Alpha Max’s POV
It was the last thing I was expecting to hear. When Kiwi told me that Alpha Zach was inviting us to his pack I had been camping out in a country not far from where Alpha Zach’s pack was based trying to get in touch with my explorer side and breaking my thought away from Charlie.
After Charlie had left me and I finally accepted her rejection, I had to get away and spend some time focussing on myself. Do some of the things Alexander wanted to do before he died and that included exploring the world and as a triplet, it meant that Alexander could come with me in my heart.
I finally accepted Kiwi as my equal, my long lost sister, the triplet we never knew about and yes she lost it at one point but she found her way back and whilst I was away, she agreed to keep the pack in order until I returned.
She had been trying to ring me for a couple of days when I finally answered
“Alpha Zach wants you to come to his pack, they h
Alpha Zach’s POV I knew she wanted to stay here, her excitement building on my leg that was pressed between hers, her arousal filling my nostrils, but not here, not now, her head was all over the place and I could not take advantage of that, instead I break the news that Alpha Max is here. She practically throws me off of her as she stumbles to her feet “He is here, like here already?” “Yes, he is at the packhouse” “Does he know Zach, does he know that the vampire is my father?” “Not yet, but Charlie he will find out sooner or later. It is best to tell the truth” “No, he doesn’t deserve to know” Her voice had changed in pitch, it was getting higher and higher and I was afraid of what would happen if she started screaming again and I grab her chin, pressing my lips against hers, it seemed to be the only way to stop her. I could still taste the evidence of Dravens trick on her breath and as she pulled away she sig
Charlie’s POVMax's scent completely catches me off guard as Alpha Zach and I step into the house and I drop his hand.I knew he was here, Alpha Zach had already told me, what I wasn't expecting was the rush of feelings. I couldn’t see him of which I was grateful for because I was not prepared in the slightest for Max and I was not ready to face him, knowing how I had rejected him.Instead I make my excuses to Alpha Zach and run pass the closed doors where Max's scent was strongest and straight into Alpha Zach’s office, slamming the door.Thoughts were racing through my head, I had let him kiss me again, our bodies had been so close to one another and with no clothes on and now, now my ex was here, the man I still felt something for. There was a soft knock at the door and at first I ignore it but it comes again followed by Ally’s croaky voice asking to come in.Opening the door a little, her thin frame slips through t
Alpha Max’s POVAs I stand outside, I hear Charlie and move closer to listen to the girls, they were talking about dead teenagers and how their eye lids had Charlies name carved into them. As she spoke she sounded so sure of herself, a long way from where she had been a few months ago, maybe her coming here had changed her.I drop the mask concealing my scent and she spins to look at me as soon it hits her, those soft pink lips barely moving as she mutters my name but when she looks at that blue haired girl I could tell something was wrong before she managed to get his name out.Her heart was racing, the skin around her clothing flushing as she began stumbling around and I just about catch her before she hits the ground. It was strange having her this close to me so easily but right now she needed medical attention. The girl with the blue hair, Ally I think her name was rushes in after me screaming at me about not hurting her and she was warning me
Alpha Zach’s POVMax practically gallops down the steps into the secret part of the house where Adam lived, and I hear a crash followed by my brother begging him to let him go. As I take the last step I see Max’s hand wrapped around my brothers’ throat, Adams fingers desperately scrambling at Max’s hand that refused to let up“Let him go” I roar at him“He was there, he has the girls blood on him”Adam’s face was almost the shade of a beetroot, a blue tinge setting into his skin as he was starting to struggle for oxygen“I will not ask you again, let my brother go”He glances back at me, but his hand stays firm around Adam’s neck “Your brother?”“Yes, now put him down” I growl and poise myself ready to attack should he try anything.Adam may be a pain in the backside but I still would not let anyone hurt himMax slowly release
