Throughout the meeting, it seemed like Crystal was fully submerged into this, but I couldn't be sure until I receive the report on my table first thing in the morning.
This may be the first time that these different departments would be making a report after each meeting but I think this is a great way to see exactly they think is significant through a meeting and exactly what their ideas are on and also making sure they're paying attention.
It also gives me an idea what their work ethic is and what they're ability is instead of asking just Camilla to do the reports after each meeting.
These individuals may be very confused as to why I'm asking them to do a report, but I am always clear with what I am doing.
Finally finished with the meeting and getting through the projects debrief, everyone was able to leave to go back to their workplaces. However, I decided to ask Crystal to stay behind for a minute’s talk.
"What did you want to talk about?" She asked, still with an underline of irritation in her tone. Which I couldn't understand one bit since she has an important job role and signed up for it.
"I asked you to stay behind because your behaviour today was unacceptable, I shouldn't have to be here talking to you about this when you have signed a contract stating exactly what is allowed and what isn't.
Tomorrow I'll make sure there is a new contract on your desk to remind you exactly what you signed up for. However, the one main thing that you need to change is your clothes. I'm not a woman to shame some one's outfit or whatever they wear.
However, you are here to represent Miller's cooperation and you need to make sure that it is appropriate for business." Hoping she could fully understand what I have stated since it was inappropriate for anyone, whether if they were male or female to not be inappropriate business wear.
On her face, you could tell that she wasn't happy with the criticism that I gave her but I need to make sure that every single worker follows the rule or it wouldn't be fair on the individuals who are.
Walking out of the meeting room, I went straight to my office but saw someone who I did not want to see.
"What the hell are you doing here!" I exclaimed when I saw Alec sitting there crossed-legged in a fitted suit and drinking a cup of coffee.
"Hello to you too. I am also very happy to see you too" he replied with a smirk on his face whilst taking another sip from the coffee. I walked towards the sofa that he was sitting on and decided to sit down too.
"So, what are you doing here?" I asked once again as he was now flipping through some magazines on the desk. For some reason, he moved closer to me and leaned in
"I'm here to talk you on a lunch date," he stated with utter confidence.
"I'm sorry but I already have a date," I replied with a serious expression. His confident arura slipped and was exchanged with a surprisingly nervous expression.
"Oh. Well, how about dinner?" I couldn't but help smile slightly at this version of Alec. He wasn't the Alec that everyone else saw as confident and flirtatious but just a normal bachelor who wanted to take a female out on a date.
I couldn't help but wonder why he suddenly wanted to take me out on a dinner date when he could invite any model female who he has been seen with the last couple of weeks.
"Why me then? You've been seen with so many models this past couple of weeks, so why me? Anyone of them would be so happy to agree with you." I did feel a bit confused but the moment I thought about who he was, I felt slightly upset.
I don't know why but since yesterday, he has been on my mind for most of the night just wondering exactly what his intension was.
I couldn't help but wonder why he did what he did yesterday and why he came today to ask for a dinner date. Everything was just so confusing. He was confusing.
He stopped looking at the magazine and turned towards me with a serious expression on his face and started to respond to my question
"I'm here to ask if you have time to go on a dinner date tonight. If not tonight, then tomorrow. W have some business to talk about and I believe you would be very interested." His reply made me even more baffled.
I thought he was just going to be the notorious player and flirt his way into making me say yes but this sudden seriousness made me confused. He had the same arura as yesterday. This cold and unapproachable aura that screams heartless.
I couldn't help but be sucked into whatever he was initiating with this so-called business that I would be interested in. So due to this curiosity, I decided to give him a chance and replied to his dinner date with a nod. It may not be much for me, but a small tiny smile appeared on his face but disappeared within a couple of seconds.
Seeing that he had got what he came for he stood up and walked out before stating that he will pick me up at 7 pm. I couldn't help but still be mesmerized by him.
Just days ago I was in England and hoping for a normal and peaceful life but days later the thought of normal life seems like a dream after being plastered on every media article with a man that was known for playing with women's body and throwing them away. Associated with a dangerous man but I couldn't help being charmed by this mysterious arura. Believing that there is a deeper story behind is ruthless actions.
The rest of the day at the company was very slow. All I had running in my mind was what this dinner date was going to consist of and what he wants from me.
The only thing that was able to tear me away from thinking about what will happen tonight was the lunch meeting that I had with Tiffany to catch up on exactly what had happened tomorrow with the male he was dancing with.
It was relaxing to just gossip with Tiffany for an hour or so before she had to go back to her studio as a fashion designer whilst I had to get back to work. After that everything was smooth with me just finishing some odd filing work and getting all the materials ready for a full day of meetings.
Yet throughout the day I made sure to visit each department and spend around half an hour with them to fully understand what they were doing in the company and slowly start to create a bond with these co-workers.
---------
It was finally 7 pm when Alec pulled his car up to our driveway and I had to quickly sprint towards it to make sure that my father or my sister didn't see who I was going out with.
The moment I told the head cook that they wouldn't have to prepare my dinner since I was going out, my sister ran into the kitchen to start asking me who I was going out with.
I couldn't deal with her nagging that I decided to spend the rest of my time in my room before finally getting ready with two hours to spear.
We had arrived at a fairly fancy restaurant which made me question exactly what this business he wanted to talk about when one of the waiters guided us to a recluse table that was on a different floor to everyone else's.
