Raya’s POV

He asked me the questions I was most afraid of. Of course I wanted to be his mate, but the threat of his goddess given mate showing up hung heavy over my head. I would love nothing more than to be his and he be mine, but can I really handle it when he inevitably leaves me for his mate?

“Of course I want to, Dane. I want to so badly, but I’m scared,” I admitted, staring at my hands. Dane slowly reached his hand out, gently grabbing my chin and turning me so that I was looking into his golden eyes. I had missed those eyes, this hand, his presence, all of him. “What if you find your mate?” 

“You are mate,” he responded instantly, not a sliver of hesitation. “I am almost certain you are my goddess given mate, but even if you weren’t, you’re the only one for me, Raya.”
