Zelena.
Zoe. Gunner’s first time, his only other time. Why the heck is she still around? After being banished, she was meant to leave. She should be far away from Tri-Moon by now, Gunner can, and will kill her if he catches her near his land. Wait, Zoe is a Were, I've seen her change before, she did it right in front of me. Why then did she struggle so much this time around? Also, what the fuck is she doing with Galterio’s pack?!
Galterio was talking quietly to Zoe, quiet enough that I couldn’t pick up what they were saying. I strained my hearing to try make out the words, but I could only hear parts of it. The words ‘failed me’ and ‘useless’ and ‘no longer needed’ stood out above the rest. I remember Zoe being kind of pretty, big boobs, nice hair and a face full of makeup. But this Zoe was wretched. Skin and bones with a feral look in her eye. I watched her closely as she talked with Galterio. Her mouth twitched a
Zelena.I poked the bear, and now I was going to see if he would bite back.“Are you threatening me, Triple Goddess?” he asked in a deadly yet calm voice. It is the first time I have heard him refer to me as Triple Goddess. Yet somehow, the way he said it didn’t feel like a term of endearment.“Not threatening, just warning” I answered him. Keeping my face even and my tone level. He glared at me, and I glared back at him. We held each other's gaze for I don’t know how long. But after a while he winked at me and smiled. He stood up, took the bucket from my grip and then held out his hand for me.“Come on, I bet you’re hungry again after all that” he said as he waved his hand towards the bucket. How can he do that? Just switch between emotions like flicking on a light switch. It's giving me whiplash. I moved my eyes from his outstretched hand, up and over his thick bicep to his bare chest. A smattering of dark hair coated his chest, leading down to the top of h
Lunaya.“Spawned by the one who gave us breath. Vanished from life but spared from death. The Ethereal one gives she who is promised. To wield the power of the Triple Goddess. Where the moon is three, two will come. Once the seal is made, destiny is done. With one comes death, pain and destruction. The other comes life, love and devotion. Peril will end and the wolf will thrive. But for peace to reign, only one can survive”.I stared into his black eyes and watched as they slowly returned to their normal dark brown. It can’t be possible. It shouldn’t be possible. I heard that same riddle one time before, nearly twenty years ago. I did everything that I could do to stop it from coming to fruition. And I thought that I had succeeded. That prophecy should have died with me and my family seventeen years ago. How and why is he reciting it again now? It shouldn’t be possible.Twenty years ago.“Child, it was nev
Lunaya.I flew upright in the bed and looked around the room. Alyse was laying beside me, and Cleo was asleep in a chair by the window. I’m getting tired of waking up in this room after nearly dying. I really thought I was a goner this time. I was caught off guard the first time I was poisoned with aconite, and it cost me my family. I was never going to let that happen again. If I hadn’t been building up my tolerance to it over the past seventeen years, it would have killed me for sure this time around.Alyse sat up a moment after I did, Cleo’s eyes flew open and she shifted herself to the edge of the seat, her eyes studying me like usual.“Nae, babe, you’re okay?” Alyse asked as she ran her hand through my hair.“I feel like I have been hit by a truck, but I’m alive, apparently” I groaned and took Alyse’s hand. I pulled it to my mouth and pressed my lips to the back of her hand.“Di
Lunaya. I want that Origin Wolf Alpha’s head on a platter and his limbs scattered across the corners of the world. “And your scouts have found nothing? There have been no signs, anywhere, of anything?” asked the Alpha Lace, “Not as yet” Cole answered him, “So, we’re chasing ghosts? How the fuck are we meant to prepare for a fight, when we don’t know who or what we are fighting against?” he shouted. “If you’re too fucking scared to stick around, then head on back to your pack of mutts” Tobias yelled across the table at him, “Howlers are scared of nothing!” he screamed back, “Then why is your tail between your legs?” Tobias sneered. The amount of tension in the room was gagging. Four current Alpha’s, two former Alpha’s, a couple of Beta’s and some warriors, all of which are on edge. I’m surprised that no one has lost an arm... or a throat, yet. “Enough!” Lupus’s loud and firm voice bellowed around the room. The shouting s
Lunaya.Alyse was avoiding me. I tried to talk to her, to apologise, but she just said it was fine and then walked away again. Three times I've tried to get her alone. Three times she has brushed me off. I was too harsh with her, I knew that. But fuck, I just wish that she’d let me apologise. The idea that I have hurt her is killing me. There may be a lot going on right now, and a lot still to come. I just really don’t like the thought of going into a fight with our relationship the way it is. I need to make it right, before we leave.Night fell not two hours ago, and the Tri-Moon village is a constant stream of activity. After the second meeting a more thorough battle plan was arranged and communicated to the incoming fighters. Elaine confirmed that Luna Eclipse had landed and were on the road. The other packs had begun their journey to the Causeway. Alpha Ambrose has proven himself to be a very capable strategist, his mind
