The village had warm, bustling feel to it.

It wasn't a rowdy kind of noisy place like the town she had come from.

There was noise as they walked down the road yes, but it was not the annoying sound of a car engine from an old rickety truck that was sure ready to breathe it's last in a garage or loud honking or yelling.

It was just children giggling or playing around and adults smiling and engaging in heartfelt discussion.

Yet something was odd. With the way they stared at her as she walked down the road beside Lucinda.

Some would turn to look at her longer than you should a stranger. She thought maybe it was because of Lucinda, but no it was her eyes they met in a cold gaze. Sometimes she would smile and it would not be returned.

She exhaled nervously. Maybe it is because she is a stranger afterall.

They are probably not used to have strangers come by often.
