Tiffany "Urgent?" I mutter. It's been months since John has barely talked to me. Yes, he doesn't talk to me or anyone like before. It's all about, did kids eat? , did they sleep? are they doing well? , do they tell you something they don't tell me? 'That's all we talk about and I have barely seen him smiling. When he's with the boys, he genuinely smiles for them and he's always available for them, unlike before. It seems like he's trying to fill a void. "Yeah. It's sort of", he shrugs his shoulders and I put my handbag aside."You were at Sebastian's last night?" he asks."Yeah", I smile. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you before leaving. He kind of insisted and it's been a while since you know— we hanged out""I know. I know", he says, sitting on the couch and I sit across from him. "You had to give all your time and attention to the kids and you literally forgot you have a life too"He looks up at me. There's nothing but helplessness in his eyes. He's completely shattered from the insi
Ivanna "Oh, my God! Someone donated a million dollars to our go-fund-me page", Nora screams at the top of her lungs, running across the reception with her hand raised in the air, holding the phone. She halts in front of me as all the eyes around us enlarge in surprise."A million dollars? Seriously?" I exclaim."Yeah!" she buffs. "It better not be Christian", I seethe, snatching the phone from her and looking at the donor's information. Thankfully, it's not Christian!"It won't be him", Ellen says. "He respects your capabilities the most"A small grin curves on my face. "I know. But recently, he was kind of worried about me. And he offered help like ten times. I wouldn't be surprised if he did it""But the best part is we got it!" Nora cheers with everyone clapping along. "It's some elderly businessman. He's suffering from a rare disease, and doesn't have any kids so he's donating money wherever he can", Alexia says from her desk, immediately taking out the information of the donor
Emily "Saaamuel!" Chrisanna waves at us, while walking toward our car after hopping down from hers. Samuel looks up at me, frowning as if asking me why I called her. He looks so annoyed but I know this is gonna disappear soon. He gets annoyed by her at first but then all his annoyance vanishes in thin air. "Hi!" Chrisanna halts near us with a big smile on her face. However, Samuel doesn't reply."Hi, Samuel!" Chrisanna rolls her eyes."Hi", he finally utters with that dead reaction."Oh. I forgot you're a grumpy kid!" she crosses her arms."Chrissie!" Ivanna lightly smacks her shoulder."Sorry!" Chrisanna crinkles her nose, looking up at her.I chuckle. "Let it be. This is just usual banters""Banters suit when it's from both sides", Ivanna says. "If Samuel is being polite, you should too", she tells Chrissie."Okay!" she groans."Okay, then!" Kane comes out of the building, carrying Kylee and he goes to their car to put her in the back seat with her stroller."We'll drop Chrisanna
Author's POVChrisanna smiles at him and her eyes drift down to his legs while he swings them, sitting on the countertop. She imitates him, swinging her legs in sync with him. He notices that and looks at her. She giggles at him as if she's caught in doing something which makes him smile right away. He looks down and increases his pace and Chrisanna immediately catches up with it. Soon, they start giggling audibly, enjoying the little fun until Samuel gets back to his regular mood, yet being content and keeping a smile on. "Your smile is like a shooting star", Chrisanna says, rolling her eyes."Shooting star?""Yep. We don't see it more often", she says innocently. "But it's beautiful"He stares at her for a couple of seconds before smiling back. "Thank you""You're welcome", she beams, tilting her head."Why are you here?" he asks. "Because I want to give you this yummy pudding", she says, holding it towards him. "I don't like it. You can eat this one""Hawww!" her eyes enlarge.
Tiffany "So, John is adamant about this? I mean about shifting to a different city?" Sebastian asks from the other end of the call as I stay silent, lying on the bed and looking up at the ceiling.Sebastian doesn't urge me to reply right away and waits for me to respond.I let out a deep sigh and clear my throat. "He's not adamant but he has a good reason. Ryan has nightmares every night. Both the kids are unable to move on from this tragedy. They need a change in environment and it'll be good for them if they move somewhere with no memory of their mother", I tell him the exact things John had told me about his decision.I have been thinking about this matter the whole day and it kept bugging me. I couldn't do anything right. It kept ringing inside my head and I thought of calling John right away and asking him to drop this idea. But I also understand that his reasons are valid. "And what do you feel about it?" Sebastian asks. I don't know how I'm going to express all these things
Tiffany I didn't think I would get to see John this morning since he used to leave even before sunrise and sometimes we wouldn't even know he had come back. It's nine of the morning and he's still in the mansion. Ryan and Kevin don't have school today. I peeked into their room and found them sleeping. Maybe, it's a good opportunity to talk to him right now. John is quietly having his breakfast when I take my seat in front of him. He looks up at me with a half-smile."Good morning!" he says."Good morning", I mutter. "That's surprising. You're still at home today?""Well, yeah, actually!" he clears his throat. "I thought you might want to talk to me""Literally!" I say, forcing a smile and serving my breakfast. We quietly continue to gobble the food in silence for a while before I eventually break it. "I didn't think much about the matter last night", I tell him and he looks up at me, halting for a second."I didn't ask you to rush. It's okay. Take your time", he tells me. "No", I
Tiffany Sebastian halts with the leftover stuffed into his mouth as he looks down at me, a bit surprised. "Are they?" swallowing the lump, he asks to be sure, I guess. I nod. "Yeah. I talked to him this morning and told him that I agree with him and I don't have any problem if they leave the city!"He just blinks a couple of times as if he's confused and no words escape his mouth."Why do you look so confused?" I mutter."Nah. I'm not confused", he gives me a half-smile. "I just didn't expect you to conclude this matter so fast. I mean I thought you would need time", he says."I would definitely need time", I let out a sigh. "Unless I didn't talk to you last night. I knew deep down what was right but I was not ready to do that. That conversation helped me a lot to control my emotions and make practical decisions. And I took it", I confidently say.A lovely smile curves on his face and he kisses my forehead lightly."I'm so glad that you could figure it all out and I could help you
Sebastian "What?" I ask.She eyes me with a cold stare. "I thought you wanted me to move in?" she exclaims and the disappointment in her eyes is visible. It leaves me completely surprised that she might want to move in with me. "I— I do. I surely do", I say in a firm tone. "I wasn't just sure that you would appreciate the idea", I tell her.She rolls onto her stomach on my chest and looks straight into my eyes. "Or you were too scared to tell me what you want", she says, raising her eyebrows at me. "Am I right?""I don't know", I mutter, lowering my eyes. She rests her head on my chest and we don't face each other anymore now. I dip my fingers into her hair, caressing them as her fingertips roam around my skin. "Last night, you asked me if you can call me yours", she whispers."I remember", I smile. "And I said that yes. I'm yours", she adds. "And I truly meant what I said, Sebastian""I know", I tighten my grip around her torso. "But why do I feel like you can't seem to unde
