SUMMER

Nelly stopped coming to the house after that. I didn't get to hear from her from my mates either. They acted like she didn't exit, which wasn't difficult since they had never spoken of her before. We returned to how we have always been, with my mates acting secretively around me. Not for the first time, I wanted to confront them, to ask what they were keeping from me, but I kept it to myself. If they wished to keep the secret from me, it means they had their reasons for doing that.

I could only wait for them to trust me enough to tell me what the problem was. This way, they wouldn't have to shoulder it alone.

After my lunch break, I strode back to the room to rest. I had been working all morning. Though they asked me to have a rest in between, I worked to keep myself busy, so I wouldn't think of the secretive glances, they shared between themselves.

I bet they converse in their mind whenever I was in the same room with them. It was off-putting whenever I thought of that, but

MITCHI should have known telling her would only endanger her. Back when I gave my brothers the solution, I thought she would listen to us and keep her nose off the matter, but she was too stubborn to do that. For two days, she had been investigating with us, not letting us leave without taking her. Despite everything we did to get her to stay back, she stubbornly refused, threatening to work alone if we didn't let her go with us. We had to let her tag along because that sounded better than leaving her to work alone. With us, we could keep her safe and away from the killer. The same couldn't be said should we let her investigate alone. “Didn't you say this was the best solution?” Mike groaned, downing his cup of coffee. “I feel like I have aged these past few days. Summer is one stubborn mate. How the hell did we end up with her?”I chuckled at that, while Miles shot him a glare. “Haven't we always had a crush on her? The moon goddess just gave us a push and challenged us to man up

She didn't seem surprised by that because it was something we kept telling her all week. We wanted nothing to do with her or whatever message she wished to relay to us. We just want her out of the pack, never to return. Was that too much to demand after everything her father did? “Please, you have got to listen to me. I promise I won't disturb you after this if you will listen to me,” she begged. “All I seek for is a chance to prove to you I came for something good,” she said with a smile. I tilted my head to the side, watching us, as I tried to think of what good news she showed up with. I turned to look at my brothers, who lifted their shoulders in a shrug, waiting for me to say something. 'Always leaving everything to me,' I grumbled through our bond. 'What can we say? You are our last baby,' Miles teased, chuckling. 'Bastard!' They have gotten immune to my curses that they don't react to it anymore. But I'd never gotten used to hearing them refer to me as the youngest. “Wh

  • My Alpha Stepbrothers Are Mine   A meeting with the pack

We didn't hear from Nelly after that day. She just got lost, knowing I might rip her head off her neck should I see her anywhere near us. I wasn't joking about that. She had to bring up memories I would rather not think about. After my brothers caught up with me, they took me to the park to calm down before we returned to the office. This way, Summer wouldn't notice there was something amiss. She was getting better at sniffing things out. “Is my dress okay?” She asked, twirling in front of me. My jaw dropped to the floor as I took in the beauty in front of me. I had to pick up my fallen jaw before answering her questions. Blinking, I stood up straighter, clearing my throat. My gaze wandered from her head to her toes, taking in the gorgeous creature. The red lace gown she wore clung to her body like a second skin. Her hourglass figure hadn't been lost since her stomach was barely showing. With her hair up in a ponytail, and her neck exposed, she looked so damned ravishing. “Goddes

SUMMERI watched Mitch as he told them the reasons for the meeting, his voice carrying out through the hall. The people in the room all had their attention fixed on him as if they might miss something important if they didn't do that. “Mitch sure missed his calling. He would have done well as a newscaster,” Miles leaned close to whisper, mocking Mitch, knowing he could hear him. I shot a glare at him, and he shut up very fast, sitting up as he focused on Mitch, looking like a well-behaved kid. I hid the smile on my face. Knowing I had such powers over my mates always gave me this intense joy. When Mitch concluded his speech, he returned to his chair next to mine, giving the people the chance to voice their opinions about the deaths. “Good morning,” Elder Maxwell greeted as he rose from his chair. “Good morning,” came the response from the others. We only nodded at him as Mitch motioned for him to proceed with what he had to say. He cleared his throat, getting ready to give his op

My mates stood at his words. “How dare you?” Mike growled at him. “Oh?” He cocked his head to the side, a small smile playing on his lips. “Pardon me, my Alphas. I was just letting them know of something you omitted.”“And you —” I held Miles, shaking my head when he turned to look at me. “You can proceed with that, Pete. Continue," I ordered, gesturing for him to complete his words. He looked stunned by my words but covered it up so fast it seemed like I had conjured that expression. “Thank you so much … Luna,” he bit out, the anger returning to his eyes. It was obvious he came for me. The bastard wanted to seek revenge for what had happened in the past. My mates turned to look at me, but I shook my head, motioning for them to sit. I knew I had to do this, or else it would cause a major problem. Should they prevent Pete from saying what he stepped out to do, he would still find a way to tell the others about it. It was better he did that in their presence, to show that their

