“Mr. Hunt!”

The two guards’ faces went pale at the sight of Dominic. They stumbled, and nearly fell over in their panic. Dropping the tools they were holding, they fell to their knees.

“Mr. Hunt, what brings you here today? Are you here for an inspection? We didn’t receive any notice from above!”

Dominic said coldly, “Do you want me to give you an official notice right now? Should I go to the office and sign it for you?”

“No, of course not! W-We wouldn’t dare!” the guards stammered. “You’re the highest authority in the state! With you here, why would we need a signed order?”

They lowered their heads repeatedly, like dogs begging for scraps.

“Release him immediately! We’re taking him with us!” Willa shouted.

“Huh? You’re taking Sheldon? But he’s the most wanted outlaw in Aston State, and personally sought after by the state government office! We can’t just let him go!”

The guards’ faces went ashen, looking like they had seen a ghost.
