Sleep over

“Ahhh!!!” an agonizing wail tore through her throat. At the same time, she felt a hand wrapped her legs and lifted her into the air. Everything happened so fast that even when Quinn July acted in mere seconds, the misfortune still happened.

Emma didn’t care to know why she was leaving the kitchen but wasn’t doing so with her legs. The trauma from the uninvited thunder that came without the appearance of its counterpart– rain, was still coursing through her veins, even though the pain from the injury on her foot was gnawing under her skin.

Setting her on the dining table, he asked calmly, though the anxiety in his voice couldn’t be hidden. “Do you have a first aid kit?”

“Yes, in the kitchen,” she replied with gritted teeth and pointed at the open kitchen.

Quinn went into the kitchen and returned with a kit. Looking at the bleeding foot that has a long shard lurched into it, he pursed his lips. “The wound is deep,” he mumbled. Pulling it out would hurt more than it already was.
