Joseph's POV.

Seeing Amaka again after four years of ending my relationship with her made my blood boil.

I had tried so hard to forget her, but it was the hardest thing I had ever done. My family couldn’t know that I had an affair with a poor girl. Although I took her innocence, that didn’t mean I had to marry her. Nonetheless, she was the prettiest girl I had ever seen.

When she walked into my office, my heart skipped several beats to the point that I was gasping for air.

My jaw dropped in surprise, but I quickly composed myself when I saw the shock on her face, too.

She was more than shocked to see me, but I switched to the stoic side of myself, maintaining my professionalism. I had to pretend I didn't know her, but my manhood kept twitching in my boxers, longing for her wonderful touch.

"Um, have a seat," I gestured for her to sit.

Amaka tried to ask me if I knew her, but there was no way I was going back. I had moved on, and my father wanted me to court a senator's daughter. Her father owned several businesses and was a great philanthropist.

Her name was Nina Stanley. She was tall, pretty, and 24 years old. You guessed right; I lied to Amaka about my age.

I was 25 years old when I met Amaka. I was coming from the gym that day when I saw her going home with her younger sister.

She wore an armless dress, and seeing how beautiful she looked in that body-hugging red dress, I couldn't get her out of my mind.

She came from an average family and was easily gullible. When I approached her then, I was scared she would reject me if I told her my real age, so I lied to her just to get her to date me.

I showered her with gifts, but Amaka was only thinking about marriage.

She wanted me to marry her—an eighteen-year-old girl. I only wanted sex, so my body would calm down from the level of effect she had on me. I had no idea that my father was planning to relocate after his last successful business deal that made him more famous.

He disclosed to my mother and the three of us that we wouldn't be living in Palazo town anymore and that we had to move to the Island, where he could afford a more luxurious and comfortable lifestyle. This cut my relationship with Amaka short, as I would have loved to sleep with her again and again before I relocated with my family.

Amaka was heartbroken after I finally slept with her. She delayed us having sex because she said she wanted to keep her virginity until marriage. She didn’t want to lose herself to just any man, and I lied to her that I would marry her just to have her juicy cake.

I am now a 29-year-old man, and I will be 30 in a month's time. My father handed over this company branch to me after I proved my worth, while he continued with his new establishment on the Island.

As for my younger brother, Aaron, he is 25 and recently graduated. Although he has no interest in business and is into filming and skit-making, my father wouldn't have that and wanted to force Aaron into managing the company branch, but Aaron didn't care.

Well, now I am confused about what to do.

Seeing that questioning look on Amaka's face made me realize I had wronged her. I recalled that she later called me from a different number after I blocked her and tried to forget about her.

I remembered the night she called and told me she was three months pregnant.

I was shocked, as I was at home with my mother. Mom noticed the change in my demeanor and tried to ask me what the problem was. She said, "What's wrong, Joseph? You look so tense as if you heard bad news. What happened?"

"Nothing, Mom. Excuse me," I quickly retreated to my room on the top floor and made it clear to Amaka that we were over. That was the worst day of my life; I felt terrible for cutting her off.

I warned her never to call me again, saying, "Don't ever call me again, Amaka. We had sex only once. You refused to let me touch you, so how can you conceive from that encounter?"

"But..." she began.

"No, but. I used protection, and I remember withdrawing from you when we made love again!" I stated firmly. "Go on and look for whoever else you slept with and pin your child on him, and don’t call me again."

Gosh! The memory floods back now, and I am confused about what to do.

Should I own up that I know Amaka Richard?

Should I tell her that I am sorry and that I haven't forgotten about her?

I am so confused, but seeing her smile with Simon made me jealous.

Amaka was very beautiful, and she has a cute dimple on her chubby cheeks.

I couldn't look away from her, and I recalled how heavenly it felt to kiss her lovely lips.

"Sir, it's already 7 PM, and most of the staff have left. Aren't you going home for today?" My head security, Tyler Ivan, came into my office and spoke to me.

"Right. I will be going home now," I said, rising from my office chair. I shut down my laptop and packed it up to leave the company. I set it into my briefcase as I had some unfinished business to attend to.

My phone rang, startling me out of my trance. I picked up my phone from my office desk, where I had kept it. I glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Nina calling me.

I got engaged to her last month because my father was insisting that I marry Nina, and there was nothing else I was waiting for. We were rich, as was Nina's family.

Under my father's pressure, I got engaged to Nina, even though it wasn't what I wanted.

Nina was a business student too. She was very professional and was managing one of her father's private businesses. She was classy and not the type of lady to mess with.

I love sex, and even after my fallout with Amaka and moving over to the city, I slept with a few women I paid to be with.

Nina wouldn't let me touch her, saying no sex until we are married.

I respected her choice, and since my father wanted us to marry, I respected him a lot. He came from a humble background and worked hard to achieve the height he is today.

I couldn't voice my feelings to my father, so I complied and engaged Nina Stanley.

I didn’t engage Nina because I loved her. I don’t feel anything for her, but I respect her and her professionalism. It gives me a sense that she will educate my children well and she’s not a loose woman.

But now, seeing Amaka Richard again has stirred memories I had long buried. Feelings of the past that I tried so hard to forget came rushing back into my mind.

Even thinking about Amaka now—her smile, her looks, and the way her big brown eyes held mine—made my dick twitch with longing for her touch.

"You can leave, Tyler. I will soon leave; let me answer this call," I told Tyler, and he replied, "Copy that, boss."

Tyler exited my office, and I answered my incoming call. "Hello, babe."

