Chapter 31: Unstoppable

“Emerald, it's Jacob…”

My heartbeat raced upon hearing Cassandra's words. I opened the door and saw my son in her arms. Jacob was trembling. I touch his forehead and tears fall from my eyes.

“He has a high fever!” I panicked.

I brought Jacob inside my cabin and put him on the bed. My heart continued pounding so fast watching my son crying so loud. Cassandra took warm water and a towel. I soaked the towel in the cold water and put it on Jacob's forehead.

My hands were shaking in fear that something might happen to my son. I don't know what I should do if Jacob's fever won't slow down.

“C-Cassandra, I'm scared…” I cried while doing my best to stop my son from crying.
