads.

I intentionally paused, letting my eyes sweep through the crowd for any familiar faces. I locked eyes with a few lustful observers, which only gave me more confidence to stand with high shoulders. I caught sight of a makeshift bar by the kitchen counter to the left of the big room. I instantly decided we needed something to drink. Especially Maya, something that was going to ease her tensed muscles.

Settling my eyes on the prize, I seductively strut in its direction. I could see it all. The turning heads, the undressing eyes, the slightly gaping mouths. It excited me more than I imagined it would.

“Vodka shots please," I demanded when we arrived.
