Keva-

“Natalie Black.” Ethan announced with a voice of pride.

My head snapped around so fast that it cracked. My body went numb when my eyes landed on another female in the crowd, illuminated by a bright spotlight. I couldn’t say or do anything as I watched the female smile sweetly at everyone as she walked forward.

Once the female stood beside Ethan, he wrapped his arm around her, hugging her to his side. Staggering back, I barely managed to keep myself upright. In my wildest dreams, I never expected this.

“This is Princess Natalie Black. She has been the one helping me improve the pack. With her and the help of her family, we have even received an invitation to attend a banquet held in my honor. With this banquet, Stark Growlers will be a recognized pack in the community.”

My mind stalled as I remembered my brother telling me that my father was planning to hold a ceremony. But why did Ethan think it was because of Natalie? Still unable to move, I stared at the man I had loved and sacrificed for as he hugged another woman.

“When my father, the Alpha King, knew I had fallen in love, he couldn’t be happier.” Natalie smiled as she snuggled against Ethan.

Wait… My mind slowly started catching up. Natalie was a fake. Not only was she using my last name, but she was claiming to be me. My eyes widened as I couldn’t believe that my identity had been stolen. It is not only my identity but also my credit for helping Ethan.

“Don’t worry. I will make sure that you receive the best. Even if I am not as wealthy as your family or as strong, I promise to work hard and make sure you aren’t embarrassed.” Ethan smiled at Natalie, just as he had once smiled at me.

“I believe in you.” Natalie stood on the tips of her toes and kissed Ethan on the cheek.

“But, there is something I must do first.” Ethan’s voice lowered as his eyes moved to me. “I, Alpha Ethan Lewis, reject you as my mate, Keva Black.”

Pain exploded through my chest as I stumbled forward with my hand over my heart. This time, I couldn’t keep myself upright. Dropping to one knee, unable to withstand the pain, I dropped my other hand to the ground to brace myself.

“This is her?” Natalie asked as they both moved toward me.

“Yes. She is the one who tricked me into becoming her mate. I tried to refuse, but she must have drugged me.”

I was too stunned to say anything as Ethan spoke. Murmurs moved through the crowd. Many called me shameless and a slut. Many accused me of seducing the Princess’s man. Others didn’t speak but could feel their disdainful gaze upon me.

“I was too ashamed to be tricked by someone like her, so I tried to hide it.” Ethan’s expression became pitiful.

“Everyone knows we are together and have been for almost a year. No one will blame you for falling into her trap. I know you have been faithful because you are with me in our home every night.” Natalie rubbed Ethan’s arm, which she clung to.

I gasped at hearing her words. A year? Ethan has been with her for almost a year? I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It was like ice-cold water suddenly poured over my head. The pain in my chest dissipated, as did the fog in my brain. Slowly standing, my eyes narrowed on Ethan.

“Are you kidding me?” I couldn’t stop myself from yelling.

“I didn’t want to do this in front of everyone, but I didn’t know how else to get you to understand that the one that I love is Natalie, not you. Whenever I tried to do this privately, you would cling to me and try to force my hand with the mate bond. I thought the best way to get you to leave me alone was to reject you so that the bond could break. Now, you can’t try to use the mate bond against me.”

More gossip spread through everyone gathered. I didn’t let the gossip get to me, but I couldn’t deny that I was humiliated—not by him rejecting me but by his lies. Shaking my head, I dropped my hand from my chest. Clenching my hands into fists, I took a step forward.

“I will accept the rejection, but first, you must explain why you have forsaken our two years together. Not just two years, but longer. I admit that I fell in love with you when I saved you from those rogues, but you were the one to initiate the mate bond.” My teeth ground together as I saw a smug look cross over Natalie’s face.

“For over two years, I sacrificed everything for you. I worked endlessly to raise money for the pack. I trained you so you could join the warriors and start rising through the ranks. Everything I did for you was so you could reach the pinnacle of life and accomplish the man you aspired to be.” I continued.

“I admit you helped me train, but Natalie has been the one helping me. The resources she provided for me are more than you can ever accomplish. You are nothing more than a runaway that I took in.” Ethan’s gaze turned cold and deadly.

“Do you really think she,” I lifted my arm and pointed at Natalie. “Is capable of all of that? Do you seriously believe that she is the Alpha King’s daughter?”

