CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY

TYLA Point of View

I couldn't believe how everything had turned out. One minute we were sure Jonathan would be cleared, and the next minute Damon was walking free with that smug smile on his face. The past few days had been a blur of meetings and paperwork as I settled into my new role as the acting Alpha. I never imagined I would take on this position this soon, especially not under these circumstances. Jonathan tried to hide it, but I could see the hurt in his eyes every time someone addressed me as Alpha instead of him. Still, he supported me, and that was all that mattered. Today, I needed to see my father. He had been strangely quiet since the trial, and I wanted to thank him personally for changing his position on Damon. At least, that's what I thought had happened. I drove to my father's house, my mind racing with all the questions I wanted to ask him. When I arrived, he was waiting for me on the porch, a small smile on his face. "There she is,"

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY ONE JONATHAN Point of View and I paced back and forth in my bedroom, the rage building inside me with each step. The position I had worked so hard for, sacrificed so much for—gone. Just like that. And now Tyla, my wife, had taken my place. I stopped at the window and stared out, not really seeing the view. My mind was somewhere else, back in time, when I had done the unthinkable to secure my position as Alpha. My sister. Annie. The rightful heir to the Alpha position. We had argued that night about the pack's future, about the direction she planned to take us if she became Alpha. She was too soft, too willing to compromise with the other packs. I knew we needed strength, not weakness. The argument escalated. She had pushed me, both physically and with her words. She called me weak, said I'd never be half the Alpha she was. I framed and got her killed so easily. Just to sit on this throne. And now, after everything I had done, everything I had sacrificed

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO TYLA Point of View I couldn't let Jonathan manipulate me. His suggestion that he should continue to run things "at home" while I handled the public-facing Alpha duties felt like a crap. I knew my pack deserved transparency, not hidden power plays. That aside, I was already here. Why would I let him take charge at home when that was all I ever wanted? "I'm planning the coronation party already," I told Jonathan firmly, watching the flash of anger quickly masked by his practised smile. "The pack will know everything eventually. No matter how we try to hide it." That evening, I spoke with our pack's trusted messenger. "Make the official announcement," I instructed. "I want everyone to know I'm the new Alpha, and we'll be holding a coronation ceremony soon." The messenger nodded, understanding the importance of clear communication. Jonathan might prefer shadows and secrets, but I believe in open leadership. Or that was the lie I told myself, so I would

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE JONATHAN Point of View I watched Tyla closely, studying her every movement. Something had changed since the council meeting. Her demeanor was different— more confident, more resolute. The soft, uncertain woman I had married seemed to have disappeared, replaced by someone who carried herself with a quiet strength that both intrigued and frustrated me. "Do you still love me?" The words slipped out before I could stop them. They hung in the air between us, vulnerable and raw. She looked at me, her eyes steady. "Of course I love you," she said. But there was something different in her voice. A distance I hadn't heard in a while. "I just need to focus on handling the pack right now." Her response should have reassured me, but it didn't. Love had always been a tool for me. a means to an end. I had loved my sister Annie once, before I killed her to secure my position. I had married Tyla for power. But somewhere along the way, my feelings had become compl

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR TYLA Point of View "I am changing a lot of rules concerning the omegas," I resolved within myself. I knew the changes would be controversial, but I couldn't ignore the plight of the omegas and weaker wolves any longer. For years, they had been marginalized, treated as less than nothing within our pack hierarchy. Jonathan's leadership had been ruthless, focused solely on strength and dominance. My first official act as acting alpha was to implement new rules that would protect and elevate those who had been overlooked for generations. I started with basic provisions: guaranteed food rations for all pack members, regardless of their status. Medical care would now be provided equally, with special attention to those who couldn't defend themselves. Training programs would be created to help omegas develop skills and potentially rise through the pack ranks. When I announced these changes during the pack meeting, I could feel the tension in the room. Som

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVE DAMON Point of View I leaned back in my chair, a satisfied smile spreading across my face. Jonathan was finally out of the way. The council's decision to strip him of his alpha status had worked perfectly. Now I had the breathing room I needed to prepare for my real challenge— facing Damisus. The past weeks had been a careful dance of manipulation. I had watched Jonathan lose his power, orchestrating the moves that would ultimately benefit my own plans. Each step had been calculated, each moment precisely timed. The look of defeat in Jonathan's eyes when he was removed from his position was almost too perfect —like a painting of political destruction. My connection to the council ran deep. Years of building relationships, trading favors, understanding the intricate web of pack politics had prepared me for this moment. Jonathan had always been too direct, too aggressive. Politics required subtlety, and that was something I had mastered. I summoned m

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SIX TYLA Point of View "You are here already," I said as I walked into the coffee store. I checked my wristwatch. I wasn't late. Rather, Damon was too early. The tension was palpable as I sat across from Damon, my heart racing with the weight of potential disaster. War between wolf packs was never simple, but the conflict brewing between Damon and Damisus threatened to tear apart everything. "Why did you call me here?" Damon snapped. Things had nor been the same between us. He acted strange towards me, and I found it difficult to understand why. "It's about the battle with Damisus," I began. "I'm never going to back off," Damon replied coldly. "You can't be serious about this," I said, my voice steady despite the fear churning inside me. "What if you do not come out victorious?" Damon's eyes were hard, unyielding. The kind of look that suggested his mind was already made up. I had seen that expression before— in Jonathan, in other alpha leaders who beli

