As far as Kendrick remembered, the minestrone he had eaten before was simply poured into the pot without frying the vegetables beforehand.

"You have to fry them!" Isabella got all enthusiastic talking about it. She was a genuine food lover. "Jojo stir fries them before cooking, and it tastes so good!"

Kendrick, who had little talent in these matters, did not ask any more questions.

"You don't need to feel inferior. You're only four years old, and there aren't many kids your age who can cook. Don't worry about it," Kendrick reassured Isaiah.
