Zelena.

A few hours later I sat on the porch swing looking over the village, the sun has disappeared behind the trees and the summer air was thick with anticipation. Set up for the party tomorrow night was well underway. Some big brawly pack members were nearly done building what looked like a raised platform or stage, and long picnic tables were being laid out in rows before it. Big tents were being set up around the outskirts of the village, for the members of the visiting packs to stay in. A lot of Blue Moon members were coming, one of which is Marius, Tobias’s younger brother and Beta. He had become good friends with Gunner while I was in my coma. I don’t think Gunner knows about my first interaction with Marius and the comments that were made, hopefully he never will. After all, it was just innocent flirting. Nothing worth jeopardising a friendship and strong alliance over.

This afternoon I managed to catch parts of a tense conversation between Gunner

Zelena.I stabbed my fork into the piece of steak and swirled it around my plate, stirring it through the thick gravy. The dinner table was full of chatter about the upcoming celebration, excitement was buzzing through the air. This is going to be the biggest ascension ceremony that Tri-Moon has ever seen. The fact had been mentioned many times. I am excited. To officially take my place as Luna and legitimately announce my arrival, or the arrival of the Triple Goddess. But I’m terrified also. Gunner has been running things since the day we announced ourselves to the pack, his father has been helping with the transition. But come tomorrow night, we will both be formally taking our place as leaders of the pack. Though at this point, it is just a formality.“You’re very quiet tonight” Gunner said softly leaning over his chair, closer to me.“Got a lot on my mind” I half smiled at him.“Like that favour I need to repay you?” he smirked. I frowned at him and quick

Zelena.I was trapped and unable to move.“Gunner” I huffed, partly from surprise, partly from annoyance at his roughness.“What is going on?” he growled down at me,“What do you mean?” I squeaked,“You expect me to believe that an Alpha as strong and powerful as Tobias would just give it all up?”“He explained that to you. What don’t you understand?”“Are you fucking him?” Gunner hissed viciously. His chest vibrated against me and it immediately sent a rage burning through my body. How dare he. Drawing in the energy of the night, I used my powers to push him back and away from me. He tumbled over one of the chairs but quickly jumped back to his feet.“How dare you!” I yelled. He stepped towards me and I lifted my hand, closing my fist tightly. I pictured my fingers wrapped around him, holding him in place as if he were a doll in my hand.

  • Mother of the Moon   Chapter 30 - We Have a Booking

Lunaya. We turned off the highway and onto a dirt road at the Trout Point Lodge sign. This was the beginning of the Lua Chei pack borders. We drove much slower along the gravely road, with the sun hidden behind the tall trees and the roughness of the road, it was way too dangerous to maintain our previous speed. After only five minutes on the track a flash of something dark darting past the window caught my attention. I searched the darkening surroundings for whatever it was, when I spotted another.“There are wolves surrounding us” I said not taking my eyes off the pale brown wolf running through the trees alongside our car.“Yes, I noticed” Elaine responded, seeming somewhat unfazed.“And what if they don’t accept us on their land? Hina only booked the accommodation, she didn’t contact the Alpha to alert him of our arrival” I said turning to glance at Elaine’s stoic face.“We will deal with that if it comes to it” she said lowering her eyes and tighte

Lunaya.Just as I lifted my feet to relax, a knock sounded at the door. I stood up and walked over, opening the door to find a teenage boy with our backpacks.“Hello, I’m Akela. I’ve brought your bags” he said handing me the first bag,“Thank you” I said as I took them and placed them by the door. I looked over the young boy. His blonde hair accentuated his sharp young features. He couldn’t be more than maybe sixteen. His face held characteristics of the Luna, Astéri.“Are you related to the Luna?” I asked him.“Uh yes, I’m the youngest of six Alpha-sons and three Alpha-daughters”“Well shit, your parents have been busy” I chuckled. He laughed awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck.“Yeh, it’s gross” he sneered avoiding eye contact. I could tell he didn’t want to talk about his parents mating habits, but the blush on his cheeks and his awkward demeanour made it hard to resist in teasing him a little more.“No, it’s a beautiful thing

“I hope you don’t mind, but we have arranged a set menu for tonight” Astéri called out as she stood up in her seat beside Elaine. We smiled, nodded and agreed without hesitation and then a line of waiters walked through the doors, each holding three dishes. They placed them on the table in front of each of us and the smell attacked my nose, leaving me salivating. I have no idea what it is, but I can’t wait to eat it, holy shit does it smell good. After each person had a plate, the waiters left and Astéri waved her arms.“Please, dig in”.I didn’t hesitate and picked up a small round ball and plopped it in my mouth. I moaned as soon as it hit my tongue. Still no idea what it is, but I don’t care. I just want more. Alyse elbowed my ribs and I turned to glare at her.“Can you at least pretend not to be a heathen” she scolded while gesturing to her knife and fork. I smiled meekly and nodded, p

