My heart was racing as I glanced at my phone, which lay a foot or two away from me, feeling completely confused.

I know for a fact that both my kidnappings were Florence's scheming against me. At first, I only thought she wanted me away for a particular time so she could gain sympathy and become Neil's fiancée.

My heart, however, shuddered when I realized in the hospital that her sole motive was to kill me at any cost. If not for Victor that day, her desperate wish might have come true by now.

I once again turned my gaze to the phone and slowly took it in my shaky hand. Since I've returned to my biological parents, I have never shared my ill luck with Roy or Mama; I did not want to burden them with my miseries anymore, which I successfully failed to do.
