The man stared coldly at Frederick, and scoffed.

"You've got guts, I'll give you that. Maybe you should ask around what Jack Hill used to do. Did you know I collect protection fees from every shop on this street?"

"Oh, so you’re just a thug, right? A glorified street bully?" Frederick replied nonchalantly.

Selene's face turned pale as she realized the situation was getting dangerous. She quickly interjected, "Fred, let's just leave the bag. We don’t need to stay here."

Jack chuckled menacingly. "Leave? Too late for that. You've got some nerve!"

He then ordered the sales assistant, "Bring thirty thousand dollars in cash!"

The sales assistant was stunned. "Mr. Hill? You really want to give them money?"

Without a word, Jack grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the counter, shattering a piece of the tempered glass. Her face became a bloody mess, and she whimpered incoherently, "Sir, please have mercy!"
