Alec’s POV

I gazed steadily at her, analyzing her emotions without saying a word.

I didn’t need the bond to read her really because her great fear of me was very evident all over her face and body.

But I’ll give her that, despite her apparent vulnerability she was still trying to be brave as she faced me head on. I could see it when she walked inside with her head up, I could see it in her defiant, fiery gaze, and in her clenched fists.

Was she scared because she thinks I’m going to hurt her the way she was hurt by that bastard? Or because she knows I hate her for trying to kill me and running away from me and that I will punish her in another way? I wasn’t sure which option was the reason for her fear of me.

“You don’t hate her though, Alec. Do you? She’s been through so much last night. I know how much it hurt you. You can’t punish her after everything” Maddox grunted at me in a displeased tone in reaction to my train of thoughts.
