Chapter 25 - A scolding

“Where the fuck were you? I told you to stay next to her the entire time. Was that really so fucking difficult?” Gunner’s angry voice filled the entire office, bouncing off the walls and reverberating back through my ears.
Roe sat in the matching chair next to me, her hands placed in her lap and her head bowed down in shame. Felix stood between the two chairs with his shoulders held firm and high, but his head bowed, and hands clasped behind his back. Gunner has been raging now for nearly twenty minutes. First at Felix, then his mum, he gave me a few stern words and is now back to screaming at Felix.
“I told you, I fucking told you that more would come for her. But no! You had to leave the village, you just had to go shopping”.

Zelena.A few hours later I sat on the porch swing looking over the village, the sun has disappeared behind the trees and the summer air was thick with anticipation. Set up for the party tomorrow night was well underway. Zelena.I stabbed my fork into the piece of steak and swirled it around my plate, stirring it through the thick gravy. The dinner table was full of chatter about the upcoming celebration, excitement was buzzing through the air. This is going to be the biggest ascension ceremony that Tri-Moon has ever seen. Lunaya.I snapped my eyes to Elaine, as Beta this proposition was all her call. A scurry of thoughts berated my brain. She will never agree to this, Luna Eclipse are too secretive. Epilogue.Zelena.My brain is ready to explode. Firstly, I find out that I'm pregnant, which of course I'm thrilled about now. Admittedly, I was terrified at first, but it’s hard to be scared when so many people around you are happy and excited. Their excitement has rubbed off on me. Roe has already started arranging a Litter Party, which is apparently like a baby shower. She hasn’t let me see it, but I know she is working on a nursery as well. Nat has been a constant at my side.