Lunaya. The Luna Eclipse warriors surrounded their Alpha, readying themselves into attacking stances. Fuck, what have I done? Alpha Hina stood firm with her gaze piercing into mine. I have questioned her intentions, in front of everyone. This can’t possibly end well. When all of a sudden, Hina began to laugh. A full and happy belly laugh. I can safely say, that was not the kind of reaction I thought she was going to have. I expected growling, snarling and even violence. Not this. “I have missed your crazy imagination” she cackled and wiped an imaginary tear from her eye. “We are not here to steal your child, Lunaya. After hearing that she had seen, spoken to, and even visited the home of the Moon Goddess, I knew that she is beyond special. I had to meet her for myself. And just as well too. We have come right on time to help you get her back” she said with an amount of humour and joy in h
Zelena.Galterio’s mouth slid along the skin of my neck. Goosebumps covered my skin, but not the good kind. I felt like I was flying above my body, watching the situation unfold. I could barely move a muscle, my energy had been completely depleted. But I fought desperately to stay awake. I couldn’t pass out. My mind flooded with images of my past. Of Hank beating me to the point of oblivion. How I fought to stay awake, each time. Always afraid of what else he may do to me if I was unconscious. I never thought I would be back in this position. Completely defenceless against an animal that could do whatever they wanted to me.I don’t know how he did it, but however Galterio managed to break through my power, it did some serious damage to me. I was a limp noodle on his lap. Unable to fight back, unable to defend myself, completely vulnerable, and his for the taking. His fingers squeezed my neck as he moved his mouth over t
Zelena. I’m not ready to say goodbye to Gunner. Galterio moved his hand to the back of my neck and turned my head to face upwards. Still, I kept my eyes closed. His hot breath brushed against my face. He was close to me, really close. My first kiss with Gunner, that’s when everything changed for us. That’s when I knew for sure how I truly felt about him. Is Galterio about to kiss me? Would the same kind of thing happen if I don’t kiss him back? I felt his face hovering just above my own. His presence was hard to ignore. He moved his head to the crook of my neck and inhaled deeply. He groaned, a deep and pleasure filled groan, and then buried his face into my hair and neck. “You smell delectable” he breathed heavily. His mouth found the skin of my neck, and he began to nibble and suck at the tender flesh. The feel of his skin on mine was relieving the burning sensation. But the internal feeling that it ensued in my stomach, was far from the kind of feeling a M
Zelena. With my head on Tobias’s chest and the warmth of his body washing over me, his steady heartbeat was slowly lulling me to sleep. That peace was broken when a group of wolves came running through the village, stopping at the bottom of the porch steps. I stood up and walked to the railing, only for Tobias to push me behind him and growl down at the gathered wolves. The largest of the group, a brownish orange wolf, changed form and stood up. I recognise this guy, he’s the same age as Gunner and me, and a friend of Gunner’s. He had been making his way up in the ranks over the past few months. Daniel, I think his name is. I stepped around Tobias and looked down at the muscular Were. His blonde hair sat in a shaggy mess of curls atop his head, and his dark hazel eyes looked back up at me. He was quite tall, with a slim frame sporting a lot of defined muscles. “You’re Daniel, right?” I asked him. He bowed his head and placed his hand over his heart. “
Epilogue.Zelena.My brain is ready to explode. Firstly, I find out that I'm pregnant, which of course I'm thrilled about now. Admittedly, I was terrified at first, but it’s hard to be scared when so many people around you are happy and excited. Their excitement has rubbed off on me. Roe has already started arranging a Litter Party, which is apparently like a baby shower. She hasn’t let me see it, but I know she is working on a nursery as well. Nat has been a constant at my side. Always happy to talk babies and throwing ridiculous baby names at me. Something is going on with Nat, I can’t put my finger on it yet. She has been avoiding talking about herself, which is weird and alarming all on its own. Each time I try to talk about her, she swings the topic back around to me or babies. Maybe she is just lonely, with Smith taking on most of the Beta duties, he is barely around. I understand if that’s what is bothering her, I miss him too. Smith is m
Lunaya.“You’re pregnant” I blurted out.Zelena choked and sat up straight. Her wide eyes finding mine immediately.“Excuse me?” she squeaked. Gunner snaked his arm further around her waist and pulled her into him closer. A protective and possessive motion. Something I remember all too well with Micha. His protective instincts increased tenfold. He was a warrior, so he was already very protective. But the second he could sense hispup,he wouldn’t let anyone get close to me without a warning growl. Gunner’s an Alpha, so his instincts would be higher still.