Charlie’s POVBefore I open my eyes I hear them, Alpha Zach, Max and Draven, they were talking about me and something to do with my magic but what they were saying didn’t make any sense and I wondered when Draven got here. From what they were saying, I had somehow levitated and my magic had stopped Alpha Zach getting close to me but I don’t remember any of that, the last thing I remember is how Max had told me to stay away from KaydenThe men stop talking and a cold hand touches my face“You can open your eyes” it was Draven’s dull voicePeering at him with one eye, “How did you know I was awake?”Draven looks at Alpha Zach, “He told us”I force myself to a seated position and realise I am in my bedroom. Max was sat on the small sofa whilst Alpha Zach leans against the door to the walk in wardrobe“You had us worried”, Alpha Zach moves and sits on the end o
Alpha Max’s POVWhat was wrong with this pack? Multiple deaths, my ex appeared to be targeted, the secrets that everyone seemed to hold. It was no longer like that in my pack, nor i or Kiwi would allow it.I hoped she would turn up soon, she could see the answer to most problems.I could not understand how Charlie wanted to stay here or why she had not come back to me, to my pack, she would have been safer and far happier even without Alexander. But one thing was certain, something was going on with her and I had to get to the bottom of it.It was hours before she woke up but I still came as soon as she called out to my mind to only to be met with Alpha Zach carrying Charlie and a vampire who was ready to kill.Alpha Zach beckoned us to come upstairs and when he explained what had happened, I just could not believe what I was hearing. He explained over and over whilst Draven and I asked multiple questions until he holds a hand up, telling us
Alpha Zach’s POVShe couldn’t hear her Lycan, how was that even possible?“You do not hear her at all?”She shakes her head at me, a single tear running down her cheek“How long?”“She fades away every time I have a panic attack but now, now she is just gone. I cant even sense her anymore”She twiddles her hair and refuses to meet my eyes because she knows she should have told me about something so important“Can you shift?”She stares at me “You want me to shift here?”“Yes”She drops her hands to her side and closes her eyes, after a few seconds she opens one eye and frowns at me“Nothing happened?”I shake my head, I knew she could shift, she had done it before but if her Lycan was really gone then shifting would be impossible for her.“What’s wrong with me, where has Gypsy gone?&rdqu
Charlie’s POVEven though I had only known Gypsy for a short period, I was lost without her.She always had something to say, someone that I could reason with when I needed it most and just someone who kept me focussed. Without her, I was completely alone. As each moment passed, the fear in me grew and I made sure to stay with Alpha Zach the entire time. He mostly had work to do and was often hunched over paperwork at his desk but it made me look at him differently.Max had always fought against his Alpha life, determined not to be the Alpha he was set to be but Zach lived and breathed the life style. He trained hard, was always talking to his pack, improving things at the local school and even offering his help to nearby packs, even if it did come with a price. His dark eyes look up at me every so often and I wondered if he was trying to work out what was happening with me or if he was genuinely interested in me. He had not said another word

She was awake and we stay laid on our backs, turning our heads to face each other, her eyes were red and black, the grey colour long gone but I didn’t care, she was here with me and she could hear and see me.“How do you feel?”I didn’t tell her that she had no magic anymore, I wanted to make sure she understood what had happened. I wanted her to know that Zach was definitely dead.“The magic is gone isn’t it?” she whispers quietly“How do you know?”“I can feel it, or lack of it. The constant bubbling has gone”Charlie had never described it in that way before and I wondered if that was what had been causing the panic attacks, the constant feeling of something inside of her. She hadn’t had an attack since she had been with me or maybe Zach had somehow causing them with his magic, so he could kiss her and make her think only he could make her feel better.I wipe t
As I kneel by Charlie I stare around in shock. He was dead, he was really dead. Zach’s bloodied limbs were scattered all around and I kick his head away from Charlie and I. I didn’t want to see him, any of him. The battle with him was finally over. After everything I did, everything Charlie had done, it had taken the hybrids to collectively work together to bring him down. Charlie was free, we were all free.I could hear her heartbeat fine and I check her neck, I wanted to see if his mark was still there. It was fading before my eyes and I hear Matthew gasp next to me.“Their marks, they are fading” he breathes a sigh of relief. He couldn’t believe it, he looked all over Alice’s legs and feet just in case he had missed it but just like Charlie’s, hers was gone and so was Eva’s.“Why are they not moving?” I try not to sound franticHe shakes his head at me “I don’t know,