He surprised me when he started to act like a gentleman and pulled out my chair for me. He made sure that I was seated before he sat down and asked the waiters to bring some white win whilst we look at the menus.
As I was looking at the menu, I felt his eyes on me which did make me feel uncomfortable since he hadn't even picked up the menu yet. I stopped what I was doing and made a questionable look on my face which he must have understood.
"I know the menu and know what I order, so go ahead and take your time." I took it as the fact that he has come to this place many times before.
"Since it seems like you've been here often, what would you recommend," I asked after staring at the menu for some time now but still not knowing what to pick.
"Oh darling, you've got it all wrong. I don't come here often. I was the one that put the menu together." I was extremely surprised by this fact.
"I didn't realise that McKinley Enterprise had opened restaurants" I replied still with a surprised tone.
"This restaurant isn't under the McKinley Enterprise darling, but under my name only." This news made me even more surprised since I never knew that Alec was someone to open a restaurant under his name when he already had to run a whole inter empire on his own. I guess you really can't judge a book by its cover.
Everything was so confusing to me. Why he could invite me out on a dinner date that was supposed to just be about a business opportunity but in the end is in a romantic setting and I couldn't explain this feeling I had when he talked about this restaurant as being his and how he went through the process of building this restaurant up. Before I had always thought that he was someone who gathered all his fame and fortune from just taking over his father’s company but in the end, it was a mixture. Behind the scenes, he did do his work and was very passionate about it. "So, what did you want to talk about and what was this business opportunity that you thought I would be very interested in," I asked since the waiter had come back with our food and we had to get down to business before I finish all of the food.
---Alec's POV---The moment I scared her, and her coffee spilt on her hand, I felt the need to protect her. This was the first time in years since I've felt this feeling. The moment she came into my life, I've felt all sort of things that I thought I couldn't be able to feel anymore. I looked at her hand after rinsing it under the cold tap to see if it was still hurting. It was slightly red which did make me worry but knowing that she didn't spill a lot made me feel at ease. I should give myself a note to ask one of the workers to send her some ointment for this. I couldn't help but crease her cheeks when I detected some sadness in her voice when I told her that I had to fly out of the country for a couple of days. It wasn't intended to leave just after giving her the contract see I would
---Nevaeh's POV---The moment I pushed him out of the door I couldn't believe what I had just done. Without think, I had teased him and had given him a hard-on without realising. However, I just didn't have enough time to give myself even a second to think about my actions when Camilla came in to tell me that my first meeting of the day was about to start. However, before leaving she told me that Alec had left an ointment for my hand. This did make me feel slightly happy that he was able to think about me, but I remembered that he was the sole reason to why I got burnt in the first place. Within a couple of hours, we had finally gotten through all the meetings without one of the workers being late or out of place.
After getting ready I was already drooling from the smell of pancakes that Iris had started to make. This homely feeling was unfamiliar to me. When I was younger, my parents never stepped into the kitchen and if I wanted to have breakfast, I would have to ask one of the cooks. It was also very rare that I would have breakfast with my family since they would take my sister on her pageant runways and I would wake up in a house that was only filled with workers. They were more like my real families than my actual families. So when I suddenly got bombarded at how I was doing and how I was feeling these couple of days whilst being served a huge plate of delicious pancakes, I couldn't help but wish that I could feel this way forever. "Alec, come down here and eat some pancakes before you leave!
All I wanted to do was to eat this burger in peace. But obviously, this group of males decided to trash my peaceful time and I am so close to hitting them.Nobody! And I mean Nobody should interrupt a women's food time. Especially when this woman has been dragged around by her crazy friends for possibly 4 hours. "Move." "Oh, this woman is feisty. We all like a feisty woman, especially when we can tame them."Now, this pissed me off. Nobody should talk about a woman that way. We are not objecting or something that men can just "tame". "Excuse me. But who the hell are you on about "Taming them" because I know for a fact that you don't mean us!"
---Alec's POV---It was very hard to leave her when she had just moved in. I had one of my PI to give me some background information on her father's company and her life at the house and it shocked me. I couldn't believe my own eyes that someone would treat their child like dirt. I wouldn't have believed that she was their biological child if I didn't see the medical information. This was very shocking, but I guess she is in at a better place at my house than at hers. I also found out that she wasn't financially helped when she was in London. This was very shocking since her father was the owner of a multi-billion company. The information stated that she got most of her financial help from her grandmother if she seriously needed it but o
---Nevaeh's POV---I woke up a couple of days ago and had just gotten discharged from the hospital today. I spent at least 3 days there since they needed to make sure that the drug wouldn't have any side effects on my body, especially when I had reacted that badly to it in the first place. Through those 3 days, I've grown to like Alec as an individual much more. The one main thing that I realised about him was how caring he was in those 3 weeks. He was sitting across my hospital bed and wouldn't leave the room for more than 3 hours. Those were the times he would go home to freshen up and bring back food for me since hospital food wasn't particularly appealing for me and the time that he would check up on his company.
It’s been hard this past couple of weeks. After my father and sister came, I was in a bad mood all week and did just only focus on work. This week was just to make sure that all the planning for the project was coming along smoothly and made sure that I was caught up on all the work that I missed out due to being hospitalized.I needed to make sure that I had everything ready for the next couple of weeks, just to make sure that this project would run smoothly. I had to show my father that I had everything I needed to show them that I can take on the role as the next CEO. "Nevaeh? Do you have some time?" I looked up to see a surprised face, I have not seen his face for a week since I have been in the office most of the time without leavin
