Thank you for reading!
Nina My phone rings for the hundredth time and I stare at it sighing heavily before swiping right. “Hi.” I blush the irritation immediately vanishing at the sound of his voice. “Hey book princess.” comes Theo’s thick deep voice. I smile like a high school girl as I bite my bottom lip, “This is the hundredth time you’ve called me in less than an hour.” I tease making him chuckle. “Just checking on my favorite girl. Move in with me so that I won’t have to call every hour.” Theo suggests making me roll my eyes as I fight the butterflies growing in my stomach. I smile again while twirling a strand of my hair in my finger, brushing off the joke. "Nice try, Theo. But I'm not falling for that.” “You’re right. We first start with putting a ring on those gorgeous fingers before anything else.” He whispers making me clench my thighs together when I’m all alone in the kitchen. “Theo..” I trail off unsure what to respond to that. Is he joking or is he serious? Marriage to Theo Kingsley?
Nina All my life I thought that what stops a heart from beating is when life is taken away but even as an Author, I never imagined that someone’s confession could stop you from breathing. I stare at the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen and when he tells me he loves me, my whole world shifts, and suddenly it feels like I’m floating. All the pain I was holding onto, suddenly becomes a cloud of certainty. I feel heartbroken for having lost my mother like that but heaven gave me a second chance and gave me a beautiful mother. If not for the triggers, I would still not have known about the adoption. This is how great my parents have been and that is something I shouldn’t throw away. This man holding me into his arms has reminded me of that, and as I look up at him a smile stretches across my face. “Thank you,” I whisper. He looks at me with a confused look which makes me smile even more. “I love you too,” I add which takes away the panic in his eyes. He later cooks me pasta and chicken
Theo The past week has been full of meetings and as I suspected, my company needs cleaning too. I had a meeting with Liam where he gave me an update on his next move and what he intends on doing next and I must say, it’s truly remarkable. Victoria’s father was working with his daughter and now all we need to do is prove that and the rest will follow. “How do you plan on going through with this?” I ask Liam, sitting with his back laid back lazily looking at me like I just asked an obvious question. He chuckles darkly before responding, “They messed with my family, and framed my wife for murder. Do you think I sat back all these months and watched them flourish?” He raises his brow and I eye him suspiciously. “What have you been up to?” I ask and he shrugs. “The usual. Bought shares and had Smith kicked out and now I want him locked up right next to Sanderson and his useless son William. I will have them gone for a very long long time.” He stretches out the word long making me swal
Theo “All we have to do is get three members of the board to agree with you and the change will be smooth.” John my lawyer explains and I nod. I have enough dirt on everyone so that should be an easy task but I don’t say that out loud. These are moves I keep hidden only for me. “I can work something out,” I respond and he nods. He goes on to explain the worst things that can happen to them through the law and I nod knowing if I have to decide between breaking it, I won’t even think twice about it. “Good, so we can start working on it tomorrow. But we need to do this without your uncle knowing so that it’s a surprise attack. If you have anything he can use against you, you need to tell me right now. I know about Kate-” But I cut him off, “Kate is safe. No harm will come to her.” I respond confidently when I remember how I almost skinned Alex alive for asking her out but Liam stepped in and assured me the guy was a good one and would keep my angel safe. “And?” John presses on as
Emily “I swear I was about to declare you missing!” I glare at Nina who looks at me with puppy eyes while she holds Liam’s cake in her hands. Lily moves closer concern laced in her voice, “Seriously, we were so worried why didn’t you call us?” She pins us all to the spot. Lily is the bubbly one among us and is rarely upset if anything, today is the first time we have seen her lose it, and rightfully so. “It’s my fault, I should have called you when I found her on my way to D.C yesterday. I guess we got carried away.” Theo says reluctantly which earns him a deadly glare from his sister but he just flips her a tongue out like a six-year-old making me smile. “D.C? Nina?” my gaze shifting to her worriedly. “Did something happen?” I ask but she places the cake down and sighs. “No, My GPS Misled me and my phone died. It started raining and my car wouldn’t start luckily, Theo was using the same road.” She explains but we all just look at her while nodding slowly as we wonder what the o
Emily “Are you okay babe?” Nina pulls me into a hug as I turn to smile at the girls. Shockingly, I don’t lie when I respond, “I’m fine truly. Let’s finish preparing before we run out of time. I don’t want to buy any takeouts. We are cooking homemade fresh meals.” I look at the three women standing before me and Kate’s face goes pale. “Do we have to? I mean we can always-” She begins but I shake my head. “Yes, we have to.” The support has been massive and my heart swells at how well we work together to bring my vision to life. In a short time, the penthouse is transformed into a scene of elegance, and signs of a party are everywhere. An idea Kayden and Hayden brought up. Streamers and balloons in shades of blue and silver adorn the walls and ceiling, and every other corner we could manage thanks to Jake, Theo, and Alex who I forced to help us even after they outright refused saying parties should just be alcohol and meat. For the dining area, we manage to roll in a bigger and
Liam After leaving Theo’s office yesterday, I had to visit Dad and tell him what I was up to, and when he gave me the go-ahead, I knew I had to end this once and for all. I walk into the board room where the meeting is expected to be held. After digging some dirt for Smith shareholders, I was able to buy off their shares making me the largest shareholder with 51%. Victoria’s father wasn’t expecting to see me so when I stepped into the board room he looked at me in furry. “This is a shareholder’s meeting! “ He announces but I ignore him and sit on his opposite end. I want to see how his face will look while I strip him of everything he holds precious. “I’m well aware.”I smile. His assistant must have caught on because he leans in and whispers something to him which turns his face pale. I clear my throat as I stand and button up my jacket slowly. Everyone looks nervous because they didn’t expect me to be here and I know they’ve heard about me especially since some are the people I
Liam After an hour-long drive, I finally reach a normal-looking house which I’m guessing is under another name and if anything happens here, no one will know, making a smile stretch across my face. This is about to get very interesting! I walk to the front door and open it carefully, the last thing I want is to be tied to a chair and put my kids in danger especially since I came here without backup. But I have a few friends nearby and they will be more than glad to help out. Pushing the door open, I step inside, scanning the dimly lit room. "Anderson, where are you?" I call out. The house is so empty, my voice echoes. I take a seat on the couch as I wait for the man of the hour to show up. "Liam, I'm glad you came," Anderson says, his voice calm but I can taste his fear at the tip of my tongue. I nod at him as he takes a seat on the other side. “You look better.” I begin and he chuckles but it’s a forced laugh. As I look at him clearly, I can tell he is having a hard time and h
