Miles dragged the body away, and we covered the split blood fast enough before the door got ripped open, and Summer peered out, her eyes wide.

She looked so tempting, with her hair sticking to her face and her enormous eyes looking up at us with childlike innocence. Everything about Summer was perfect.

Mike nudged me, gesturing towards her. Swallowing, when I noticed the suspicious expression on her face, I tried to grin.

“… Sum… Darling!” Forcing a smile to prevent her from noticing what was wrong, I approached her. “You startled us. We would —”

“Where's Miles?” She asked with a frown, glancing towards our car, which was parked in the outdoor garage.

We were eager to get to her, which was why we packed the car there. But with the way her eyes narrowed, I could tell she was deep in thought, trying to figure out why we didn't drive the car in instead of packing it outside.