“If not me, who?” Natalie scoffed. “Wait, don’t tell me that you are claiming to be the daughter of the Alpha King.” She laughed.

I opened my mouth to respond but shut it as I looked around. I had planned to tell him my identity in private, but as I looked around, I decided that it no longer mattered. It was clear that Ethan had made his choice, so I wanted him to understand that he was wrong and regret it.

“I don’t claim to be. I am.” I folded my arms over my chest and stared them down.

Many people started laughing, but I didn’t bat an eye as I looked at the two before me.

“Just because we have the same last name doesn’t mean you can claim to be me.” Natalie rolled her eyes. “When my brother gets here, you will regret it pretending to be me.”

“Your brother?” My brows lifted and arched.

“Yes, my brother Silas, the future Alpha King, is on his way to deliver gifts for my mate.” Natalie huffed as she lifted her chin proudly in the air.

My brows pulled together as I tried to understand how Natalie was so well-informed. I just learned what my brother was planning a little over an hour ago. So, how did Natalie know what my brother and I talked about?

“Is that so?” I asked.

“It is. He should be here any minute.” Natalie’s smug attitude was really getting on my nerves.

“Considering, I told my brother I planned to tell Ethan my identity in private. I asked him not to bring any gifts. So, hate to tell you this, but there won’t be any gifts today from Silas.” I huffed.

“Enough!” Ethan growled. “Don’t think that just because we were mated, I will allow you to disrespect Natalie. You are just upset and trying to make her look bad so that I will return to you.”

“Do you seriously believe that I have any interest in you after this? From this moment forward, I, Keva Black, accept your rejection. I will never return to the mate bond between me and Ethan, or I shall die a painful death.” As soon as I spoke the words, I was filled with satisfaction when Ethan crumbled to the ground in agonizing pain.

“Ethan!” Natalie screamed as she knelt beside Ethan as he rolled on the ground and cried out.

“For an Alpha, you take the breaking of a mate bond like a wimp.” I sneered.

“How dare you attack your Alpha!” Natalie yelled as she shot to her feet and slapped me across the face.

I didn’t allow myself to lose my cool. Touching my face, which was warm to the touch and stung a little, I smirked. This was the woman Ethan chose over me? She looked okay, but at best, she was a little over average. She also had a terrible attitude and couldn’t keep her composure. This was the Luna the pack wanted.

“You two are perfect for each other.” I chuckled as I dropped my hand from my face. “I don’t know what I ever seen in Ethan. He isn’t worthy of being an Alpha.” My gaze fell on Ethan, who was still writhing in pain on the ground. “Besides, he was the one who wanted to break the mate bond, so he will need to face the consequences of his actions.”

“You must have done something to him. When your bond broke, you weren’t in much pain.” Someone said from behind me.

“That is because your beloved Alpha is weak. I, on the other hand, am not.” I shrugged.

“Bitch!” Ethan roared as he struggled to get to his feet. “I will make you pay for this!”

“What are you going to do?” I crossed my arms once more.

“I will make you suffer.” Ethan spoke through clenched teeth, obviously still in immense pain.

“You aren’t capable of it.”

“I made you suffer six months ago and plenty of other times.”

“Oh?” I tilted my head to the side as I glanced him over from head to toe. “How so?”

“Aren’t you curious how your perfectly healthy child was suddenly lost?” Ethan’s voice sounded clearer, and he didn’t seem to be in as much pain.

His words were like needles under my flesh, bringing every nerve into overdrive. “It was you?”

I already knew why I miscarried, but I never in my wildest dreams would have suspected that it was Ethan. I never even told him how I lost the child, as I was afraid he would be worried. After I miscarried, I went to the doctor and learned that I had been drugged, which caused me to lose the baby. I had begged the doctor not to reveal how it happened, but I did become more careful after that.

“When I met Natalie, I understood that she was the one I was meant to be with. Since we were still mated, I knew I had to end things with you. Since I was on the fast track to becoming Alpha, I couldn’t risk letting you have my child and ruin everything. So I had your pregnancy terminated.”

Anger surged through me to the point that I could barely keep myself from attacking Ethan. As much as I wanted to, I knew now wasn’t the time. Right now, I am surrounded by him and his members. Glancing at the others, I hoped to turn things around.

“Do you hear this?” I asked everyone. “This is your Alpha. If he is willing to turn against his own flesh and blood, he will eventually turn against everyone.”

