BAB 146 I I Don't Know

Mia took her time leaving the restaurant. She looked around and noticed Rey leaning against the car door. Anne, who had been following from behind, also came to a halt.

They both looked at Rey, who was still waiting with their eyes fixed.

“Is that your husband?” Ruella inquired as she approached the door.

There were now three pairs of eyes on Rey at the same time.

“No,” Mia said as she walked ahead. “He is my husband’s friend.”

“I assumed your husband was following you here.”

Mia’s steps were almost halted by Ruella’s words. She covered it up, however, and resumed her walk.

After all, it’s already been three days.

Even though she didn’t want Jaxon to follow her, it didn’t mean she didn’t expect him to be there. Wouldn’t that show her how hard he’s trying to win her back? Or she’s simply too naive.

Why had Jaxon come there after she had clearly left him?