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SEVEN JESSICA Point of View The silence of my current pack was suffocating. Whispers, sideways glances, the constant feeling of being an outsider— it was destroying me from the inside. I realized how foolish I was to have believed Jonathan. Now, he had abandoned me. Jay had also left me to be on my one. No matter how many times I tried to apologise to him, he would not budge. Jay didn't care about Tyla. I was smart enough to know that his anger was not just about me or what I did to Tyla. It was merely an excuse for him to move on with Sara. This was more about her than it was about me. He wanted to be with her, and not with me. That was all that mattered right now. I knew I needed a change. I needed something to distract me completely, or I would explode. More than that, I needed family. Damon was the only family I had left. The journey to his pack wasn't easy. I spent days preparing, gathering my courage. What would he say? Would he welcome me after

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY EIGHT ALPHA KING DAMISUS Point of View I sat at my desk, staring at the letter from the Council of Elders. The words blurred together as my mind racing with thoughts of the upcoming battle. Three days. That's all I had left. For a moment, my heart jumped with anxiety. What if I wasn't prepared enough? What if Damon had some trick up his sleeve? I knew that Damon was not just powerful and dangerous. He was cunning, too. He would definitely seize every opportunity to make sure he overthrown me. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I had been training for months, honing my skills and perfecting my strategy. I was ready for this. But as I thought about Demon, my confidence wavered. Everything I had done to bring him down, to stop him from participating in the battle, had failed. It was as if he had a shield, a bulletproof armor that deflected every arrow I threw his way. I clenched my fists, frustration burning within me. Why couldn't I get the

The sun was setting over the pack's territory, casting a warm orange glow over the gathered crowd. The atmosphere was alive with chatter and laughter as the pack members eagerly awaited the ceremony. At the center of the gathering stood an elegant stage, adorned with intricate carvings and symbols of the pack's heritage. Before the stage, a beautifully crafted altar held a delicate, gemstone-encrusted crown, awaiting its new owner. The Luna ceremony was about to commence, and Tyla, Damon's chosen mate, stood poised and radiant, her long, dark hair cascading down her back like a waterfall of night. CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE JAY Point of View I walked away from Damon, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside me. I was worried about Jess, and I regretted the way I had treated her. I couldn't believe how I had ignored her, pushed her away when she needed me most. I had been so caught up in my own problems, my own guilt and shame, that I had neglected the one person who truly cared about me. Now, it seemed like it was too late. Jess was hurt, and I didn't blame her. I had broken her trust, and I didn't know if I could ever repair it. I felt a pang of sadness and regret. I wished I could go back in time, do things differently. I wished I could amend things, make it right between us. But it was too late now. The damage was done, and all I could do was hope that someday, somehow, Jess would be able to forgive me. I sighed, feeling a sense of despair wash over me. I had messed up, and now I had to live with the consequences. I walked back to my quarters, feeling lost and

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FOUR DAMON point of View I stood in front of the large map of our territory, studying it intently. We had been searching for the missing goods for weeks, and I was determined to finally recover them. I had been working tirelessly, following every lead, every hint, every rumor. I had spoken to every pack member, every ally, every enemy. And finally, after all this time, I had a breakthrough. I had received a tip from a reliable source that the missing goods were being hidden in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of our territory. I had assembled a team of my most trusted pack members, and we were ready to move. We arrived at the warehouse under the cover of darkness. We moved stealthily, our eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger. I gave a hand signal, and my team moved into position. We burst into the warehouse, our flashlights illuminating the dark space. And there, in the center of the room, were the missing goods. Crates of food, medi

Damon's eyes locked onto mine, his expression serious. "I was wondering if you'd consider not going with Tyla back to the Cornrow pack," he said, his voice filled with emotion. I raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Why?" I asked, curious. Tyla spoke up, her voice soft. "Because, Jess, I need some time to heal. And everything in the Cornrow pack...it's just too much. It'll never let me heal." I nodded, understanding. I knew that Tyla had been through a lot, and the Cornrow pack was a constant reminder of her past. I couldn't blame her for wanting to get away from it all. "Okay, Tyla," I said, smiling softly. "I'll

It was as if the weight of our confessions had lifted a burden off our shoulders, and we were finally free to express our true feelings. I looked into Tyla's eyes, and I saw the same desire reflected back at me. Without a word, I leaned in, my lips brushing against hers in a gentle, tender kiss. Tyla's response was immediate, her lips parting to deepen the kiss. I felt a surge of passion run through me, and I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close. We kissed for what felt like hours, our lips locked together in a passionate, all-consuming kiss. I felt like I was home, like I had finally found the missing piece of my soul. As we broke apart for air, I looked into Tyla's eyes and saw the same love, the same desire reflected back at me. Without a word, I stood up, pulling her to her feet, and led her to the bedroom. We made love with a passion, a

It had been a long day, filled with tension and drama. Jessica safely tucked away in bed, I had a chance to unwind. Jessica had complained about feeling sleepy, and I had asked Tyla to put her to sleep. Iwas starting to relax when, I heard a soft voice behind me. "Damon, can I talk to you?" I turned to see Tyla standing in the doorway, her eyes hesitant. I nodded, gesturing for her to come in. She walked over to the couch and sat down beside me, her eyes fixed on mine. He spoke in a low tone, his words indistinguishable, but his expression told me that he was giving orders. Suddenly, a group of pack members appeared out of nowhere, their faces somber as they surveyed the scene before them. Damon nodded at them, and they quickly sprang into action. "Take Jessica's car and Jonathan's car away from here," Damon instructed, his voice firm. "Take them back to the cornrow pack." The pack members nodded, their movements swift and efficient as they worked to remove the cars from the scene. I watched, still trying to process everything that had happened. Damon turned to us, his eyes locking onto mine and Jessica's. "Let's get out of here," he said, his voice soft. "We'll take my car." Jessica nodded, her eyes still shining with tears.