Looking from face to face, I thought someone would be appalled by Ethan’s actions, but I was wrong.

“Do you think anyone will side with you? I am their Alpha.” Ethan chuckled. “Actually, some were even in on it. Think about it: the doctor you went to see told you that you had complications from the miscarriage, and that is why you still experience pain. When have you ever heard of a womb not healing after six months?”

“But…” I began, but Natalie cut me off.

“The pain you experienced was from your mate not being faithful.” Natalie wrapped her arms around Ethan’s waist.

I did think about it for a long minute. I tried to remember the first time I felt the pain, which happened to be well before I became pregnant. When I miscarried, I had been nearing my due date. When I first felt an unbearable pain in my stomach, I had went to the doctor but couldn’t find out what the problem was.

Considering the first time I noticed the pain had been over a year ago. At that time, I thought Ethan and I were still doing good. He hadn’t stayed home throughout the night but often returned home randomly. We had sex regularly, and I never noticed signs of him cheating.

Only after I became pregnant did he stop touching me. My eyes widened as reality dawned on me. The entire time, I thought he was under stress and had changed. It was because he was outside fucking someone else.

“You will all regret this.” I gritted my teeth.

What happened next happened so fast that I barely registered it. My hand moved to cover my stinging cheek as I stared at the man I once loved.

“You hit me?” I asked an obvious question, but I was too stunned to care.

“So what if I hit you? As Alpha, I can do whatever I want.” Ethan shrugged.

“Is this the Alpha you have chosen?” I looked over at the previous Alpha.

“As long as he can help the pack grow and bring us benefits, he is the best choice.” The previous Alpha gave a one-shoulder shrug as he continued sipping his wine.

“I promise you that he won’t be able to bring any benefits to the pack. Since he has cut ties with me, I will no longer help him.” I turned my glare onto Ethan.

“You aren’t the one who helped the pack, my new mate, the daughter of the Alpha King, did.”

“She is lying! She isn’t his daughter!” I yelled.

Needing to release some anger, I stepped forward to backhand Ethan for his betrayal. Before my hand could connect with his face, Natalie reacted and kicked me in the stomach. I hadn’t prepared and was so blinded by rage that I stumbled backward.

I tried to catch myself, but someone behind me stuck out their leg, and I tripped over it. Before I could get up, someone grabbed me by my hair and pulled me back, preventing me from standing. I tried to break free of the hold, but I was struck across the stomach.

It didn’t stop there. Repeatedly, someone hit me in the stomach. The person who was grabbing my hair had a tight grip, forcing my head back so I couldn’t see who was hitting me. The hits were relentless, and I couldn’t catch my breath.

When they finally released me, I rushed forward to get away from them, but then Natalie backhanded me across the face. I flew sideways, tripping over a stone ledge where one of the serving tables was set up.

Losing my balance, I hit my head against the table's edge. Sagging to the ground, I attempted to get up but was too weak. After long periods without proper nourishment, I no longer possessed the strength I once had. Feeling dizzy, my vision blurred, and before I knew it, I was falling over onto the ground. Darkness engulfed me, taking me under until I was completely submerged in a deep state of unconsciousness.

Keva-When I woke sometime later, I was chained to a wall in a dank basement that smelled of mold. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the dimly lit space. When I could see clearly, Ethan and Natalie stood a few feet away, with Natalie tucked under Ethan’s arm.“Where am I?” I groaned as I pulled at the chains that bound my wrists above my head.“It doesn’t matter where you are.” Natalie snorted. “You won’t survive much longer, so why do you care?”“Why are you doing this?” My eyes went to Ethan.Although he has shown his true colors, a part of me still hoped that there was a part of him that cared. Yet, as I looked into his dark brown eyes, all I saw was disgust. Pain exploded inside my chest as I looked at the man I had loved with all of my heart.“When we first met, I admit I did want to be with you. Not out of love but because you were the most beautiful woman I have ever met. I never loved you. You were nothing more than a trophy I wanted to win or a vase I wanted to collec

