I could see Amara smiling bashfully at the video call as her mother asked her, "Really? Then you shouldn't tell anyone so that you don't lose your baby until it's safe."

"Okay, Mom. Please tell dad that I'm fine and I will come home soon," she said.

"Why? You should stay there with your husband or who are you expecting to look after you and the baby?"

"Mom, Darlington doesn't want me and wants to marry his ex, next weekend," Amara said, looking at me while I frowned, as that wasn't what we had discussed.

"Why? But he cannot marry anyone in his father's absence. I'm sure his mother is the one forcing him to. Do not worry, if you don't feel comfortable there, you can return home as we have discussed, and I will speak to your father to nullify everything, okay?"

"Okay, Mom," Amara replied and smiled, and her mother told her to take care of herself and send her regards to me, before the phone call ended.

"Why would you tell your mother about the pregnancy?" I asked Amara
