"Excuse me?!”
I lost control over my voice and I basically screamed. I felt so many emotions at once. Anxiety, fear, shock, disbelief. I was panicking, my heart thumping louder than ever. My stomach tied into knots, and it was almost difficult to breathe.“You heard me Raya," he pushed his way into the apartment, marching past me. “Are you sleeping with my father?"Hearing him say the words again didn't make me feel any better. I was losing it inside, like monkeys screaming and jumping from tree to tree with their fingers rummaging madly through their hair.“Jesus Christ Rain, what on earth are you talking about?!"I allowed the genuine shock I felt to express my disbelief in what he was saying."My father moved Anna to a new, and according to my mother, a more expensive hospital,” his mother. Of course. No other person could put such a thought into his head. When I realized he was working based on an assumption, aRain came back to my apartment with me after seeing Anna. Both of them seemed to have this cute bond because I started to feel like she was happier to see him than to see me. She even included him in her tiktok videos, calling him her big brother. If the skin around the lips wasn't held tightly together, mine would have torn from the so much smiling I did while watching my sister and Rain fool around. When we returned, it was a bit into the evening. We had dinner, had an intense session that he passed out from and since I couldn't sleep, I decided to watch a Netflix series on his ipad. The ultimate Netflix and chill with a big bag of chips that I ate as quietly as I could in order not to wake my slumbering man. An hour into my series, Rain's phone started to ring. All the while it rang, he didn't flinch once. I guess he was really burnt out. Knowing that I could make him that tired after a session gave my confidence a boost. Less than a second after it rang out,
The satisfaction from watching her smile disappear was next to none. She stared at me in complete silence, shocked but not pleasantly surprised. “Didn't expect to meet you here.” I continued, slipping my arm into Rain's. He was quiet, also shocked to see her, also not pleasantly surprised. I seemed to be the only person with a smile on my face. Her horror filled eyes swayed to Rain who stood still beside me. “What is she doing here?" I was instantly irritated. The guts she had to ignore me, not only that, she rudely questioned my appearance. “You asked me to meet you here,” she went on. I watched the shock behind her eyes, slowly metamorphosed into anger. “And then you come with her." She began to raise her voice. The foolish girl was making my job easier for me. To keep up my ruse, I turned to Rain. "Asked to meet her here?” when my confused voice sounded in his ears, he looked at me. "You asked to meet her?”
Rain left my apartment early. Something about school work and what not. I wasn't listening because I didn't care that much. Actually I didn't care at all. After he left, I rang David up and found out he was by himself at the mansion. Chyna went on a two day business trip. It was another golden opportunity. After the drama at the hospital, we hadn't had any action and I didn't want him to forget how good I make him feel. So I got dressed and headed to the Tetra mansion, even though I was told to never show my face there again. Having David solidly behind me eradicated a lot of fears, especially the fear of his wife. I was slowly taking her place. Soon enough, she would lose the title of Mrs Tetra. Not that I was interested in marrying David. If my father was alive, they probably would have been the same age. However, I was just going to show her that she has no right to treat people like trash just because they are not titled or wealthy. Coming into this
The air in the bedroom was musty and hot. Even with the AC on, the sweat we had generated from our bodily movements fought back the fresh, cold breeze. Beads of sweat trailed down our sticky skin as our chests rose and fell rhythmically. “God Raya," David breathed, his gaping mouth begging for more air. "Everytime I think I've gotten used to you, you go right around and show me something new,” he paused to chuckle breathlessly. “You give me more reasons to never let you out of my sight." He pulled me closer to his chest as if I was going to bolt like my life depended on it. I latched on to him, my finger tracing the curly hairs on his chest. I inhaled the strong scent of sweat mixed with cologne that smelled out of him. It filled every space in my nostrils, crawling into my brain in a very intoxicating manner. After a long silence where we both recovered our breaths, I convinced myself that it was time to talk about my encounter earlier in the day.
I paced around the house, putting things together to leave for the hospital. I had no engagements with the Tetra men and I didn't want to be bored, so heading to Anna seemed like a bright idea. Actually, it was the only idea. If I didn't have an arrangement with David, it'll be with Rain. If I didn't have anything with Rain, it'll just have to be Anna. I occasionally thought about making some new friends, girl friends, but I always ended up shoving the thought to the back burner. My purse-bag sat on the kitchen counter as I tied my hair into a bun. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge because it's a long ride to the new hospital. Picking my bag up, I heard a knock on my door. I definitely wasn't expecting any visitors, as we had just established, I have no friends. I knew I'm my mind that it couldn't be father or son. Both of them had very tight schedules that I was aware of. The knock came again, jolting me out of my mental inquiry. The scepticism in my h
“I let you into my home and you think you call the shots!" Chyna was out of control, yelling at the top of her lungs. Her eyes stayed glued to mine, while mine darted towards my sister who also had her eyes shuffling between me and Chyna.“Who do you think you are, you sly bitch?!" Second person to call me a sly bitch in one day. I didn't care for the first time but this time, my little sister, someone who looked up to me, was involved. I couldn't bring my legs to move and my lips seemed to be tightly sealed shut. I couldn't bring myself to look at Anna either, all I did was stare into Chyna's stone cold eyes. “Even after I warned you not to come near my home, you gathered the balls to go against me,” she continued bitterly. “And not only that,” she looked around the room as she paused to cackle. "You see to it that the maids are fired. My maids, not yours!”Her voice seemed to be louder when her hate-filled eyes returne
"Rain what're you…”"Good that you're here son,” Chyna interrupted me before I could finish. She dragged her son to her side by his arm. “Tell this stupid doctor that your father pays for that sick girl's bills and…”“Oh shut up mother!" There were about four pairs of eyes in the room, including mine, and they all widened. I could tell by the look on his face when he walked in that he wasn't exactly happy to see his mother, but I would never have expected him to react that way. “Excuse me?" Chyna was in so much shock, her voice was barely audible. Rain dragged his arm out of her grip, rather too violently actually. His mother's reaction was a silent gasp and a stare of disbelief. “Aren't you ashamed of yourself?”He spat with his back to her as he walked into the room, moving a little away from her. He stopped a few metres beside Anna's bed before he turned to his stunned mother. “Everywhere you g
Rain drove me home after everything was settled at the hospital. He made sure he left a picture of his mother at the security office so she could be easily spotted if she came around the premises. He tried to ring his father but I stopped him with a flimsy excuse. I needed to be the one to report the incident to David. Rain wasn't going to make it more dramatic than it actually was and I needed to do so to make David more angry at his wife. When all was said and done, we drove to a restaurant for lunch. On my request, we did take out. I was too tired from all the drama I had gone through in just one day. All I needed was the comfort of my shaky bed. Minutes after placing our order, we were on our way to my apartment with a pox of pizza, two burgers, chips and two cups of smoothies. I couldn't wait and already began sipping my smoothie before we got home. “I never want to repeat today ever again." Rain sighed as I opened the door into my apartment. He pa