“Are you insane?!” Mitch growled at him. “What sort of stupid proposition is this? Are you that tired of living?” Pete smiled, tilting his head to the side as he stared at him. He knew his plans were working. His words were getting to my mates. Soon, he would have what he wanted, but I wasn't about to let that happen. “That's an excellent suggestion,” I stated, rising from my seat. My mates glanced back at me, shocked by my words. The way their eyes widened as they watched me approach Pete, said it all. “I never thought of it that way. With me as a bait, the killer will show up faster. Don't you think?” I questioned, looking around. There was utter silence in the room as the rest of the people watched me, their faces awash with fear. I could tell why they were scared. They weren't terrified because of me, but my mates. “What the fucking hell are you talking about?!” Mitch gritted out through clenched teeth. I will give them credit. They managed to stay calm despite the brewing s

  • My Alpha Stepbrothers Are Mine   We won't let you do that

“You have to do what? Use yourself as bait? Listen to yourself, baby girl. This isn't any solution! You are only putting your life on the line for those who don't care about you! Can't you see that?” Mitch whirled around, his eyes blazing with barely restrained fury. “It's that bastard's fault. Had he not proposed such a stupid thing, you wouldn't be having this kind of thought.”“But —”“This is final, Summer. It's not up for debate. You are not using yourself as bait, we won't allow it!” I frowned at him, wondering what it would take for them to see what I was trying to show them. I would lie should I say I don't know how dangerous this would be, but with the right approach, we can get everything sorted out. “Won't you be there with me? You can lie waiting in the forest, and catch the killer when they try to take me. You can —”“We are not speaking of this anymore, Summer. You are not doing that and it's final. I rolled my eyes at his question as I took a helping of the fried rice and sat back. I didn't answer his questions, knowing it would bring rise to more. Though Mitch had never been this pissed with me, I had seen him with his brothers whenever he was furious at them. Replying to him would do more harm than good, which was why I pretended as if I didn't hear him. “Do you like the food?” Miles questioned, smiling at me. “Is it to your liking?”He looked shy, blushing as he waited for my reply. “Hmm. This tastes great,” I replied with a nod of my head, knowing that was something he wanted to hear. His face broke out in a smile as he leaned back on his chair, looking content. It wasn't difficult to make him smile. Just a word from me and he was already this thrilled. We ate in silence as I did everything in my power to ignore the men glaring at me. You would think they wouldn't eat tonight because they were pissed, but they did. They ended up eating almost all the meals Miles made for

“But before that, you guys need to wash up,” I said in my way stern voice. “What do you do after a full day of playing out?” “We wash up!” Blue replied while the girls groaned.“Good. It's time to do that, darlings.” The girls sighed at my words. With their shoulders drooped and matching frowns on their faces, they strode towards the stairs, with Blue skipping all the way.“How was work, darling?” Miles asked as he placed a kiss on my left cheek. “Good.” Smiling, I stepped into the kitchen to announce my return to my other mates before I went upstairs to help the kids with their bath. The girls asked to go first, so they could rush downstairs and eat the cookies their dad promised them before Blue could finish. And being the best mummy I could for my son, I bathed him first, while the girls groaned about how unreasonable this was. Really? They thought it was unfair because I didn't honour their wishes. I couldn't be blamed for that, though. Not when Blue was the only one who wo

Four Years Later“Mum!” I turned at the call, smiling as Hazel ran towards me. “See mummy, I drew a cat!” she yelled out. “Oh, darling.” I got down on one knee so I could hug her. “Let's see.” I took the drawing book from her and made a surprised expression at the cat she drew. “It's wonderful!” I leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead. “Soon, you will be so good at this, you will beat the best artists in the entire world.” “Even the humans?” She looked up, her eyes sparkling.“Yeah, those.” I patted her red hair, which was so much like my father's. Well, our babies all had red hair and blue eyes. I assumed they would have the same hair as their fathers, but they took after their grandfather. “Mum!” Scarlet and Blue ran towards me, yelling as they tried to outrun each other.Seeing how delighted they were at my return, you would think I left them for a trip, not knowing I just returned from work. • My Alpha Stepbrothers Are Mine   The mating ceremony

When I assumed things couldn't get any better, my mates proved me wrong. I didn't know they were still thinking of the mating ceremony. I had long given up on that. Despite the change of treatments from the pack; I assumed they wouldn't fully accept me. Who would have thought my mates would get them to accept me?They didn't tell me about that because the elders were still waiting for an auspicious day. As my due date got nearer, they became apprehensive. However, they didn't tell me the reason until the elders provided a date, two days before the date the doctor gave me. They were so thrilled, they almost hugged the living hell out of me. It felt like they were going to press our babies out from how happy they were as they expressed their happiness. I might not be a werewolf, but I understood how important it was for them to bond with me before the babies arrived. Father was, after all, the one who made the rules. Funny enough, I had forgotten about that until Mitch mentioned it.