Keva-“No!”A scream echoed in my mind as I suddenly woke up and sat up straight. It took me a moment to realize that I was the one who had screamed, as remnants of my nightmare raced through my mind. Taking in my surroundings, I came to the unsettling realization that it hadn't just been a nightmare; it had been real.“Kev, how are you feeling?” My father's voice was filled with intense emotion and profound sorrow.“Daddy.” I sobbed and launched myself into his arms. His warm embrace filled me with an even deeper sense of regret. Hiding my face in his chest, I let my tears flow freely. It felt as if it had been a lifetime since I was held by someone who truly cared for my well-being.“You’re safe now.” My father’s tone was soft as he rubbed my back like he did when I was a child. My tears slowly dried and I calmed down. After sniffling a few times, I lifted my head and pulled away from him. Using the back of my hand, I wiped away the tear stains on my face. Glancing around the hospit

Daxton-“How about we leave you to get some rest? Carter and I will head home with Dad, to set up things. The doctor said you would need to stay here for a couple of days.” Silas’s gaze moved from Keva to me. “How about you stay with her for now?”“Sure.” I hoped that Keva didn’t notice anything in my voice.“I will be fine on my own.” Keva argued.“Nonsense.” The Alpha King, Charles, shook his head and patted Keva on the head. “After what they did to you, I will not allow you to be alone until you return home. I will feel better knowing someone is here to protect you. I don’t know what you have been through these past two years, but your body and wolf are weak.”I tried not to seem obvious that I wanted Keva to agree to let me stay. Since the moment she woke up, I have done my best to seem indifferent. I don’t know what she went through with Ethan, but I could tell by the condition she was in when I found her, that it was bad.If I had known that she would meet someone like Ethan, I n

Daxton-A few hours later, the others leave the hospital, while I stay behind with Keva. I wished that Silas never mentioned how I felt about Keva, because now I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I also couldn’t stop thinking about what Silas mentioned about pretending to be her mate when she faced Ethan again. Not only would I have an excuse to be around her, and protect her, but I could also see Ethan’s look when he saw Keva and me together. Despite Ethan being an idiot, I doubted he was stupid enough to cross me. His pack might be growing, but it still had a long way to go before it was near my level.I considered asking Keva about what she went through these past two years, but I didn’t get a chance. Shortly after her brothers and father left, she fell asleep. Only after she was sleeping did I relax a bit. Instead of keeping up my indifferent attitude, I sat beside her and watched her sleep. Her features were tense, but when I rested my hand on her forehead and massaged the space b

Keva-On the third day, I could finally leave the hospital. It hadn’t been terrible to stay at the hospital, but it felt as if the walls were closing in on me. A lot had to do with how Daxton kept hovering over me. Other than when he left me alone with Madison after she arrived, he hadn’t left my side.Even when I went to the bathroom, he stood guard outside of the door. The worst part was that it was almost impossible to start a conversation with him. When he did manage to talk, it was short and simple, maybe a word here or there, a nod or a grunt.“Where are you parked?” I asked Daxton as we exited the hospital.“Over there.” He nodded to the north end of the parking lot, where I saw a familiar motorcycle.“You still have that?” I cocked my head to the side as I walked alongside him.“Why wouldn’t I?” Daxton shrugged. “It’s a good bike.”“I doubt it is a good bike, considering a ten-year-old bought it for you.” I scoffed and tried to hide my smile. When he turned sixteen, I overhear

Keva-“What is all this?” I asked with wide eyes and a slack jaw as I gazed upon the massive pile of gifts in the living room.“When we knew you were returning home, we went a little crazy buying gifts.” Carter exclaimed as he took my hand and led me to the circular coffee table, in the center of the room, where a portion of the gifts were on display.“This is too much.” I groaned.“Maybe, but we haven’t been able to spoil you for two years. Plus, some of these presents were what mom bought you before she left us.” Silas stepped forward and picked up a square box, with velvet black fabric. “Mom bought this for your last birthday.”Taking the box, I flipped open the lid and nearly started crying again when I saw a beautiful necklace inside. For as long as I can remember, she has bought me jewelry with ruby gems. I knew it was because it was my birthstone and her favorite jewel. The necklace was simple, with a single ruby surrounded by an arrangement of smaller rubies and diamonds. Touc