  • Mother of the Moon   Chapter 33 - An Agreement

Lunaya.I snapped my eyes to Elaine, as Beta this proposition was all her call. A scurry of thoughts berated my brain. She will never agree to this, Luna Eclipse are too secretive. She has to agree, it’s our only way to find her. This would never work, Hina would hate this idea.“Agreed” Elaine said standing up and taking Astéri’s forearm. My mouth hit the floor. I thought it would take a hell of a lot longer for her to agree than that, or that she would need to consult Hina or something. Relief washed though me and I smiled to Alyse. But wait, Astéri just threw this offer out there so quickly, did she discuss it with her daughter at all or is she just being throw to the wolves. Literally. How could she be ok with leaving her family and her home to travel halfway across the planet. Also, would she stay there indefinitely or come back again after the alliance is made. I looked up to Analah who was sitting next to her mother.

Lunaya.I finished off my breakfast and started to pull on a pair of denim shorts when Alyse finally reemerged from the bathroom. She had her brown hair pulled up into a high ponytail, showing off her freckled face. She had on a pair of cargo shorts and a dark blue tank top. She walked over to me and pressed her lips to my cheek, I could smell the fresh toothpaste on her breath.“Okay, let’s go” I said with a smirk,“You’re ready then?” she said while looking me up and down,“Sure am” I stood in front of her with my hand on my hips and my legs shoulder width apart.“Well, I'm not one to argue, and I reckon a few of the locals would for sure like your outfit, however I have some concerns” Alyse held back a smile as she rubbed her chin, eyeing me.“What could possibly be wrong?” I teased.“The boots, great, and practical. The shorts, also great. The lack of shirt and bra, I find a little worrying” Alyse spoke, trying her hardest to maintain a

Zelena.“Oh my god” I moaned loudly as I flopped back onto the mattress. My every muscle ached, and every inch of skin was glistening with hot sweat. I feel completely spent and exhausted. I turned my head to gaze at Gunner puffing beside me. Just the sight of him has me ready and raring to go again. I rolled onto my side and traced my finger over his chest and circled his nipples.“Do you forgive me yet?” he huffed with his eyes close.“Hmm… almost” I teased and tugged lightly on one of his nipples.“I don’t know how much more I can offer you” he said with a wince and grabbed my hand off his chest. Oh, I could think of many, many more things he could do to me. But we’ve been at it for hours and we both need to sleep eventually. Eventually. I lifted myself up and straddled his chest. His hands came to rest on my hips, and he growled softly.“You are insatiable” he groane

Zelena. With my head on Tobias’s chest and the warmth of his body washing over me, his steady heartbeat was slowly lulling me to sleep. That peace was broken when a group of wolves came running through the village, stopping at the bottom of the porch steps. I stood up and walked to the railing, only for Tobias to push me behind him and growl down at the gathered wolves. The largest of the group, a brownish orange wolf, changed form and stood up. I recognise this guy, he’s the same age as Gunner and me, and a friend of Gunner’s. He had been making his way up in the ranks over the past few months. Daniel, I think his name is. I stepped around Tobias and looked down at the muscular Were. His blonde hair sat in a shaggy mess of curls atop his head, and his dark hazel eyes looked back up at me. He was quite tall, with a slim frame sporting a lot of defined muscles. “You’re Daniel, right?” I asked him. He bowed his head and placed his hand over his heart. “

  • Mother of the Moon   Epilogue 1

Epilogue.Zelena.My brain is ready to explode. Firstly, I find out that I'm pregnant, which of course I'm thrilled about now. Admittedly, I was terrified at first, but it’s hard to be scared when so many people around you are happy and excited. Their excitement has rubbed off on me. Roe has already started arranging a Litter Party, which is apparently like a baby shower. She hasn’t let me see it, but I know she is working on a nursery as well. Nat has been a constant at my side. Always happy to talk babies and throwing ridiculous baby names at me. Something is going on with Nat, I can’t put my finger on it yet. She has been avoiding talking about herself, which is weird and alarming all on its own. Each time I try to talk about her, she swings the topic back around to me or babies. Maybe she is just lonely, with Smith taking on most of the Beta duties, he is barely around. I understand if that’s what is bothering her, I miss him too. Smith is m

Lunaya.“You’re pregnant” I blurted out.Zelena choked and sat up straight. Her wide eyes finding mine immediately.“Excuse me?” she squeaked. Gunner snaked his arm further around her waist and pulled her into him closer. A protective and possessive motion. Something I remember all too well with Micha. His protective instincts increased tenfold. He was a warrior, so he was already very protective. But the second he could sense hispup,he wouldn’t let anyone get close to me without a warning growl. Gunner’s an Alpha, so his instincts would be higher still.

