"Of course not! Xerxes was a sly old fox, and it was only a matter of time before he slipped up," Frederick denied quickly, shaking his head. Then, he asked, "Did Judith contact you?"

"She just called me. She assured me her family's support for us remains unwavering, and that they'll even increase their efforts," Jennifer said, her eyes gleaming. "She seems like someone easier to deal with than Xerxes."

Frederick smiled faintly. "That's good to hear."

After all, he had orchestrated Judith's rise himself. How could she not be favorable towards Je