Keva-The following morning, I immediately turned on the laptop Silas gave me. Since I fell asleep on the couch, I didn’t need to go far. It didn’t take long for me to connect to a video feed coming from the camera on Carter. The camera showed him talking to his friend, as they rode in a car together. I had hoped he would already be dealing with Ethan, but I was also glad he hadn’t started yet. I wasn’t sure how much time I had to spare before Carter met with Ethan, so I quickly set the computer aside to use the restroom and freshen up for the day. When I returned downstairs, I was Daxton. “Good morning.” He spoke.“Where did you go last night?” I asked out of curiosity but didn’t expect him to answer.“I had a call I had to handle. When I finished, I didn’t want to bother you while you were with your father, so I slept in a guest room.”“Oh.” I nodded, feeling a little awkward.Taking in his appearance, it seemed as if he had been awake for a while. Daxton-Seeing Keva smile and laugh, filled me with undeniable longing. Even if it has only been a few days since she has returned to my life, it felt like a long time since I have seen her happy. It had been risky to face Ethan, but as long as it made her happy I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.“Now what do you want to do?” I asked when Keva closed the laptop.“I thought about returning when I was stronger, but I think it might be better to return now. Carter might have got in, but Natalie is bound to slip up. Before the truth is revealed, I want to let them think they have won.” Keva set the laptop aside and resumed eating the food I gave her.“What do you mean?”“Natalie seems convinced that Carter believes that she is his sister, but she won’t fully trust him not to see through her lies. As long as I return, I can have their attention on me. Besides, in my current state, they won’t see me as a threat.” Keva said between bites of her sandwich.“I thought the plan was to get Carte

Keva-“What?”“When Daxton turned eighteen, he found out that you are his fated mate.”My eyes widened to the point they felt as if they were bulging out of my sockets. “What?”“It’s true.” Jayden nodded. “When he turned eighteen, he felt the bond with you. He tried to deny it at first, due to his history and age difference, but then he stopped fighting against it. He did start avoiding you, but he planned to approach you on your eighteenth birthday. When you ran off, it didn’t just break him, it shattered him. Do you know how painful it is when the one you are fated to, mates with another?”Slowly I shook my head, unable to form any words. I was too stunned and everything he was saying was beyond my current comprehension. I tried to process everything, but it was like my brain had been fried.“Let me put it to you this way…” He took a deep breath and lowered his leg while leaning forward to place his elbows on his knees. “He nearly died. He stopped eating and drinking and started dis

Keva-After discussing it with them, they both went quiet until Daxton broke the silence. “I don’t think Lunar Eclipse is related to this. I am not saying we shouldn’t stay vigilant, but this doesn’t sound like their thing.”“I agree with Daxton. I think you might be overthinking this, sis.” Silas added. They could be right, but I wasn’t sure. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was bound to happen. I was tempted to get a professional team together to handle the mission. If Lunar Eclipse was involved, then things wouldn’t just be dangerous, they would be deadly. I wasn’t too worried about their teams, but I had an idiot on my team.“Maybe.” I sighed.“Look, you are under a lot of pressure right now and there are a lot of variables in play. I think that for tonight, you just need to relax and try to clear your mind. Tomorrow we will have a better understanding of what we are dealing with, and we can plan accordingly.” Silas spoke.“We aren’t brushing you off, but we do think th

Keva-“What I can’t call my daughter unless there is a problem?” My father sounded offended, but I knew he was teasing me.“Not at all. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” I smiled as I entered my office and shut the door behind me.“Actually, I do have a reason for calling and it is a problem.”“What is it?” I asked as I sat at my desk.“I remembered you telling me that you were going to be doing a leadership test today and would be doing missions.” My father paused and I heard the shuffle of papers in the background. “I have a mission I could use your help with.”“Go on.” I encouraged him as I leaned back in my chair and gave him my full attention.“There is a scientist who is being targeted. His lab exploded a few days ago and he feels like he is being followed. I don’t know how bad his situation is. I planned to send some warriors to him, but I thought it might be better for you guys to deal with it. I mainly need you to contact the scientist, figure out his situation, elim

Keva-The test ends, with Ethan leading everyone out. Tobias had been correct, Ethan had an excellent memory and sense of direction. They had moved through the maze without direction when locating the items for everyone, which Ethan had noted each turn. When they collected the items, they stopped and discussed their exit strategy. As if it were a puzzle he connected each path, and figured out even the areas they hadn’t ventured. Ethan deduced where the exit would likely be and took the lead. He traveled in his wolf form and while many were unsure Ethan was leading them in the right direction, Tobias had followed Ethan with confidence. The others slowly followed Tobias’s lead, which proved they were already seeing him as their leader. That alone filled me with excitement. I didn’t care that Ethan had been the one to help everyone escape. It was Tobias who had shown the true purpose of the test.At best Ethan was simply cocky and had a superior complex, which gave me an idea for the nex