  • My Alpha Stepbrothers Are Mine   I didn't mean to hurt her

SUMMERIt appeared Helen was the one who followed me. While the others burned in the house, she escaped so she would get rid of me, as revenge. It turned out her lover died in the fire with the rest.We fought with each other, and she would have hit the stone on my head, but she slipped. When I saw her on the floor, I couldn't tell what got over me as I climbed on her and used the rock she intended to kill me with on her. It wasn't until she was dead that I realized what I had just done. My hands shook as I watched her, tears streaming down my eyes at the sight of the lifeless woman I had just killed. I didn't know what to do, and could only sit there bawling out my eyes as I tried to tell the world I didn't harm her intentionally. Had she not sought to kill me, I doubt I would have harmed her. It took a lot from my mates to console me until I stopped shivering. Though I kept on muttering that I didn't mean to murder her, I wasn't as scared as I was when I hit her head with the sto

“I support that,” I added when I noticed my brothers were looking at me, waiting for my confirmation. “It's settled then. No matter how many fake tracks we will get, we have all decided to scale through them, right?” John lifted an eyebrow, waiting for our reply. “That's right.” We nodded. If he was pissed we spoke at the same time, he didn't let it show. Instead, he grinned as he turned, and soon took off. We followed him, my brothers having changed into their human form after our first fight. They realized it was easier to fight the bloodsuckers in our human forms since our wolves were vulnerable to their claws. And like that, we ended up going to ten bases. It wasn't until the last one that we got on the right track. We learned it from a vampire who recognized John. It turned out John was with the vampire prince, who ran away from home when he was eighteen and refused to return. The night we beat him up was his first day away from home. Hearing about that made us guilty. Though

MITCHIt turned out we were right by enlisting John's help. I doubt we would have discovered a trail had he not been with us. Though it was painful to say these words, I would do that. His nose was more sensitive and sharp than ours was. While we couldn't pick up a scent from the different ones in the air, he could do that. He didn't even have to continue sniffing as he went like we would have done. Not only did he discover Summer's scent among the millions in the air, but he also found out that whoever took her was working with vampires. I would have teased him about not knowing the things his pack members were involved with but thought better about it. We had far more pressing matters to do, and teasing wasn't part of it. John didn't immediately set out when he got the scent he was looking for. He kept on sniffing to make sure his nose wasn't picking up the wrong ones before he took off. My brothers changed into their wolf forms and ran after him, while I called Jeremy for reinfor

I watched him without saying a word because I didn't know what the fuck I should say. This wasn't what I was expecting. When I called the murderer a psycho, I believed he did it because of the gratification he got from shedding blood. Who would have thought they forced him to do it? I didn't blame him at all. Even though his way of taking care of things wasn't right. He shouldn't have taken matters into his hands like he did. But I still didn't fault him.Had I been in his shoes, I would have done worse than that. I was aware of how soft-hearted I was, but not in such a situation. I wouldn't have let those men stay a minute more on earth, not after all the things they did to my best friend.“I wouldn't say I understand your pain, and I won't also claim to know how you feel because I haven't experienced something like this. However, I'm not faulting the actions you took. Had I been in the same situation, I would have done the same, even worse.” He looked surprised by my words. “Reall

  • My Alpha Stepbrothers Are Mine   Fred's side of the story

SUMMERI watched Helen with a bored look on my face. “Why did you tell me that? I believe in actions and not words, Helen. I hope you realize that.” “Oh?” She grinned, not looking fazed by my remarks. “I do too. I love action more than words, Summer. Soon, you will feel a taste of it, but not now. I just want you to enjoy the peace of this place while you can.” I didn't reply to that. All I did was roll my eyes and hope she could tell her words did not bother me. The door opened and closed before I heard footsteps. Like I did when Helen stepped in, I didn't look back. I just kept my attention on the woman sitting on the bed, while waiting for the person who entered to show themselves. And when they did, I could only gape, watching Fred with shocked eyes and my mouth opened wide in surprise. “Are you two working together?” I demanded, looking from one to the other while trying to tell myself I was imagining things. I knew I wasn't when Helen smirked. “Stunned?” Fred didn't say a

He arrived a few minutes later. It was faster than we expected. And to further stun us, he ran all the way. If that wasn't freaking crazy, you got to tell me what else might be. It wasn't until he stood in front of us that we realized why we thought the scent on Summer's body was familiar. On the night Summer ran away from home after we found our mate, we went to a human bar to get drunk and ran into him. He had the most awful smell in the entire world, and that pissed us off more than anything else. To cut a long story short, we ended up hitting him to ease our pain. We might have wounded him, but we didn't care. He was an outlet for us. Though we regretted it the next morning when we sobered up, we couldn't find him. He seemed to have disappeared after the fight. That's if you would call it that. It was more like a beating than a fight since we ganged up on him. “Fancy meeting you again.” He folded his arms, staring at us with his mouth pursed. “Didn't count on meeting the bulli
