IRIS
GET MARRIED? I didn't know how to feel as he said those words but one thing was sure. What I was feeling right now was irritation and rage. How dare he come now and tell me this nonsense?! “You know what, Gavin. You're so full of yourself. Yes, you might have my son with you and he would know already that I'm his mother, but it has nothing to do with you. Five years ago, you rejected me and I've got my pride as a woman.” I said through gritted teeth before turning to walk away, but he grabbed my arm firmly before I could leave. “Please, Iris. Don't act this way…” “What way?”I asked already feeling irritated. I tried to keep my voice in check so I wouldn't cause a scene here. A scandal was the last thing I wanted for the Green family right now. “I am just acting like a reasonable woman would actually act.” Yanking my hand free from his grip, I walked over to Logan and Lyra where they were both standing and talking to each other. My heart swelled with joy as I watched Lyra engage in a calm conversation with Logan, without her usual habit of constantly glancing around for me. "Lyra, sweetie, it's time to go home," I called out to her, trying to sound gentle but firm. She turned to me reluctantly, before taking Logan's hand and hiding behind him. "But I want to stay with Logan," she pouted with a childlike whine. Logan, to my surprise, didn't seem to mind the idea of spending more time with Lyra. He stood his ground, a warm smile on his face, as Lyra peeked out from behind him. The sight of them together was almost too adorable to bear - my heart felt like it was going to burst but I hid my emotions to avoid any suspicion. It pained me to think that I would have to leave Logan again, after just reuniting with him in person after all these years. The thought of parting ways with him, even temporarily, felt like a fresh wound. I wanted to read a bedtime story to him, cuddle him up and make him feel the warmth of having a mother, but I couldn't do that. Having Lyra alone, the Green family had invincible knives against my throat. “We'll call you, okay Logan?” I said while kneeling to his height and ruffling his hair. “Lyra and I have to leave now.” “Can she come over to my house to play? She said you're not from this pack. I can ask daddy to make you come over here, because he's the alpha.” He said hurriedly, not wanting to let go of Lyra. “I don't want that sweetheart. I promise you, Lyra will call and visit you, okay?” I gave him a reassuring smile, and he didn't seem like he was going to trust me, but he turned to Lyra instead. “I'll call you?” He said to her and she hesitantly nodded before walking over to me and she hugged my leg tightly while looking back at her brother who waved gently. If only she knew… “Thank you sweetheart.” I gave him a kiss on his forehead before lifting Lyra up and walking out of the venue. I didn't bother looking back at Gavin but I knew he was looking at Lyra and I till as we left. Seeing the two of them say goodbye made my heart shatter into a thousand pieces but there was nothing I could do. Gavin wasn't just going to let me take him away from him without wanting something over the board in return. ** I sat behind my desk tapping my pen against my pad doing nothing in particular. Since I returned from the gala two nights ago, I've been unable to get a good sleep due to worry. I was worried about my own mental health even. “Can I come in?” Helen asked while peeping in through the door. “You are in.” I said through gritted teeth and she walked over to me with a stack of papers in her hands. Seeing the incoming work, I cursed under my breath in frustration. “Shit!” “You have guests.” Her voice accompanied the huge thud of papers on my table. “The family advisors want to have lunch with you.” “I have a schedule you know…” “They canceled all your appointments for today, by personally meeting the person you have an appointment with. Mr Heyman.” She said and I let out a groan before sinking deeper into my chair. “Can't you just attend the meeting in my place?” The advisors were a pain in the butt and I don't know why the Green family had them in the first place. It would take more than just my protest to get them out of their position even though I am the head of the family now. I reluctantly got to my feet and headed down into the huge dining hall. I was starting to regret the fact that I decided to work from home and didn't just spend my days in the office. As I stepped into the dining hall, I could see the four advisors seated. They weren't the only ones present, but my mother and… father too. Seeing him here just made my mood sour immediately. “What is he doing here?” I asked Helen who patted my back gently. “It's a meeting that would involve the last family heads.” Helen whispered to me and without greeting any of them, I headed towards my seat and let out a sigh as I sat down with Helen standing next to me. “I see you've been lacking manners lately, Iris Green.” The first advisor, Old ma'am Jane, commented as I stared at all of them. “I am busy trying to do a good job for the Green family. I have enough on my plate already, so whatever it is I had to cut off my work for, it better be worth my time.” I replied with my gaze falling on my father who didn't even bother looking in my direction and I wasn't worried. “We know you have a daughter now, Iris. And as you requested, we shouldn't intrude in your personal life. But there is one thing you must know…” Old man Earl said, stealing glances at the others. “You have to get married as soon as possible, Iris.”IRIS.HAPPY WITH HER TWIN“Married?” I raised a brow while looking at all of them. “Who came up with this foolish suggestion?” “Isn’t it enough that you had a child for a man we do not know? It is against the family's rules and I don't see why you should have been made the head of the family in the first place…”“Do you want to continue with your position as the family head? Because I would gladly take you, if I have to, to get away from this ridiculousness you all are basking in, father-.” I replied sarcastically, obviously livid. “You need to listen to me, Iris.” He slammed his fist against the table which irritated me more than I already was irritated. “As the family head, you have to sacrifice a lot of things. Whether you like it or not, you have to get married. The advisors would give to you those we have settled the deal with…”Before he could go any further, I stood up and walked out of the room. I heard them calling after me but I've just had enough. “I'll talk to her.” I he