As we are planning on getting married, I told my father, Senator Patrick Stanley, that I want to live with you and get to know you—the man I’m going to marry," Nina said.My blood boiled hot as I hadn't expected Nina to show up at my house."My house?" I asked her again, as if I had heard incorrectly."Yes, Joseph. Your house. I got the address from your mother. Although I know I told you we wouldn't be having sex until we're married, there are many other things we can do, including cooking for you and accompanying you to your office to get to know more about you and see if we are truly compatible for marriage. Besides, we are already engaged, and none of our families would be complaining. I'm not supposed to be explaining all this to you," Nina said, sounding heartbroken in her tiny feminine voice, and I swallowed hard."Right. I will get home soon. Nina's POV:The previous day, I told my mother that I wanted to move into Joseph's house to see him. "Are you sure about this, Nina? Why not wait for you guys to get married first before you move in with him?" Mom said. She was pretty, fair, and a 52-year-old woman. "No, Mom. I want to go and live with my fiancé to get to know the man I will be marrying. We won't have sex; we'll just live and bond like friends first."My mother looked at me in disbelief and said, "Do you think that will work? Nina, Joseph is a man. He could want sex and many other things. What if you end up not liking him and find faults in him? I think it's best to wait until after you both get married, then you can find out everything about him.""No, Mom!" I refused, my arms crossed over my chest as I pouted. "I've already made this decision. I need to go and live with him now. We still have two months until our wedding. What if he cheats on me with another woman? Mom asked, and I sighed heavily."Yes, Mom. He is back, and we are preparing to have our dinners now," I replied. She then asked me, "How did he react upon seeing you?"I took a deep breath, not wanting to reveal to my mother that Joseph Ericson didn’t look happy to see me. Instead, I lied, "He was surprised, Mom, but at the same time, happy."As I said that, Tope stepped out of the kitchen and looked at me in shock. She had witnessed Joseph's reaction and knew that I was lying to my mother, but she didn't say a word. Instead, she walked up to the dining table to serve dinner in silence."Okay, that's nice. I will call you back tomorrow, as I want to have dinner with your father now, and I don’t want to keep him waiting. You should be a good girl to Joseph. Is he there with you? Joseph's POV,After my dinner with Nina ended, Tope stepped out of the kitchen and cleared the dining table while Nina and I went to the top-floor sitting room."So, Nina?" I called her name, and she looked at me."Yes, Joe," she replied in a sultry tone, and I took a deep breath."Let's sit down and discuss. I want to talk with you about our arranged marriage and your staying here," I told her, settling back into a chair while she did the same.Nina appeared nervous as she sat across from me. My sitting room on this top floor had milk-colored couches scattered around, similar to the black ones in my living room."So, I want to talk about your staying here," I began. "Honestly, I appreciate that you came here to bond with me, but I don't want us sleeping in the same bed until we are married. I am a man, and I could get tempted and touch you before our marriage, which wouldn't be right. So I want us to use separate rooms."Nina's face fell. "I don't have a problem if we share a bed tog

My son was already fast asleep when I came into the room and saw him sleeping on the bed.I didn't see Maureen's mother in the living room, so Maureen and I went to her room for me to unwind and take a bath."Welcome, Amaka. How was work today?" Maureen asked me as I changed out of the corporate wear I had worn to the office. My mind was in turmoil. How do I even begin to explain to Maureen everything that had happened today?"Amaka?" Maureen called my name again, jolting me out of my reverie."Yes? What did you say?" I asked her as she stood there dressed in a green nightgown. She sighed and walked up to meet me."Where was your mind? I was asking you a question just now, and you seemed lost. What were you thinking about?" Maureen inquired, and I sighed deeply again."Maureen, you won't believe what I saw today. I am so confused," I told her, walking over to a chair in the room to sit down. The room had two black chairs,

As I helped him sit down, I took a seat beside him, lost in deep thoughts about what had happened earlier and Mrs. Ann advising me to arrest Joseph.I didn't want to arrest Joseph; at least let me confront him first and find out if he's the father of my baby or not."Amaka, what are you thinking about?" Mrs. Ann asked me just as I was lost in my ocean of wild thoughts."Nothing, Ma. Let me go help Maureen in the kitchen," I replied, rising from the chair beside my son. I made my way to the kitchen to assist Maureen in serving our dinner. In the kitchen, Maureen had finished serving all the meals in different soup bowls and had prepared fufu for us to swallow."Amaka," she began, turning to look at me just after she closed the soup pot. When she stepped out of the bathroom, she was dressed in a yellow top and a black skirt. She had a born-again look that made it difficult for anyone to know she had been raised by a single mother."Thank you, Amaka," Maureen said to me once she finished applying a simple makeup of white powder and lipstick."I am going to miss you," she said as she hugged me once more. I smiled and replied, "I’m only a phone call away. Don’t worry; I’ll come over to see you today after I close from work." Chris arrived at 6:30 AM to pick her up in his car."Okay," Maureen said, turning to look at Jason as he walked into the room. He wore a white singlet, blue boxers, and black slippers. I peered inside and saw a man in a black suit sitting there. He greeted me, "Hi, I see you're in a hurry. Where are you rushing to?""Um, never mind. I have someone to pick me up," I said to the man in the car. He smiled and replied, "Alright. Do you live around here? I've seen you around and would like to get to know you better. I live down this estate road too." He said, and I frowned."Alright. But I'm in a hurry right now. Maybe some other time," I said, wanting to shoo him away. Jason frowned, his handsome fair face contorting into a deep scowl. He loved cartoons and was perfectly perched on the living room's black couch, not wanting to get down.He simply had no plans of going to bed early tonight."Do you want to stay here in the living room alone? I am tired, and I need to rest. Also, you have to go to school tomorrow, at least before we take a break and make preparations for Maureen's wedding," I told Jason as I approached him on the couch and sat beside him."Come now, let's go and sleep," I said, standing up and wanting to take the television remot
