Chapter 6

Ciara’s POV 

Then I cut the call, pushing Bestian away with a laugh and trying to wipe my mouth with a witty face. 

“Let’s pretend we didn’t kiss,” I chuckled. “It was just for show.” 

Bestian frowned as I said this. His eyes darkened with disappointment. 

We sat opposite each other for almost an hour without saying anything, just blushing and stealing glances at each other. 

Then my phone rang again. I picked it up and it was Henry. 

“You again?” I suspected Alpha Alexio was behind the call this time. I blocked his two lines after the call and knowing Henry was my close friend, he might have come through him. 

“Hello,” I growled. 

“Hello Luna.” 

“Henry, stop calling me that. I’m no longer Luna but Camilla.” I said it out loud, mocking Alexio as I suspected he must be there. I was also happy I could finally get that off my chest. 

“Say what you want to say.” I exerted a tone of seriousness. “Is your Alpha there with you?”

“Yes.” 

I grinned. I wanted him to hear me mock him, he must remember how badly he used to treat me just to please Camilla. 

“I know you hate him, but he is really fucked up. I am not sure he can go through this trial process alone and the entire pack is on him. At least, he should be given a second chance, if you could come back, you two will build a future together.” Henry explained. 

“Mate with me?!” I asked in disgust. 

“Yes-sss,” Henry stammered. 

“Tell him to go mate with Camilla, the woman he chose over me. I have nothing to do with anyone called Alpha Alexio. Wouldn’t care even if he dies.” I balled my fist, saying in between gnashing teeth. 

Bestian was watching heaving heavily, it was a mix of excitement and concern. Even though he might be concerned about his best friend, he still wanted me badly. 

“What?” I scoffed. Someone whispered to Henry. I suppose it’s gonna be Alexio. 

“That’s Alexio, right?!” I said. Henry did not have any other choice, but to accept. “I knew it!” 

“What are you guys saying?” I asked again. 

“He just wants to see you. He will do anything to see you and have you come back to him.” Henry whispered. 

Goshhh! 

“Well, I have no such time for him. His want for me is fake, he wouldn't if Camilla didn't scam him. I'll scam him more.”

“You're free to. He just wants you back into his life. He wouldn’t be able to become normal ever again if you don’t come back to him.” 

All of a sudden, Alpha Bestian rose, grabbing the phone from my hand. I gasped, staring at him so stunned. 

“Give the phone to Alpha Alexio!” He ordered as his pitch went so high, causing even Henry's tone to shiver and he did as told, immediately. 

“Your ex is now with me, so leave her alone.” Bestian said, not caring about how Alpha Alexio felt. 

I sat up, my hands and fingers flaring. What did he just say? I was now unsteady, catching up with the charms of his persistence. The image of us kissing played back in mind. Goosebumps appeared all over my skin. It was supposed to be an act, but it was feeling so real already. 

I shook my head in reflex, something immediately came to mind. 

A deeper revenge for Alexio. 

“Maybe he can help me out,” I whispered to myself. I snatched the phone from Bestian. 

“Having sex with Alpha Bestian and sending the video to you, what if I did this, will you believe I have no interest in you again?” 

There was a thick silence, suspense filling the air. 

“Yes, he will.” Bestian’s voice brushed through. 

“He will,” my wolf said exactly at the same time as his, suddenly this strong connection between wolves pulled up and it seemed both of us were getting together. 

My body jerked back, I almost fell off the seat. This is mysterious. 

“What’s going on, Bestian? Are you feeling this all of a sudden?” I asked him in wonder. 

Bestian leaned close and muttered in a low voice. “Because I want to be your mate. You are the sweet mate I've been waiting for many years.” He smiled, then winked at me. I blushed without realizing. 

Will this be possible, having a sweet relationship with his best friend for real?  

The way I saw it, it wasn't fake any longer to hurt but some emotions were settling in. 

Has the moon goddess decided to give me a second chance mate in Alpha Bestian? I was confused all over again.
