Chapter 27: He Got It

My heart keeps on pounding so fast while walking to where Gideon is. He was finally back from the search for Nikolai's head, and I was expecting him to bring the head to me.

However, my world almost stumbled down knowing that Gideon hadn't found it.

“I didn't make it, Emerald,” Gideon said, his voice filled with disappointment.

I let out a sigh and held his hands. Gideon doesn't need to feel dismayed about not making it.

“Don't worry about it. Nothing will change, even if you didn't find it. Now, this time, we should wait for James. I just hope he couldn't find it as well.”

Gideon just looked at me. His eyes were still sad and I know the feeling. I know he was desperate to have the head of Alpha Nikolai, but this is what it is. We couldn't do anything about it.

Maybe the rumors from earlier were not real. If Gideon didn't find Nikolai, I believe James does not, but he's still not there. We are still waiting for him to let us know if he had it.