Keva-With a sigh, I settled into a chair in the control room we set up. The loyalty test was officially over and had lasted a little longer than I planned. Technically the test only took three days, but we had to wait an additional two days because one member had been injured.Everyone in charge of the testing was assigned three members, although Jayden only had two. We had a few members fail, but everyone in Daxton’s, Jayden’s, Carter’s, and my group passed. One member Silas had tested failed, but it wasn’t a member who failed is why we had to wait two more days before beginning the next test. No, Daxton decided to take things a little too far with one of his testers. The person passed, but he had caused him to be injured by torturing him after an arranged kidnapping. Up until that point I had avoided Daxton, but then I was forced to deal with him.I hadn’t been mad at Daxton due to what happened between us, but I was struggling to wrap my mind around it. Daxton-After getting dressed, I attempted to stay with Keva to calm her down, but she uncovered herself and threw a pillow at me. Thinking it was better to retreat than make her even more mad, I left the room. Once I was in the hall, I was startled when I noticed Silas leaning against the wall with his arms folded over his chest.“While I am glad you and her finally got together, it isn’t going to be that simple.” Silas smirked.I didn’t need to ask what he meant. I knew exactly what happened. I shouldn’t have let things get as far as they had, but something came over me and I couldn’t hold myself back. Originally, I just planned to tease her so she would let down her guard a little more. When I caught the familiar scent of a blood pill, I took advantage of the situation. I knew she had been intoxicated by vampire blood, which was as effective as a sexual arousal drug. Because of that, I hadn’t marked her, but I had desperately wanted to.I had asked her if she was sure and if she wo

Keva-“What are you doing?” I gasped as I took a step back from Daxton.“That is my question. What are you doing?” Daxton’s voice was low and slightly husky as he kept moving toward me with each step I took away from him.“I…” My mind was blank and I couldn’t think of a reasonable excuse.“This time you provoked me.” Daxton quickly closed the distance between us, wrapping one arm around me, while grabbing me behind the neck and pulling me toward him. “Don’t think you can run little wolf.”As his lips crashed against mine, I only had one thought running through my mind. I no longer wanted to run from him. I could deny it all I wanted, but the truth was, his touch, his taste, and his scent, made me crave him in ways I never thought possible. Now that I wasn’t holding back, it was like the floodgates of hell opened up. My hands swiftly moved to his shoulders and I gripped them tightly as I pulled myself closer to him. It felt as if my body was coming alive, even if I didn’t quite underst

Keva-As if we had been caught doing something we shouldn’t have, Silas froze, with one foot on the first step and I tensed. Tobias didn’t seem surprised to see Silas carrying me on his back. He also didn’t say or do anything until after Silas regained his composure and continued walking up the few steps to the porch.“Put me down.” I whispered in Silas’s ear.Silas didn’t protest as he put me down, but I could sense that he was on edge as he placed himself between me and Tobias. “What are you doing here?” He asked Tobias.I was about to tell Silas he didn’t speak, but to my surprise, Tobias answered. “Two reasons.” Tobias pulled a hand from his pocket and extended his arm toward me, with a pill bottle in his hand. “To give you this and to speak to you.”“I thought you didn’t talk?” I lifted my brows and looked at the item in his hand, unsure if I should take it.“I do, but I don’t speak unless I have a reason to.” Tobias shrugged.“Makes sense.” I said as I accepted the pill bottle.

Keva-“Their conditioning is weak. At this rate, I doubt a single member will make it through.” Silas sighed as he stood next to me and watched pack members struggle to keep standing. It has been thirty hours since the end of the first test. The following test was to test their endurance. I only planned to have them endure for twenty-four hours, but Silas convinced me to do it for three days. As for the test, it was nothing more than standing on the field without sleep, food, or water. It might seem harsh, but even if a member isn’t a warrior if war breaks out, this would be common amongst our kind. We would be unable to get food or water, and sleeping could cost us our lives. Technically warriors are trained to be able to endure days of not sleeping, eating, or drinking, but that just proved that the standards of this pack, prior to me becoming leader, were severely lacking.“Don’t you think we are being a little too cruel?” I asked as I watched two members collapse and be carried of