Lunaya.Alyse and I were huddled in the corner booth, stuffing our faces with bread and lukewarm stew. Alyse had her legs draped over mine so that she was nearly in my lap. I had a piece of bread hanging between my teeth as I waved it in front of Alyse’s mouth. She chuckled and snapped her teeth at the bread, pulling it from my mouth. I laughed and grabbed either side of her face, I pulled her to me and pressed my lips to her cheek. The kitchen door flew open and in walked Gunner with Zelena in his arms. She had her arms and legs wrapped around him like a koala. Alyse and I went silent as we watched them enter. Gunner paused and flicked his eyes to mine. He quickly looked to Alyse and then down at the bowls in front of us, before continuing on into the kitchen. I sat up straight, expecting that he would put Zelena down so I could see her. But instead, he kept one arm under her backside and carried her with him to the fridge. Zelena had her head nuzzled into the crook of

Lunaya.I left Zelena to rest and went in search of Alyse. No doubt she is tending to the injured Weres. As I made my way outside, I found the clearing filled with bandaged and bloodied Weres. Most of them were up and about, walking around or sitting and talking. Some, however, were laid out on stretcher beds, in far worse shape. A few tables had been set up with some she-wolves serving food to the warriors. I spotted Alyse flittering between two stretcher beds and made my way to her.“Can I help?” I asked. I stepped up behind her as she was wiping the blood from a she-wolfs face. Alyse jumped with a squeak and turned around, I’d startled her. I smiled and she sighed.“No love, you need to rest as well. Go get yourself something to eat, I will join you shortly” she squeezed my forearm with a soft smile on her beautiful face, before turning back to the she-wolf. I looked around and spotted Ares sitting with his sister on some large l

Lunaya. That fucking Origin Alpha. He tried to force her to be his Mate. Not the first time a descendant of Gill has tried to blend the bloodlines. The fucker already had a Mate and heir, plus Zelena has a destined Mate. What idiot told him that it would work. Oh, let me guess that fool of a Prophet. Fucking bastards. Artemis thought she had to choose between two mates, and so they tried to force her hand. Those damned idiots! My anger flared and before I got the chance to compose myself, I slammed my fist into the tiled wall. The tiles cracked and shattered at the force of my punch and then clattered to the floor. Tobias looked at me with a quirked eyebrow, “You already know?” he said. “Yeh, I already know. The Origin Alpha, right? That fucking treacherous line of egotistical morons. Gill’s descendants have been trying to snag a daughter of Selena for generations. Came close at one point, but they never succeeded in joining the lines” I snarled. “Com

  • Mother of the Moon   Chapter 100 - Shower

Lunaya. The trip back to Tri-Moon was dismal. All of Lua Chei, apart from Analah, Ares and four others, went back to their pack lands. Alpha Travis bid farewell and left for Waning Wolf with his warriors. Tobias insisted that his brother, Alpha Marius, went back home. They argued over it for a while, but Tobias won, and his brother went back to their pack. Alpha Lace however, he refused to go home. He sent his men and Beta back, keeping only three Weres with him. He was very insistent on coming back to Tri-Moon, and I am very curious as to why.Tobias and Gunner were very tight-lipped about what ever happened out there. All they said was that the Origin Alpha murdered Cole, and then they killed him in return. As for Zelena and her unconscious state, they said that she depleted her energy fighting off the Alpha. I could tell they were lying. Zelena is a Triple Goddess. It would have weakened her, but not to this extent. Something else happened. And I'll be dammed if the

Zelena. “It’s my fault. I sent my brother to die” Gunner cried and squeezed his arms. My chest constricted under his hold, and I couldn’t take a full breath. But my concern was for my pup. His arms were crushing me under the weight of his guilt, and our pup along with it. I tapped on his head to let me go but my signal didn’t register. *Gunner, you’re crushing our pup* I flashed him in a strained tone. He immediately shot himself back, flying his body off the bed and across the room. He held his hands out in front of him, like he was trying to show me he wouldn’t hurt me. The same way he did on the day I first changed. I know he won't hurt me on purpose. What is this about? “I’m sorry, I'm sorry. I didn’t mean to, I swear it” he rushed out as his eyes swept down my body. A look of shame and disgust filled his eyes. But I could still feel him, his emotions and tho

Zelena. “Mother?” I said meekly. “Yes, daughter of mine” Selene answered me. “You’re Selene, the Moon Goddess?” Gunner stated obviously. She turned her angry eyes to him and nodded. Gunner dropped to the ground on his hands and knees with his head pressed into the dirt. Tobias huffed and shook his head. “Too late for that don’t you think? You've already insulted and disrespected her” he grumbled. “Stand up boy” Selene snapped. Gunner shot back up to his feet immediately. He stood with his hands at his side and his head facing down. “Mother, what are you doing here?” I asked her, stepping forward. “I had no choice. I won’t stand back and watch you destroy yourselves. You are meant for more than that” she hissed harshly. I lowered my head as I filled with shame. She's mad. I made her mad. “I... I'm sorry” I said softly. A tear ran down my cheek as I looked back up at her. Her pale white eyes gazed back at me sadly. She wa