Lunaya.Alyse and I were huddled in the corner booth, stuffing our faces with bread and lukewarm stew. Alyse had her legs draped over mine so that she was nearly in my lap. I had a piece of bread hanging between my teeth as I waved it in front of Alyse’s mouth. She chuckled and snapped her teeth at the bread, pulling it from my mouth. I laughed and grabbed either side of her face, I pulled her to me and pressed my lips to her cheek. The kitchen door flew open and in walked Gunner with Zelena in his arms. She had her arms and legs wrapped around him like a koala. Alyse and I went silent as we watched them enter. Gunner paused and flicked his eyes to mine. He quickly looked to Alyse and then down at the bowls in front of us, before continuing on into the kitchen. I sat up straight, expecting that he would put Zelena down so I could see her. But instead, he kept one arm under her backside and carried her with him to the fridge. Zelena had her head nuzzled into the crook of
Lunaya.I left Zelena to rest and went in search of Alyse. No doubt she is tending to the injured Weres. As I made my way outside, I found the clearing filled with bandaged and bloodied Weres. Most of them were up and about, walking around or sitting and talking. Some, however, were laid out on stretcher beds, in far worse shape. A few tables had been set up with some she-wolves serving food to the warriors. I spotted Alyse flittering between two stretcher beds and made my way to her.“Can I help?” I asked. I stepped up behind her as she was wiping the blood from a she-wolfs face. Alyse jumped with a squeak and turned around, I’d startled her. I smiled and she sighed.“No love, you need to rest as well. Go get yourself something to eat, I will join you shortly” she squeezed my forearm with a soft smile on her beautiful face, before turning back to the she-wolf. I looked around and spotted Ares sitting with his sister on some large l
Lunaya. That fucking Origin Alpha. He tried to force her to be his Mate. Not the first time a descendant of Gill has tried to blend the bloodlines. The fucker already had a Mate and heir, plus Zelena has a destined Mate. What idiot told him that it would work. Oh, let me guess that fool of a Prophet. Fucking bastards. Artemis thought she had to choose between two mates, and so they tried to force her hand. Those damned idiots! My anger flared and before I got the chance to compose myself, I slammed my fist into the tiled wall. The tiles cracked and shattered at the force of my punch and then clattered to the floor. Tobias looked at me with a quirked eyebrow, “You already know?” he said. “Yeh, I already know. The Origin Alpha, right? That fucking treacherous line of egotistical morons. Gill’s descendants have been trying to snag a daughter of Selena for generations. Came close at one point, but they never succeeded in joining the lines” I snarled. “Com
Lunaya. The trip back to Tri-Moon was dismal. All of Lua Chei, apart from Analah, Ares and four others, went back to their pack lands. Alpha Travis bid farewell and left for Waning Wolf with his warriors. Tobias insisted that his brother, Alpha Marius, went back home. They argued over it for a while, but Tobias won, and his brother went back to their pack. Alpha Lace however, he refused to go home. He sent his men and Beta back, keeping only three Weres with him. He was very insistent on coming back to Tri-Moon, and I am very curious as to why.Tobias and Gunner were very tight-lipped about what ever happened out there. All they said was that the Origin Alpha murdered Cole, and then they killed him in return. As for Zelena and her unconscious state, they said that she depleted her energy fighting off the Alpha. I could tell they were lying. Zelena is a Triple Goddess. It would have weakened her, but not to this extent. Something else happened. And I'll be dammed if the
Zelena. “It’s my fault. I sent my brother to die” Gunner cried and squeezed his arms. My chest constricted under his hold, and I couldn’t take a full breath. But my concern was for my pup. His arms were crushing me under the weight of his guilt, and our pup along with it. I tapped on his head to let me go but my signal didn’t register. *Gunner, you’re crushing our pup* I flashed him in a strained tone. He immediately shot himself back, flying his body off the bed and across the room. He held his hands out in front of him, like he was trying to show me he wouldn’t hurt me. The same way he did on the day I first changed. I know he won't hurt me on purpose. What is this about? “I’m sorry, I'm sorry. I didn’t mean to, I swear it” he rushed out as his eyes swept down my body. A look of shame and disgust filled his eyes. But I could still feel him, his emotions and tho
Zelena. “Mother?” I said meekly. “Yes, daughter of mine” Selene answered me. “You’re Selene, the Moon Goddess?” Gunner stated obviously. She turned her angry eyes to him and nodded. Gunner dropped to the ground on his hands and knees with his head pressed into the dirt. Tobias huffed and shook his head. “Too late for that don’t you think? You've already insulted and disrespected her” he grumbled. “Stand up boy” Selene snapped. Gunner shot back up to his feet immediately. He stood with his hands at his side and his head facing down. “Mother, what are you doing here?” I asked her, stepping forward. “I had no choice. I won’t stand back and watch you destroy yourselves. You are meant for more than that” she hissed harshly. I lowered my head as I filled with shame. She's mad. I made her mad. “I... I'm sorry” I said softly. A tear ran down my cheek as I looked back up at her. Her pale white eyes gazed back at me sadly. She wa