Everyone was oddly calm including Charlie. Everyone except myself.Charlie had just told us the news we had been waiting for and i could not understand how everyone was so calm.Could Zach have known this was going to happen? Could he have planned for Charlie and her sisters to all be in place? It seemed impossible and yet possible at the same time. Zach had kept many secrets from everyone, and they were slowly unravelling but on his terms and we needed to change that.“I will meet him” Matthew suggests, and I shake my head. The last thing we needed Zach knowing is that we had the first hybrid in existence in my pack.“No, I will wait in the forest for him. I need you to watch over Charlie”He frowns at me, telling me that it was too risky for me to go out there in my state. With Jett back I was feeling stronger than ever. I may not look it, but I felt great.“It should be me” Charlie pipes up from
A couple of days had passed, and Charlie trained with Matthew every second she could, even when he told her to rest, she wouldn’t, or she couldn’t sit still. She was determined to succeed. He trained her mentally and physically but would not tell me what was involved. She had accepted her role as mine and the packs Luna, it was the only way for everyone to communicate with her, particularly Matthew and she needed all the help he could offer. Her sisters had not restored her hearing or sight yet because they needed to be certain that Charlie could hold the block and at the moment it was Jett and me. Her skills were growing massively but her mind still felt weak.Charlie was now able to move through the forest alone and without making a single sound, her feet touching the ground in silence as she moved. It was like she had tuned into nature, she even made it from the pack house to the training area alone yesterday and that is not an easy walk. Matthew
“It is not going to be easy”Matthew tries to warn me, but I had already thought about that and tell him just as much“And I am not even sure that it is possible for a wolf to do succeed in what I have achieved with Alice”Again, I nod my head, I understood what he was trying to say to me. It was his way of explaining that it might fail but if I do not try then we will never know.“You will get one option Alpha Max. You have to get into her head quicker than him, almost barricade her mind from his”“When and how?”“When she starts waking. At the moment she is unconscious. He can’t get in her mind whilst she is out of it, the wolfsbane in her system is too strong. The moment she starts waking will be your chance and your only chance. It will take all of your energy Alpha and if it fails, there will be no second chance!”We watch Charlie and her body does not move except
Hey everyone, I hope you are all well and I want to thank you so much for reading up until now, I really appreciate it and it keeps me motivated to write. However I just wanted to let you all know that I will be taking a few days off due to unforeseen personal problems but I promise not to keep you all waiting to long, the end is near and I hope you will all be happy with how the story ends after all the sadness that Max and Charlie have suffered. Take care and I will try and get back as soon as possible x Taylor West
I just sit and watch her. Pain is etched on Charlie’s face as she fights to keep the block up. People come and go, mostly to speak to me or Anna but I wasn’t interested. I just wanted to find a way to help Charlie break from his grasp on her.Matthew comes to find me at one point, but he frowns when he sees Charlie “What is she doing?”“She is blocking Zach”He stands by me and watches her like I do“Why are you here Matthew?”“I did come to speak to you, but now I am interested in why she is suddenly able to block him”“Alexander spurred her on”“Your deceased brother?”“That’s the one”Matthew does not speak he just nods his head with a surprised look on his face.“What did you want to speak to me about?”“I would like to offer my services”“You are already helping&rdq
She walks silently alongside me her fingers laced with my own. She doesn’t stumble or trip in the forest like she knows where she is going, but her fear was unmistakable. It exuded from her and even when I ask her she just tells me that everything is fine, but it wasn’t. Not only could I sense it coming from her, but I also felt her fear too and it wasn’t me that she was afraid of.I find myself stood in front of the packhouse, not the place I was expecting to be and I must have stopped abruptly because Charlie asks me what’s happening.“We are at the pack house?!”I wasn’t questioning Charlie, I was questioning myself, I thought we were further away than this and closer to the hospital.Charlie frowns at me “They built you a new packhouse?”“They did”She reaches her hand out and I guide her forward a little. As she holds her hand against the door she smiles but doesn’t
