---Alec's POV---
She should be home by now. It had currently been an hour since we called each other and I was confused as to why she wasn't back yet.It only takes around 20 minutes to get home from her company and she was already on her way back when I called her. This was extremely confusing and worrying. I tried calling her a couple of times but she hasn't picked up and I didn't know what to do.Pacing around the house was not helping with my nerves but I could not help it. It was not long before I heard the door open and she walked in."What the hell happened?" I stated in a frantic moment before running up to her to see if she was okay."What do you mean?""It doesn't take you an hour to get back and I thought something serious had happened to you! You had me so worried Tesoro.""I'm sorry, there was a lot of traffic due to an accident on the way back which was why I wThroughout the day, we had gotten everything ready for tonight's ceremony. We did go and see Archie and was grateful that he was doing perfectly fine. It didn't seem like he was rejecting the liver transplant, but the doctor did say that they need to keep him there for another couple of days just in case.Through that period where we went to see Archie, I had a moment where I found myself wondering what it would be like to have a mini Nevaeh or me running around our home. It made me realise that I did think she was the one for me.We have been officially married for around 4 months now. Things have gotten to the point that we are more comfortable with each other and I have never felt this way with another woman. It also worries me that there are only 8 more months to somehow make her fall for me or I could potentially lose her. I just hope that everything will work out on its own when the time comes because I don't think I can see her with anyb
---Nevaeh's POV---It’s been roughly a week since the reveal evening, and everything has been going smoothly.I had just come back from Asia for a week just making sure that everything was running smoothly from the start of the construction."Welcome back!" Alec greeted me the moment I stepped out of the plane. "I am so glad to be back," I replied hugging him whilst he takes my luggage."So, how was it?" He asked as we started the journey to the nearest IHOP since we were both cravings for some pancakes covered in syrup."It was everything that we planned for. They are starting construction as soon as possible and then in a couple of months’ times everything should be up and running since people do things very quickly there."That is very true.""So how were you this whole week?" I asked seeing I couldn’t contact him that much throughout this week due to the time zone difference.
The moment we got back, it was clear that our relationship had changed for the better. We were inseparable due to the confession that we had given each other over the weekend. Thanks for giving was this weekend, so I had to prepare myself to meet his whole family once again. I had met most of them on our wedding night, however, I believe Alec did say that some of them couldn't make it due to some business issues that they had to take care of."Babe! Who are the people who I didn't get to meet on our wedding day?" I asked whilst cutting some cabbages for our side salad."Well, one of my cousins didn't make it due to having a case in London and he wouldn't have made it on time. Other than that it was just my aunt and uncle, but I don't think they will be coming.""How come?" I asked whilst slicing up some cherry tomatoes."They don't associate with our family after my dad was the one who took over the company rather than my uncle. P
"How can you not tell me that." I was shocked at the detailed description that Willow has told me about."I couldn't. The moment I tell you what I had to go through to please father. I would have dragged you into all this mess.""We could have done something about it.""I couldn't though. I knew that the moment I started helping dad, everything would have changed. I was not just his daughter anymore but also a source of income for him.""Playing with people's heart is not a job Willow. You are destroying someone's life with the games that you guys are playing. We seriously need to but a stop to this.Just look at you. This is a reason to stop. Your bruises are the outcome of what would happen when it backfires on you and I can't allow you to continue this any longer!""I know but how do I get out of this mess?""Wait, I'll call Alec and we'll sort something out as soon as possible.""Okay."I quickly ma
---2 week later---"Are you ready?" I asked my sister since our case against our father has been accepted by the court and we will be going to him right now with our lawyer and the charged that we are going to charge him."I am slightly worried but I know that everything will be fine. He is going to get what he deserves and I know that we can win our case with all the evidence that we have.""I know Willow, however, do not forget that this is our father that we are talking about and he has many ways to make sure we do not win."I know I was supposed to give her some reassurance but we are walking in unknown territory. Nobody has ever gotten the courage to go against my father for a reason."I know, however, with the help of your husband, we can be sure that everything is going to go well.""True, let us just hope that everything does go well and things will be fine because my son is waiting for me to hold him in my arms aga
Today is the day, I'm trying to show that the nerves aren't getting to me but hell I'd be lying if I wasn't shitting myself with the fact I am being introduced to the business world again after disappearing 2 years ago.I disappeared to London the moment my senior year was finished, trying to get away from my toxic family and just my toxic life in general. I've always wanted to go to England to sightsee and I was able to have the chance and I took it with both arms the moment it was announced that I got a scholarship to Oxford. Yes, a prestige school but I'm nothing but prestige in my family’s eyes.I believe that I am a normal girl and doesn't give two shits about status and money. I just want to be a better me in every way I can. See that's the difference between me and my family. I want to just be a better pe
I walked onto the stage, hoping to hide my nerves with the fake smile on my face as it was time for me to give my speech after my father is done introducing me to the mass crowd gathered listening eagerly as if my father was the king. "I would like to give a warm welcome to my second daughter, who has come back to the states after 2 years of being abroad at Oxford University, Neveah Miller!" My father stated whilst the stage light points directly at me, blinding me in the process. I carefully walked on stage, hoping to not make fun of myself or my mother would continue to belittle me even more if I couldn't even walk on stage without tripping. Finally getting on the stage, my father allowed me to take the stand whilst he moves off stage to give the ultimate stage fright of the century. I composed myself and got ready to speak.
----Nevaeh's POV----"Baby! You're finally back in the states and look at you with your killer British accent and your beautiful body that you have developed these 2 years in Britain. Going there has done you good." Tiffany exclaimed as she started ranting on about how I am more developed and how she has noticed all the men who have been staring at me non stopped since she's arrived.Knowing she would be going on and on about these thirsty men. I decided to look around and to see where my father was at since the first dance of the night was going to happen soon and this dance has a symbolic meaning towards it that my great-grandma decided that should be a part of the family when she realised that my nan and her father wasn't spending enough quality time together and this dance was a way for allowing the daughters to bond over with even if it was just 3 minut