GAVINYOU JUST WAIT!I could see the change in her expression when I brought up our twin's custody. I didn't know what to expect, but I had to try my luck anyway. I didn't want her to disappear from me again, I missed her but I can't show any affection so this is the best option.“What do you mean by our children's custody?” She asked with a raised brow. “Whatever it is your motives are, Gavin, know that I'm not going to dance to your tone.” “What a shame. You haven't even listened to me, Iris.” I chuckled briefly, leaning my chin against my knuckles. “It might be beneficial for not only you and me but the two of them also.”Hearing this, she leaned back in her chair with her arms folded across her chest but she was staring daggers at me from across the table. I had to admit one thing, and that was that she looked dang hot with her fierce look. “We are not sure whether Logan knows Lyra is his sister yet, but it's only a matter of time before he realizes that. I mean, she's the perfe
GAVIN. THE RUSSEL BLOODThe loud music in the club filled my entire senses as I headed towards the rooftop which was a bit quiet compared to the noise downstairs. When Jerry told me he would be opening his club, I didn't expect it to be a damn huge club with a beautiful hotel right inside the building. “Thanks for coming,” Jerry said as I walked towards him immediately I got to the rooftop. It's been a while since I saw him this free since he was always busy with work.“It's fine.” I patted his shoulder gently.Walking over to the bar, I ordered a drink while looking around. It was the VIP floor and the strippers were there and those who serve men were busy going from one man to another. It's just something one would expect from Jerry. “Gavin.” A feminine voice called out to me and I turned to see her walking in my direction. “Felicia.” I mumbled as she stopped before me. “I haven't seen you since graduation, Alpha.” She chuckled, handing me the glass the bartender had pushed to
IRIS.BLIND DATE“What is it this time, Helen?” I groaned as I stared at her through the FaceTime we were on. For a reason, she ended up drunk and had a serious hangover. She knew she fell sick after getting drunk and should drink lightly, but went ahead to get super drunk. This was the fifth time my phone has been ringing with her calls. “I asked June to send in some files to you this morning. And it was one from Gavin.” As she said his name, my hand that was hovering over the iPad which was before me stopped. “About the custody he requested the other day.” I started to search for the file on my table and soon found it. Forcing the cover open, I could see the heading. He was freaking serious about this custody shit. I haven't been a good mother to Logan and I don't think I'm ready to face him right now and admit the fact that I am his mother to him. How would he look at me? For all these five years, I just left him without a mother figure in his life, just because I wanted to get
IRISDEAL!I looked up at the man clad in a fitted black suit with neatly cut brown hair standing before me. He had a bright smile, and I knew he was familiar. “Jude,” I called and he flashed a bright smile before taking his seat before me. The last thing I expected was for those damned advisors to get someone I am acquainted with as my date. “So it's true. You really are from the Green family.” He said. “I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, but I was practically forced here.” “I understand.” I bluntly replied as I waved the waiter over to get my order. I had a lot of things to do and I wasn't here for any catching up of any sort. “I'll take a cup of juice.” “Yes, Miss Green.” The waiter bowed before turning to Jude for his order. Jude used to be one of those admiring me from afar when I was in college. I knew about it because Helen didn’t hesitate to spill the tea of anyone who spoke about me to me, but I've never spoken to him more than two times and it was a forced conversation.
GAVIN. MATING SEASON “Did you hear? The alpha made a project deal with the Greens.” “I don't believe it. The same Greens?” “Yes…”I let out a low growl as I pushed the doors of the conference room open. The entire room which was a second ago filled with their gossiping became silent. I should be having a meeting with Iris this morning and I didn't sleep a wink last night. I was busy thinking of my strategy to bring her in as I progressed with the business, and before I knew it, it was dawn. So I was extra cranky early this morning. “They're here.” Jerry said to me as I settled at the head of the table. The doors were pushed to the side and there she was, standing in a formal outfit. The black dress she wore underneath kissed her curves perfectly and she had a white coat draped over her shoulders. Her blonde hair was down, making her look like an angel. Looking at her before me made me aroused for some reason and her sweet scent mixed with the mate scent didn't help my situatio
IRISA MISTAKE?What on earth was I thinking when I accepted to come over during his rut? As I sat there and he was staring at me all through the meeting, I could feel the tugging in my chest and our bond pulling me towards him. Ever since he dumped me back then, I've been so focused in work to help me take my mind off him. Of course I liked him before we had a one night stand, it wouldn't be easy to toss him aside. “Tch.” I gritted my teeth as I walked towards the car where Helen was waiting for me already. "As she opened the car door for me, she remarked, 'That was quick.' I didn't register her comment until she slid in beside me, her face inches from my neck, her warm breath sending a shiver down my spine."“Don't tell me.” She said with her hand reaching for my coat to pull it away. “Don't tell me you had an intimate session with him…”“What are you talking about?” I frowned and she took out her phone, took a picture and showed it to me with a smug grin. “He gave you a hickey
IRIS.CURIOUS LYRA My heart fluttered as Lyra rushed into my arms to give me a big hug. I ruffled her hair gently before hugging her back and squatting to reach her height. “How was school today, my love?” I asked her as I placed a kiss on her forehead. “I had a lot of fun. I exchanged foods with Logan and his dad made some mashed potatoes and carrots. I loved it.” She squealed and I looked up at Logan who was just standing there watching us. “Come, Logan.” I gestured to him with my arms open and he sprinted over, hugging me tightly. I fought back tears as emotions overwhelmed me. This was an opportunity I didn't have all these years, to just hug him and kiss him as I do for Lyra. I felt like a bad mother who chose one child over another just for her personal gain. “How was school today, sweetheart?” I asked him with a sweet smile, trying to cover up my tears filled eyes. “It was great.” He replied, his eyes twinkling as he looked up at me. “Dad said Lyra would be coming over for
